I've owned many guitars and keep coming back to this Stratocaster. Great sound from the smoothest blues chords to the crunchiest rock solos. ...

canadaspenguin13 says "nothing sounds better than a blues lick on this instrument!" about Fender Stratocaster

I first got into guitar 10 years ago. At first my guitar was bigger than I was...that didnt last too long. My first guitar was an old charvelle, not great, but good enough. After 5 years I wanted something better...a lot better. And went for an american made fender phat strat. Ive now had it for 5 years and have bought 4 other guitars since and the strat remains my favorite. I am a big blues player and it wails like nothing else can. I also play a lot of hard rock so the humbucker pick up is a must for me and I find it makes the guitar a lot more versatile in what kind of music it will sound good on. It plays everything from some twangy country to some hard rock. Fender strat is a must have for probably any guitarist....

DUISparky says "A timeless classic with built in versatility!" about Fender Stratocaster

Since its birth in 1954, the "Strat" has been one of the mainstays of modern rock, blues, jazz, and just about any other musical genre that actually uses instruments. (You all know the ones that don't!)

This review will be about the 2000 Fender Am. Standard Strat. There are numerous other varieties, but I'll stick to the basics.

The 22 fret neck gives you an extra fret for those extra high notes, sort of like Nigel's amplifiers that go to 11. It's actually nice to have that 22nd fret. My SRV Sig. Strat is a 21 and there are certain songs where I'm reaching for 22 and it isn't there. I wasn't quite sure, at first, that I'd like the feel of the maple fretboard, but it plays very smoothly. I also like the feel of the medium jumbo nickel/steel frets.

The controls are standard Strat fare: 5 way selector switch, 1 volume, 2 tone adjustment knobs. Fender uses what they call the Delta Tone System on this model, which provide higher output, and the out-of-phase middle pickup provides a humbucking...
...

Not just a Strat, it's a Fender Stratocaster, A leader in guitars for decades and decades

One of the most, if not, the most imitated guitar designs in the world.

Sleek design with a fretboard as soft as butter.
by far the most versatile six-string electric guitar ever made. whether it is blues, country, surf music, british beat, pop, or heavy metal, the stratocaster can do it all. i have owned mine since 1969 when i ordered it from the fender custom shop because in those days left-handed guitars were special order only....

The recently revised Standard Strat has a lot of new features. The frets, body and hardware has all been upgraded. It has never sounded better almost being as good as an American Strat. I recommend this guitar to anyone starting out or anyone who aspires to play an ax for years....

GeorgeChabot says "Fender Stratocaster: This guitar says "rock n roll!" " about Fender Stratocaster

Fender Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar

The Fender Stratocaster is one of the few and proud electric guitars that have stood the test of time in the American marketplace among professional and amateur musicians alike. The only other vintage guitar that can boast such a long and illustrious pedigree is the Gibson Les Paul, but that is the subject of another review.

Since 1946, Fender has produced electric guitars, the first was the Broadcaster, the forerunner of today’s Telecaster, Dave Davies of "The Kinks" played a ‘48 Broadcaster on the smash hit "You Really Got Me", which still receives wide airplay. The Broadcaster’s name was soon changed to Telecaster because of a trademark conflict.

The Stratocaster was designed in the year of my birth, 1953, with the first units shipping in 1954. In the ensuing nearly five decades the guitar has been imitated more than any other. First, the country and western swing players and rockabilly singers, most notably the ill-fated young Charles...
...
