anathica says "Very soothing, but the straps were too weak." about Fisher Price Ocean Wonders Aquarium Bouncer

We bought this bouncer seat second-hand, but it was in great condition. I loved this seat so much, except for one BIG problem. The straps were too flimsy and weak, and my son would continuously flop over of the side of the seat. We had another bouncer and it had better straps, wider and higher. So it was a real conflict of whether or not to use it, because the sounds and motion were great, my son absolutely loved that. But if I wasn't sitting there in front of him every second he was in it, he risked falling out of it because of how low and thin the straps were. And as most moms know, one of the best things about bouncy seats is being able to put the baby down and get a few things done while the baby is calm and distracted. Granted, I rarely leave the room when he's in a boucner seat, but to have to sit right in front of him the whole time totally defeated the point. My son's nana had one that had better straps, though I have no idea where she got it from because I haven't been able to...
...

I love the Fishe Price Ocean Wonders Aquarium Bouncer. I did not have this product until my baby was two months old. Up until then I had no way to put my baby down to go to the bathroom or get a drink or get her bottle. She did not like her swing. We tried two different swings. She would cry the second she was put in there. She would cry when placed on the couch or floor for even two seconds. She would get a little tired of her toys sometimes, and I did not know what would help. My mom suggested this, and it has been so amazing I can't even tell you how much. She loves this bouncer. She will stay in it for more than a half hour at a time if allowed or when she is in the mood. She loves watching the starfish and fish turn around and around. She also likes the teething toys on it. They keep her pretty busy. And she likes the calming vibrations, although it doesn't really calm her down. She kicks and flails her arms in the bouncer because she is so excited with it. And sometimes she will turn...
...

We bought this bouncer for my son just before he was born. All the reviews said it was wonderful, and could keep a baby happy for hours on end. He did seem happy when we had to put him in it for a bit, but he was just as happy in any bouncy seat we put him in. We had a different one for upstairs, and he liked it just as well (and it cost a LOT less).

It runs through batteries pretty quickly. We replaced them probably about every other week, and he only spent maybe an hour a day in it. He did like the vibrate part, and that's probably what killed the batteries. He wasn't at all interested in the fish or the music and bubbles. He didn't seem to like the toys because they were hard. He did like the toys on our other bouncy seat, and they were plush ones that I could take off for him to play with.

It was definitely a good bouncy seat, and well-constructed. However, for the price, there are definitely better options. You're paying for pretty lights and music.
...

I had not considered buying a bouncer, but when I received two as shower gifts, I figured there must be something to this. Some of the complaints against this are for the type of toybar, etc. I have never tried another bouncer, so i can't compare. But I know that my kids loved this one. My oldest would sit and watch the little fish and grin at the bubbles. He loved kicking it to make the noises. My youngest DID NOT want to sleep in hus bassinet. Since my husband works nights it was just me and I needed to find some way to get him to sleep after midnight feedings. I would literally strap him into the bouncer, lie on my back on the bed, and stick a foot over the side to rock him to sleep. For two weeks that's the way I got sleep at night. So whether you choose this one or you find another one, a bouncer is a necessity.
...

I bought the Fisher Price Ocean Wonders bouncer for my son as well. A little pricey but well worth the money. My son enjoyed his bouncer and always fell right to sleep which was a life saver for me. I like the fact that it has lights, music vibration and toys that hang above to keep him occupied. One of the other things I liked about this bouncer was the settings, particularly the fact that it was baby activated which encouraged moverment and play. It is very easy to clean, with slide off cover and straps that are washer and dryer safe. The front of it that has the lights and toys was also very easy to remove and clean. This product was a wonderful addition to out home. Kept my son occupied and happy. Very durable also. I couldn't ask for a better bouncer! Fisher price went above and beyond on this product and would definately recommend this to anyone....

I have used this bouncer for two children and lent it to 3 friends. My 3 friends had several other bouncers and told me that this one is the one that worked the best. Something about the bubbles. All babies love to talk to the fish! I had playgroups over and the moms would try the bouncer and comment that their child hated their bouncer, but when they put them in my bouncer, the baby would gurgle and bounce@...

I work at a daycare and also a mom, so therefore i have experience with many bouncer seats. This is a good bouncer but there is one thing i dont like about it and to me it a big thing! The removeable toybar is to low so the kids cannot get to it or play with them! Therefore the kids get mad a frusterated and dont want to be in the bouncer anymore! but anyother bouncer they love to be in when they can see and play with the toybar.
...
