It wasnt till we had to separate in different states due to school that I buckled down to see what the fuss was about? Boy was I pleasantly surprise and instantly fell in love with this series.</p> <p>The cast of characters are so unlike the usual sci-fi shows like Star Trek and Battle Star Galatica! These are rogue characters on the run and very hew-man! Its neat to see the mix of sci-fi and western wrapped all in one. And I never got bored watching any of the episodes! In fact I may purchase the series on DVD to watch anytime my heart contents. One actress I really liked was Gina Torres who starred in the series Celopatra 2525. Plus who couldn't chuckle at the remarks made by Jane Cobbs? He totally played the a$$hole character perfectly and you still liked him.</p> <p>The movie that followed the series "Serendity" left me hoping for more to follow this series! So come on Joss Whendon (the creator) what are you waiting for?</p>... I was instantly hooked after the first episode! It was hilarious! It was action filled! It was brilliant! The mixture of characters is perfect and completely inthralling. I couldn't stop watching the entire series. I had to watch every episode after another! It's just to bad that it ended only after 12 episodes, that's the trully disapointing part about the whole ordeal. It has a movie follow up though, one that's supposed to leave an end to the series. Sadly, it doesn't really end it, it does answer alot of questions, but like most movies, it leaves and opening for more to come later. I honestly hope that more comes later to! I would absolutely love to see more episodes. I was completely addicted to the plot, the whole alternate universe that wa created by the same man that wrote the script for Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I wasn't a big fan of buffy, but I'm a totally smitten with Firefly.</p>... Sun, 26 Jul 2009 00:29:36 GMT http://www.viewpoints.com/Firefly-The-Complete-Series-review-013b0 Tenerlo 5 http://www.viewpoints.com/Firefly-The-Complete-Series-review-967310 Firefly is a series, that when seen for face value actually tintulates the senses a bit.  You'll want to join up upon this Firefly Class cargo vessel named Serenity, wishing to soar the heavens a bit yourself.  The c.g., the characters, the scenes, all of it comes together rather neatly, too bad it always feels less than watchable.<br/><br/>If you're a person who's into movies for the plot of a series, Firefly is a series you may sidestep.  The overall storyline is about an ex-rebel who lost in a war fought many years ago between the outlying colonies and the current military government.  After the war, he gathers himself a ragtag band of people, some greyer shades than others, doing odd and most times less than legal jobs behind the governments back.  Along the way he gets mixed up with a doctor and his sister, the sister being a mysterious prisoner of the government, one who has unknown powers.  So far, so good.  Episodic however, it falls apart.<br/><br/>Imagine Star Trek, only with many more overtones...... Sun, 30 Nov 2008 02:20:18 GMT http://www.viewpoints.com/Firefly-The-Complete-Series-review-967310 Typist5 3 http://www.viewpoints.com/Firefly-The-Complete-Series-review-386e2 I think "Firefly: The Complete Series" is one of the best, most unappreciated television shows that was ever out there.  The actors are spectacular together.  The show is a combination of old Western, science fiction, and comedy.  There are great one-liners that you have to be quick to catch.  Nathan Fillion is amazing as Captain Malcolm Reynolds, captain of a spaceship that is both rogue/somewhat shady and heroic.  I never watched the show when it was on television (though I heard the network aired the episodes out of order and that contributed to its cancellation), but I can watch the entire season straight through, over and over again.  I cannot recommend this television show enough!... I was really excited to watch this series when I borrowed the DVD's from a friend of mine. I was a Buffy and Angel fan, and I love the whole "life in space" idea. To have Whedon attack the space genre was wonderful. Unfortunately, I was sorely disappointed. I did watch the entire series out just sheer will (well, not the end of those I fell asleep during), but the entire experience just seemed to drag on forever. Maybe the length of the episodes contributed something to that effect, but I just couldn't seem to get into the "action" in the series. Sorry Joss.... Sat, 15 Nov 2008 15:39:07 GMT http://www.viewpoints.com/Firefly-The-Complete-Series-review-46ff10 shaulina 2 http://www.viewpoints.com/Firefly-The-Complete-Series-review-f3c610 <p>To be honest I'm not usually a great fan of the sci-fi genre in general but I stumbled upon the movie <em>Serenity</em> at the good ol' Red Box a while back and decided to give it a try.  I took an instant liking to the movie mostly because of the witty dialogue and great characters.  Afterwards, I went to IMDb and started looking at other films some of the actors also appeared in.  That's where I found <em>Firefly</em>.</p><p>My reaction to seeing the description of <em>Firefly</em> was: Wow!  There's a Serenity series too!?</p><p>I personally really enjoyed this series.  Having seen <em>Serenity</em>, I knew what to expect in the way of setting, mood, and humor in <em>Firefly</em>, so for me it was pretty much the prequel to a story that already had a very meaningful ending.</p><p><em>The Good.  </em>What I found to be really great in this series was definitely the fun witty remarks passed between the characters.  Much of the dialogue is stuff you can imagine real people saying and none of that scripted sounding exchange between characters.  The...</p>... Its naturalistic future setting, modeled after traditional Western movie motifs, presents an atypical backdrop for the science fiction narrative. Whedon served as executive producer, along with Tim Minear. Although there is only one season they did rap it up with a movie sequal. Sat, 16 Aug 2008 22:27:42 GMT http://www.viewpoints.com/Firefly-The-Complete-Series-review-68024 Cutiepuffin 5 http://www.viewpoints.com/Firefly-The-Complete-Series-review-d22d4 Who would have thought Western and Sci-Fi could mix?  This show is brilliant.  If you're into Sci-Fi at all, you will love Firefly.  If you're not, you may still love it.  To be honest, the first time I heard the theme song, I wondered why people liked that tune, but that song grows on you.  You will end up singing it.  The show itself is intriguing.  You root for the characters as you see them be both good and bad at the same time, because they are rogues and thieves with a conscience... except for one of them, but you see him <em>possibly</em> starting to develop one... and there's always good humor to be had as well.  If you'd like a negative about the show, I could mention that my husband finds the mechanic to not be a very believable character.  He does not think she could know was much as she does being as young as her character is supposed to be, but he is very into the show as well.  He's not generally into sci-fi, but after every episode, he wanted to see the next.  You will,......
