I recieved this Fisher Price sounds and lights monitor for a present for my baby. Using it the first time i thought it was great. it has a night light four channels a handset that you can clip on your pants or belt you can go a great deal away from the base without it losing signal and it doesnt get to much static. i also like how when there is a noise in the room the lights on the monitor move to show how much sound it actually was. this is great just in case you dont have the monitor up to high you can still see if there is activity going on. this monitor doesnt make me worried about leaving my daughter in the room because i know i can hear everything that is going on. the night light could be a little bit brighter so it could light up the room a little bit and the battery life for the handset could last longer but thats what the cord for the handset is for too. overall this product is very well put together. non static unless you are far away. beeping for losing battery or signal...

I feel like the reception reaches a pretty good distance around my house, but like I said, I do have a small house. The only problem is that there is terrible interferance with other electronics that are plugged in...such as alarm clock and cell phone. The night light is perfect to check on a sleeping baby, and the light life has been great! I have a 3 year old and a new baby and this product has worked for both of them, without any malfunctions.

I bought the Fisher Price Sounds and Light Monitor recently at my local Babies R Us store and I love it. It comes with the base and two recievers as well as two plugs. You can either use the plugs or batteries. The monitor is so user friendly. All you do is plug in the base, turn it on, choose A or B setting, and turn on the night light if you need it, then you plug in the reciever wherever you need it and choose A or B setting depending on which you used with the base and turn on the volume control. This monitor set is perfect for the money you spend you can't beat the quality.

The Lights and Sounds monitor is the only monitor I've purchased and can't complain about it. It's put up with a lot from my son and myself. I've had to replace it once, after I left it in the bathroom for a couple of days and the steam from all of the showers ruined it.

It reaches very far, which helps for when I have to go out at night to clean my car, take out garbage, talk on the phone, etc.

The only con is having to replace the batteries. It comes with a cord so you could plug it into the wall, but I travel around the house with the monitor so I'm always going through batteries. I have to invest in rechargeable batteries just for the monitor, but it's worth it.

It's also kind of bulky.

The monitor (both parts of it) sat in my car the other day in the heat for hours, and my son had taken a cup of water and dumped it right on top of the pieces. It still works perfectly :) Would definitely reccomend it to other parents.

Fisher Price Lights and Sounds is not a very good baby monitor. It looks very nice, but does not work very well. Lots of static and picks up radio stations. You can hear everything else but your baby crying. I would recommend that you invest a little bit more money and get a better quality monitor....

I've had this monitor for 2.5 years and love it. It works fine. It just picks up static when we use our cell phones around it. Otherwise I love the light feature with the sound. If I don't have it loud enough, I can see there is noise by the lights.

I don't know why this monitor has received such mediocre reviews on this site. I have been using mine for 10 months now and haven't had any problems with it yet.

The Fisher Price Sounds and Lights Monitor comes with two receivers and one base for the baby's room. I put one receiver in my bedroom and the other in the living room for when I was watching tv and might not hear the one in my bedroom. The "lights" aspect of this monitor are great. When your baby is making noise, you will see a cascade of lights light up. The more noise your baby is making, the more lights that light up. It is very helpful if you have the volume turned down because you can still see the amount noise your baby is making by the amount of lights being lit up. The base which is in the baby's room has a pseudo night light glowing on top. It barely lights up, so I wouldn't really call it a night light.

When I received this monitor almost a year ago, it ran for about $35.99 which is a great price for...

I had gotten two monitors for my shower, tried the first one (can't remember the name) and I didn't like it very much, a lot of static and interference and what not. So I tried the Sounds and Lights Monitor which I had also gotten, and loved it. It's so clear. I can plug it in which is a bonus. And I can watch TV or do the dishes while my daughter is napping. It's very sensitive to any sound so I can even hear the buses and some cars through the monitor as they drive by my daughter's window on the second floor!...

The Fisher Price Sounds and Lights Monitor is a great value for the price paid. We first purchased a $200 visual monitor. It picked up every signal in the apartment we were living in. The Fisher Price monitor has static when adjusting the sound. It goes away as soon as you select a setting. Sometimes a radio signal is picked up and music plays faintly in the background. Given the small price of about $30, this monitor exceeds others in the same range. It will pick up your child's breathing, for the super protective moms! :)

I thought these monitors would be great, they seemed like a happy medium between the really cheap ones and the really expensive ones. First of all, whenever my cell phone rings, or I talk on the phone, it makes to monitor go CRAZY!! If they are by anything metal, it also goes crazy! The sound quality when it actually works right is ok I guess, but I would buy a better monitor for your little one!...

I received this monitor at one of my baby showers. I thought it was going to be a better monitor. It has worked for us, but I will warn you that it gives off a lot of static, which can get to be kind of annoying. Your cell phone will cause a lot of interference, basically there is just a lot of interference. However, I'm sure most of the monitors are going to be have the static problem. So overall it's probably just average, nothing great....
