My husband and I bought this toy as a Christmas present for our 11 month old son. We thought that the toy would be entertaining and having read all reviews before buying it, we expected to have lots of fun. Well at first it did not work out as we planned. Our son just became scared of it, but after awhile he got used to it and showed some interest. As for the parents, we loved playing it! Especially the ROAR sound that the dinosaur made! It was so funny! Our son also became interested and played with this toy a lot! He was attracted by the lights, the music and he liked to watch the balls rolling out of the toy. Besides being entertaining, the toy helps to develop motor skills. The balls are also very cute, they have tiny toys inside, which also roll. Our son liked to play with the balls too, separately from the toy. However, the toy is big and if you have enough space, then you may wish to try!
...

We received this as a gift for my oldest son about 4 years ago on his first Christmas. At the time he was a little less than a year. He was not able to put the balls in the holes himself at that point, but did like watching when we put the balls in. A few months later he was able to put the balls in and loved to play with this for fairly long periods of time. It was also nice as he learned to balance and walk that the toy is fairly wide set and for it's size does not tip over too easily. Some of the children who have come over to play in the past get a bit afraid of the dinosaurs roar - but neither of my kids have ever been afraid of it. Now my youngest son who is 13 months old is just starting to learn how to put the balls into the holes - when he was younger, he didn't really play with the balls, but spun the butterfly and other spinning toys. Another nice thing is that the toy does have an on/off switch and two levels of volume.
...

We have owned this toy for many years. it is very sturdy with bright colors. We have 5 children ages 0-1-4-7-11 and all have had many hours of fun with this dino. We also have collected the other toys that go along with the balls. The balls are great fun alone. the fit nicely in a toddlers hands and are filled with colors and fun things for babies to look at. the dino it self has helped our children to learn to sit by it, also to learn to stand by it, it is the perfect hight for little ones to play by. i also have had up to 3 kids at a time racing the balls down the shoots to see who won, so i think it can be used by many ages beyond the toddler years. i would recomend this toy to anyone who has babies also the light and sound keep their attention and the can learn to play with the balls, shake them and push them along the ground for lots more fun. Great toy by fisher price. i love dino!!
...

We bought ours used for $10 and it is worth it, even more. It's bigger than I thought it would be, which is good.

Our son was about 8-9 months old at the time, but took to the Drop 'n Roar Dinosaur immediately. Within a few minutes he was dropping the balls into the holes and giggling at the music that follows.

The only negative that we have found is sometimes the ball doesn't come out of the door from the lowest hole, or the opening when using the middle hole. But the head and tail work everytime.

Overall we are satisfied, especially at the price we paid. My son still plays with this toy at 12 months.

Oh, this is great for a few days...until you really get tired of searching for the balls. Fortunately, when those things are gone-under the couch or fridge, etc. the child eventually forgets about them and starts shoving other things in there-crayons, barbie clothes, matchbox cars...still, when you absolutely cannot get those things out and give in to the fact that they will be there FOREVER, the toy is still quite entertaining and yes...loud. But I'm not one that's too sensitive to that as long as it is kep in their room. So, with all the tunnels blocked, the child can still make the toy produce noise and action and entertainment. Right now, I believe she is using it as a ramp for her matchbox cars. Yesterday, it was an amusement park ride for her Barbie. The quality, I must say, is quite good. This toy will last until she is about 5 or so and that, I believe, is worth the price and other mishaps.
...

The Drop in Roar Dinosaur is a brightly colored toy. It keeps the childs interest for some time and my grandson giggles when the balls roll out. I would recommend this toy for a baby who is not walking yet as well as an older child. There are no small pieces to be swallowed. A smaller child may require help to put the balls into the toy but when they come rolling out it is to the child's delight. The toy is rather large so may not be for the family with limited space in the play area. But if you have the space it is a fun addition. The only thing I thought could be improved upon is that when not playing with the toy there is no way to store the balls inside the dinosaur. Therefore they tend to get misplaced from time to time. The toy is easy to assemble and is a great way to spend playtime with your child. It will bring many smiles to you and baby's face....

I would highly recommend the Fisher Price Roll-A-Rounds Drop n Roar Dinosaur. It has a multitude of slides and ramps that keep the little ones interested. The 6 balls that come with the dinosaur are clear with moving parts inside (e.g. dinosaur hatching out of an egg as the ball rolls), which fascinated my daughter. The dinosaur itself is brightly colored with various openings for dropping the balls. The lights and sounds also make this toy alot of fun. This toy foster early fine motor skills, chiefly hand eye coordination as well as casue effect relationships (i.e. drop the ball into a hole and see it roll and make noises. The only drawbacks to this toy are the short battery life, large number of batteries, and lack of ball storage. In addition, young children who are emeging walkers are inclined to pull themselves up on this toy. Although the toy is stable for playing, it tips easliy with the weight of a small child pulling themselves up on it.
...

My daughter got this as a gift, and I have to say, it's one of the more boring toys she's played with. I was disappointed in the size of the toy (it's HUGE!!) and the fact that it couldn't keep my daughter's attention (and we're talking about a girl that will sit and read books for hours on end). My daughter ended up taking the balls out and playing with them seperately. We got rid of this toy as soon as we could in a rummage sale. The colors were nice and bright, and babies that we had to our house were interested in the toy, but what good is it to them? They can't get the balls in the holes, so you have to do it for them, which kind of defeats the purpose of the hand/eye coordination exercise. If you are going to buy a larger toy, my recommendation would be to avoid this one and pick out something a little more interactive. Besides, after you lose the balls, what good is it? I'm not opposed to large toys, I just want something that allows a little more creativity.
...

The Fisher Price Dinosaur is great! It is easy to put together which is a plus for all moms and dads out there, we all know what it is like to sit for hours trying to put together a toy. This one will bring your little one hours of entertainment. The peak a boo balls are fun in themselves and with the dinosaur are almost non stop. My boys even liked to roll their cars through the dinosaur! It was always fun and never really seemed to be the same thing, so they did not get sick of it which is really nice. More times than not a toy is enjoyed for a day or two and then tossed to the side this one seriously lasted for four years before they basically outgrew it. They were actually sad to see it go when we got rid of it. It is a great toy and I highly recomend this to be added to your Christmas list when you are shopping! Enjoy it and enjoy the smiles that will be brought to your child's face when they play with it!
...

She now plays with it indepedantly at 14 months, every day! She loves the roar and the music it makes. She also likes the difference in ball routes.
