kriemermann says "Easy to use, and makes baby happy!" about Fisher Price Open Top Take Along Baby Swing

The Fisher-Price Open Top Swing is a very practical choice for anyone who is space or budget-conscious. Without the bells and whistles (sometimes literally) that accompany many baby swings, this is a much simpler product. There is a bassinet-shaped cloth pad and three-point safety strap to hold baby; there is a five-speed switch that controls the back-and-forth motion of the swing; and there are fold-up legs. That's all. Toys can be suspended from the handles, and I've often used baby links to create a "string" across the top of the swing to suspend toys. But often as not, that just annoys the baby, who is in the swing to relax, not be bombarded with toys.

If you're in the market for something that will keep your baby entertained for ages with music, lights, toys, and multiple swinging options, this isn't the choice for you. But if you want something that's nothing more than a swing, where you can safely let baby rest for a little while, this is an excellent choice. Easily fold up the legs,...
...

mariposa767 says "Our daughter loves this swing!" about Fisher Price Open Top Take Along Baby Swing

We have the Fisher-Price Rainforest Take Along Swing that was bought for us before our daughter was born. We liked it because it wouldn't take up as much room as a full size swing would and if we wanted to, it could easily be folded up to take with us if needed. It has 5 different swing speeds and plays "tropical" soothing music. When our daughter was very little (8-12 lbs.) we made sure always to be in the room with her while she was in the swing. We were afraid that she might fall over sideways and get stuck between the bars. This never happened, but we could see that it was possible. Parents need to be aware of this danger. Now that she is 15 lbs. and can hold herself up better, we feel a little safer to be out of the room, but still for only quick moments. The rocking speeds seemed to be too fast, so we have always kept the speed on only level 1 or 2. Our daughter loves looking at the hanging Tucan and for a month or two, she would be mesmerized by the bird -- smiling...
...

My kids are very close in age. My daughter was just under 9lb when she was born, We used this swing for three-four months months. My little girl was climing out of it.The great thing about this swing is that easly folds up, and take with you. My daughter had refluxes when she was born the swing keep her in the perfect posion, and helped at first. The music and lights Are realy cute and she enjoyed them at first. But by 3 1/2 months she lost interest. It would be a great swing for going to grandmas or a party. It held up great and I was able to resell it on ebay when My daughter was done with it. Over all I would buy it again if I had another child. One tip buy rechable batteries.
...

DandNMom says "With our on-the-go lifestyle, this portable swing made sense!" about Fisher Price Open Top Take Along Baby Swing

Because of our frequent travels, we knew it didn't make sense to continue using the heavy and large baby swing we had enjoyed using with our first child. This time, we looked for something lighter, smaller, and just generally more portable. Fisher-Price's open-top take-along swing worked out just right for us! Nicholas sat comfortably in the seat and enjoyed the panoramic view of everything in the room (since there were no hanging toys, waist-level bars, or superior support to block his view). We had the option of choosing among five different speeds, but we tended to just stick with the one he seemed to like the most (number 3). Its battery-powered motor was pretty quiet, and in the 6 months we used it, we only had to change the batteries once. Our best experience with it was when we took our son along with us to a 4-day conference. We were able to keep him in the room with us for most of the time; he just contentedly sat and enjoyed his swing, and we didn't disturb anyone. ...
...

I bought this at Wal-Mart on sale. We wanted a swing but didn't have room for a big huge one. I quickly realized this thing sucks batteries like nothing else. It wouldn't even swing my son on low even though he weighed about 10 pounds when we bought it. I had to constantly have it on high. Our son hated it and screamed constantly until we took him out of it. We thought he'd go to sleep in it but the opposite happened. While it is easy to take anywhere it just wasn't the swing for us and next time I'll do without the space and get a full size model that plugs into the wall....

I got this swing from a friend when my grandson was born. My daughter and her partner live in a small apartment and wanted a swing, but didn't have room for the big ones that literally spread all over like a spider. This swing was a life saver for them. My grandson had colic and NEVER slept laying down without waking within a few minutes. This swing could be set so low that it barely swung, yet the movement was soothing to him. And it is QUIET and continual (those old fashioned wind up ones were so noisy and would startle wake a baby in nothing flat!). When they didn't use it any more she asked if I wanted it. Well, as we have little storage space and I was using a full sized swing I said, that sure we'd take it and store it for whoever needed it next. It fits just perfect in a cupboard under our stairway and is ready for the next grandchild. The only thing is that it is limited as to how long you can use is as it is smaller. But it was awesome for colic and it layed......

I am in love with this swing! It is so petite and fits in such a small space! The baby loves it and the multi-speed makes it perfect! There were days that my babies would only sleep when in this swing! It was a life saver and I would reccommend that anyone having a baby buy it! When it was not in use, I just closed the legs and slipped it in the coat closet! The colors are cute and the padding is soft! We went through 3 kids with this swing with no problem!...

I love this swing in the fact that it is very portable, which means it can come along on vacation, and I can easily move it to different locations at home. It's small, so it doesn't clutter up a room. The draw back is if you have large, healthy babies like mine, they outgrow this swing much sooner that the traditional large swing. Personally I have both types, and didn't get the large one out of the garage until it was needed. The pros of this swing are worth it, in my opinion....

I bought this swing when my son was 6 months old. At that time he very stayed still but when he was 11 months old he could not sit in the swing anymore. Sometime tried to stand on the seat that very dangerouse so now my son is 16 months I could not put him in the swing anymore.
...

My first two kids hated the swing and I was stuck with few options for soothing them to sleep and would spend hours trying to get them to sleep at times. I had opted for a cheaper swing that wasn't very smooth or quiet and paid the price. This under the sea swing is smooth, quiet and has the option to swing both front to back and from side to side ( which my baby prefers). It also has sounds and lights and six different speeds of swinging. It may cost a bit more than some swings, but it is worth the price in sleep!

i
...

This is going to be a horribly excellent review.Let me explain... My baby girl who was four months old about nine pounds was in the cart in walmart just being as sweet as usual, and I always spoil great behavior so I purchased a baby swing the Fisher Price Rainforest Open Top Take-Along Swing. It is absolutely adorable and the music is perfect not too calm not too fast and it was sooooooo..... easy to assemble. Well I put my nine pound four month old baby in her swing that is for birth to twenty-five pounds. I 'm sitting on the couch while she is swinging in the middle of the living room thinking about how great this swing is for the price and I have always trusted Fisher Price products , so I pondered about how great it would be to bath, cook and clean which all new moms know is a pleasure not a necessity in these early months . Right before I am about to straighten up since my little angel was lulled to sleep by that sweet calming music the straps loosened and her little head fell...
...
