Idyllvice says "El Dorado, Shangri-La, Avalon, Nirvana and Black Silk" about Folgers Black Silk

Black Silk is the exact point where robust and smooth meet. This is an excellent coffee where if your taste buds aren't incinerated by hot sauce, habenaros and cigarettes you will revel in the delicate clarity of its stout charecter. If you like bitter coffee with an acidic bite and loitering caustic aftertaste you won't like this coffee. I liken it to a fine wine that has a delightful opening then moves to a significant body and then developes into a refined, clear finish. This is the journey every sip will bring to you.

I fall asleep at night with a smile knowing this great joy awaits.
...

I recently discovered Black Silk, what an awesome surprise. I like my coffee to be able to stand up to cream, therefore, I like a darker, bolder taste. Many dark roast coffees taste burnt; Black Silk is smooth, I no longer add sugar; I add a little soy milk and I am a happy person with less calories and great taste. The price is awesome for such a great cup of coffee--bye, bye Starbucks!
...

The Folgers Black Silk coffee is the best non-flavored coffee I've ever tasted. I am usually a big fan of flavored coffees. This time I decided to go for something different. I am very pleased with it's rich coffee flavor, dark color, and wonderful aroma. I would recommend this coffee to anyone...

I was always a Columbian coffee lover, suppose to be the richest kind. Then I swiched to Folgers Gourmet Supreme. Heading for the dark roast. When they came out with Black Silk, I fell in love. Now this is the only coffee served in my house. This is the coffee for all the snobs. I've even converted family members to drinking dark roast, now if I can get them to drink it without flavoring....

I saw this advertised in the coupon section of the Sunday paper and wanted to taste it but the stores here did not get it in before the coupon expired. I threw away the coupon and almost forgot about it. My husband who usually goes to the store with me to buy groceries was on the coffee aisle and saw it in the small can (plastic) and asked about the coupon I had been wanting to use. That one had expired but another one had come out with just the Coffeehouse selections and I saw that this was one of those so we bought it. I love the dark and woodsy scent of the coffee and the flavor is very mild. I am not always a big Folgers fan but this one has me back in their corner. I really like this one....

I would recommend "Folger's Black Silk. It has a rich, dark ,smooth taste that I like. I enjoy a lot of European Coffee's and Folger's Black Silk reminds me of a few European Coffee's.

Since "Folger's Black Silk" coffee grounds are very fine, it uses less coffee per cup.

Coffee lovers have to like coffee that has a strong and robust flavor to enjoy " Folger's Black Silk.
...

When I first discovered Folger's Black Silk, I thought "Wow! Folger's has stepped up!" Boy, was I wrong. It was a step down. I bought 2 large containers and would not but it again.

It's just plain dark and bland! There's very little flavor and NO bite at all.

It's pretty... but worthless!
...

This is quite unexceptional. Just dark coffee with a bland flavor. Way below my local roaster and not even a contest to Jelk's coffees. Better than Hill's Brothers and Krogers to my taste....

This is tastey, but it's a tummy pain waiting to happen. I bought this at Walgreen's to save time and money but it did something to my stomach. This brand often will. I love their flavored coffees but there's something about the ones that come in this particular resealable can. It does taste great but if you have a sensitive stomach, it is not for you....

Lykoi says "Love the bold flavor" about Folgers Black Silk

I am an avid coffee drinker. I love the stuff. I have found that my tastes have favored the more bold and rich blends than those of a breakfast blend. Black Silk is just that, silky. It's robust yet smooth.

When I do find the Black Silk at the stores that I do shop, I will buy 2-3 canisters of it just so that I can stock up.

I find it difficult to find at times and it's depressing having to settle for a different brand or type of folgers....

This is really a nice, bold coffee. Unlike Starbucks, the taste is more "coffee" like. It's bold and rich and satisfying. Not for the person who loves weak coffee! Not quite as strong as Starbucks, but has a nice soundness to it. I've always been a fan of Folgers, and this is not a disappointment. ...

RudiXeno says "Finally! A Folgers that even coffee snobs will enjoy" about Folgers Black Silk

This is Folgers? Yup! Deep, dark, smoky but smooth. No hint of bitterness so often found in extra dark roasts. This is a coffee with chops.

Let me back up a bit. Awhile ago I wrote about Folgers Gourmet Supreme. At that time it was the darkest roast Folgers produced and both Veronica and I like it as our everyday coffee. Interestingly, some of our friends find it a bit to bold and prefer something lighter. So, we keep some Columbian Medium Roast on hand for them.

At the time, I can recall saying that Gourmet Supreme was an excellent coffee with coffee lovers (not necessarily snobs) as its target market.

Well Black Silk goes all the way. It would be hard to imagine anyone who enjoys a deep dark roast not enjoying the flavor of Black Silk. Coffee lovers won't mind enjoying it out of its easy to open red plastic container. Snobs may want to put it into a new, unmarked airtight container. Either way, you're going to fall hard for this coffee.

Price

Black Silk is priced no...
...
