I recently bought the second generation, flip ultra and love it! It is extremely user friendly, the picture is good enough for my purposes, and I can hear my little ones jibberish clearly. I love how compact it is, perfect to always have on hand to catch all of those little kid moments! I like that the button to delete videos has a safety feature with a double prompt, so that I cannot accidentally delete videos that I wanted to keep. I also like that it operates on AA batteries, this way I can use rechargeable AA batteries, which is just as cost effective as a battery pack, but can also pop in regular AA batteries if I happen to run out of juice while away from home/charger. I do, however, wish that there were some sort of icon that could show how much battery life was left/used. I also wish that the flip had the option of an external memory card. Two hours of taping time is a decent amount and you would be suprised at just how much can fit within those two hours, but it would be nice to...

Love it, easy to use - just point and shoot. no special software needed. Just plug in to your usb and it is there. No extra software or conversions needed. Anyone can use it, it is that easy.

My husband bought the Flip Video Camera for me as a holiday gift last year. At first I thought he was crazy because we had a camcorder in the closet that was gathering dust. Then I played with this and realized just how great technology had come in this field. While this product only records one hour at a time on my system, I am still thrilled. It really is all that I need to tape my daughter's classes and other events. It zooms in and out, stops, starts. It is just that simple and truly intuitive. If you are a new parent to be, I would seriously consider this unit. You'll be so sleep-deprived and strung out from having to figure out how everything else goes together (crib, stroller, etc.) that you will find this a totally refreshing breeze! The Flip video camera is perfect for the amateur videographer, with its low cost, easy of use, portability and simple interface for posting online. I've used it to film home videos, footage of travels, concerts, sporting events and even a wedding. The quality of the video is very good, though it can be somewhat grainy in low light. The sound quality is quite good, and the simple USB flip mechanism makes it easy to transfer videos onto a computer and charge the camera. For the price, you can't find a better camcorder.

I bought this item thinking "I'll use it all the time." I've thought this before about other products and then they end up deep in my closet somewhere. Surprisingly enough, I AM using my Flip Ultra a lot. It is light and portable so I keep it in my purse with me all the time just in case a cute moment comes up. The on-board software makes making movies and transferring them to DVD or online a breeze. There is no light on the camera, but so far I have not found that to be a problem. It only has 2x zoom, so shooting from across the room can be a bit difficult if you want close-up shots.

Flip Ultra's are available in 30 and 60 minute recording length versions. I opted for the 60 minute one and found it for $116 on Amazon.com. The camera case that comes with it worried me a bit in its ability to protect it from other hazards in my purse so I quickly purchased another one. The real difference between the Flip Ultra and the Flip Mino is the type of battery in it. I have used...

My husband gave me the challenge of choosing a sweet 16 birthday gift for his daughter. I myself was interested in purchasing a Flip Ultra video camera to carry in my purse to catch video of fun times with family. I loved the small, portable design and the trendy colors. I loved that it uses 2 double A batteries instead of a rechargable battery. I also appreciate the USB arm that flips out of the side for easy connection to my computer. I use a Mac and have no problems creating great quality video in Imovie. The picture quality is stunning, I have an old analog video camera and it does'nt even compare! I bought it for my step-daugher's birthday and she is so happy with it. I even bought one for myself!!! I love the underwater camera case- it is the perfect accesory for me since we love going to the beach. It stayed completely dry and no sand got on the camera. This is definitely something I recommend.

I bought the Flip for my 11 year old daughter for Christmas since she wanted a video camera. She loves the fact that she has her own, and I love the idea that I can keep it in my purse and we can have it with us always. it is rare to find one that is compatible with IBM and Apple with ease in both places. No downsides to this!

Based on the positive reviews in the press and on Viewpoints I bought a Flip Video Camera this weekend at Best Buy. I purchased the newer model that is smaller and rechargeable. The hall mark of the Flip is that it is incredibly easy to use. Within minutes of taking it out of the box I was creating shooting fun simple videos of my kids. It is so simple that my young kids two of whom are 9 and 7 figured it out instantly.

I plugged it into our iMac and my Dell Laptop and in both cases I was able to install the software and download the videos within minutes. The software allowed me to save the video in a variety of formats and combine clips in different ways. It also had the option of saving the video in a WMV file so that I could e-mail it to someone.

I used the included cords to plug the video directly into our television and it worked like a charm. Video and audio came through perfectly. The quality is just OK and the zoom range is limited. However, if you want a...

I Love the flip Camera!!!! My Mother got it for me for my B-day and it is so easy to use. I cna take videos of my son and that same day My husband, who is in Iraq, can see the videos through e-mail! you just turn it on and record. THe quality is excellent as well, for such a small camcorder I thought the picture wouldn't be that great, but I was wrong. ANd who could beat the price as well!!! I recomend this to anyone who wants to save money but wants to cheroius all the little moments for life!...

I recently purchased the Flip Video Mino. It's the newest in the line of Flip Video Camcorders. I have to say that I am totally impressed! This thing is so small, and easy to use, it's unreal! The video quality is great as well! I would highly recommend this to anyone who loves to capture digital video at the drop of a hat. I take more video than i ever did with this, just because it's so compact and easy to use. It has built in software to let you edit your videos, and add cool effects too. The price is really reasonable, too. I found mine-brand new for $148 on buy.com!
On a side note: This newer version (THE MINO) doesn't use double A batteries! It charges by USB port, which is REALLY handy!
