I bought this about a year ago and had heard great things about it. It was great for the first few months. Then after about 4 months the monitor started picking up static. I couldnt go out my front door or i would loose the signal all together. Then the cord started acting up. It gets bumped and shuts the monitor off if I dont have batteries in the handheld itself. And to add to all this i now pick up my neighbors children instead of my own. I can hear into there household as if i were there but cant here my child and i am only a few yards away. In my experience I definatly wouldnt recommend this product for long usage. As far as being durable it has not broken apart and the plastic has lasted through alot of regular wear and tear. But when it comes down to what i really want it to do it did not impress me and i wouldnt buy it again.
...

This monitor picks up every sound but it also has issues of static and buzzing. This can be soo annoying in the middle of the night when you are trying to sleep. The lights are great if you are doing something and can't hear the monitor but you can see if she is crying.
...

This Fisherprice product is a genius in itself. The Fisherprice lights and sound Baby Monitor with dual redievers is perfect for "The Gardening Mom." When you put your little one down to sleep, you need to be assured that nothing happens to her/him while you are busy outside. What better way to be reassured than to have this lights and sound monitor? This monitor picks up on the slightest sounds. The monitor has lights across the top to show if your baby has woke up if you accidently turned the volume down. If it is a soft sound only one or two lights light up. A loud noise they all light up. The base also has a soft glow night light on it. If your Baby sleeps in a different room than you, then you deffinately need this product. If you are like me and do all the house hold chores while baby is sleeping, then this product is for you too! It has a clip on the back for convienence of baby being with you at all times, no matter what room you are in. Also, the convinence of two recievers can...
...

reddenfam1 says "Sounds and Lights is the worst one I have ever had" about Fisher Price Lights and Sounds Baby Montior w/ Dual Recievers

This is the worst baby monitor I have ever encountered. The only good thing about it was the night light and even that was touch and go. I had nothing but static coming through the monitor no matter where I went. When it was dropped, the static got even more terrible. Very easily broken. After my kids knocked it to the ground a couple times behind my back off the television in my bedroom, it broke.

I am a heavy sleeper and no matter how high the volume was, it was not loud enough to wake me up. My husband had to wake me up to take turns with the kids. Often times he would just get up all night because he was tired of waking me up.

Towards the end of its days, I heard nothing but music coming from it at night and it drove me insane! I had to take something just to be able to fall asleep.

I do not recommend this baby monitor to anyone. In fact, I say push for the extra ten dollars and get something more reliable!
...

The Fisher Price Lights and Sounds Baby Monitor with dual receivers is an excellent baby monitor!

When we were pregnant with our first son we were looking for a durable, cost friendly, clear baby monitor for our small apartment. This baby monitor filled all of our needs and most of all has been with us for almost 2 years now and is still working like a champ! We are no longer in our small apartment but still even now in our new home the range is wonderful! Our son can be upstairs in his room and I can be out in the yard and the sound quality is still crystal clear. I love having the two different receivers mainly because the one in my bedroom can stay there and I can use the other one wherever I am. The light on the monitor is also wonderful for those middle of the night wake up calls! It gives you just enough to light to see the baby but yet isn't so bright that it bothers the baby. The sound indicators on the receivers are also nice if you are just a room away from the baby! It shows...
...

The Fisher Price Lights and Sounds baby monitor is a great buy for the money. It is one of the more affordable monitors on the market and works well. We have a problem in our neighborhood when using the monitor. Even though it is supposed to have security for interference we are able to pick up another monitor in our neighborhood. It makes it very confusing when you hear a baby cry at three in the morning and it is not your child. Overall though this monitor has served well in our home. It is very durable. I have a 5 year old that carries it around. The lights are a great addition so you can turn the volume down and still know if there is noise coming from your child's room. The dual receivers work out great also as you can have one in one room and be able to carry another with you. This way you always have one where you need it without worry about batteries going dead and having to carry it from room to room. For the money, I would definitely recommend this monitor....
...

This monitor is overall a great monitor for the cost. It does have some white noise in it, but other than that its great. The light provides a night light which was great for those early AM feedings and now my 7 month old loves it because he really doesnt like the dark. All in all a great buy!
...

The Fisher Price Sounds and Light monitor is a good basic set. It lasted almost regular use for 4-6 years. The monitor and the receiver both have rechargeable batteries and cords. This allows freedom of movement but also saves from having to buy new batteries all the time. We would plug ours in every night and it would last all day long without the cord. The monitor is slim and easily fits underneath the crib out of babies reach easily. The receiver has lights on it so you can see as well as hear how much the baby is crying vs. talking. This is great if you are trying to get some vacuuming in or are listening to headphones. It has decent range...most of the time it worked immediately outside the house but not too far. It did seem to pick up cordless phone conversations and it only has 2 channels so if you live really close to a bunch of people you have a good bit of interference. For a basic monitor, this is a good buy/
...

Sweyo says "The Sounds n' Light Monitor is high quality and long lasting. " about Fisher Price Lights and Sounds Baby Montior w/ Dual Recievers

We received the Fisher Price Sounds n' Light Monitor for a baby gift in August of 2006. We are on our second set of hand held receivers but love the product. We live in a two story house so we really needed something long lasting and reliable.

You can hear every noise and breath they make which is and was important to me. I also liked that the monitor had a light on so we could use it as a night light too.

We ended up buying rechargeable batteries for the handset as it goes through batteries pretty quickly. It does have the capability to plug it in, but it seems I never have a plug in handy!

The only problem we have had with it is it has only 2 frequency's and once in awhile we can pick up the neighbor's baby monitors too.

For the price of the monitor I think it is a good deal and it has lasted many more months than I thought it would. we would most likely buy it again as seeing my baby sleep is not that important to me.
...
