tbolt6 says "DO NOT USE FTD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" about FTD

I wish I had read these reviews before I ordered. I will never use FTD again. Ever. Tell all your friends.

Background: I am in the military, and I am away from home a lot as you can imagine. The weekend of this order was my anniversary. I had to go to duty through that period. Now, my wife has cancer... not asking for sympathy, just so you understand how mad this made me.

So I ordered flowers via the FTD website for delivery on the day of our anniversary so she would know I was thinking of her, while she was sick at home from the after effects of chemo. Imagine my surprise when I got home and... nothing. My wife thought I had forgotten. No calls from the florist, nothing. So I emailed customer service... 48 hrs later they got back to me. In the meantime, they charged me and sent me a delivery confirmation email!

The customer service lame excuse was that "the shop isn't open on Saturday." When I asked why they had passed the order to a shop that wasn't open on the delivery date they had...
...

dymple says "Liars... I will never place an order with them anymore" about FTD

I order a vase of flower for my sister's birthday. It was supposed to be same day delivery for a Friday, but it never showed up. So I thought that maybe it'll show up the next day, Saturday, but still didn't show up. So then I waited till Monday. Called my sister and Mom and still nothing came. So I finally called customer service. The man I talk with lied and said delivery was attempted on Friday, but no one opened the door so they had to take the flowers back.... which I confirm with my family they were home all day on Friday. So then the customer service rep said that they'll attempt the delivery again which was already Monday and my sister's bday had already passed...urghh... Well anyways, I got a call later from the same man saying they couldnt find the addrs... Like WTF, how can they not find the addrs when they attempted the first delivery on Friday and said no one opened the door.. so I questioned him about that and he told me a different story.. He claimed the addrs was map quested...
...

soberlady50 says "Flowers looked nothing like the picture at FTD" about FTD

I ordered the pink miniature roses that FTD offered, by the time I paid for the flower and shipping and handling it was $75. I ordered them for a friend that has breast cancer. The website shows a nice rose bush, what was actually received was so small with no buds, I would not have paid $5 for it.

I contacted FTD and complained they apologized. No refund will be issued, no credit. I pray my friend never finds out how much money I spent on these. FTD says satisfaction guarenteed... not in this case.

I ordered a set of gifts for our 20th anniversary getaway. All came in on the date promised BUT the roses were sent from MIAMI - PROMISED FRESHEST FLOWERS ARRANGED BY LOCAL FLORISTS??? - AND, GET THIS, A note included said they were from a another country!!! No, the flowers did not look fresh, as they clearly were not, and they were wrapped tightly for the box with no water. They looked old and sad, needed lots of trimming and thinning, though it somewhat revived, still not "local" or "fresh."

Also in the order was a bouquet of 6 "I Love You" balloons - ONE WAS "WE LOVE YOU" !!! Now how can something so simple be messed up?! Helium was low next day on several balloons.

BEWARE! My over $200.00 of gifts had another 2 charges added to it, a SERVICE CHARGE and SHIPPING, adding almost $100.00 to the order!!!

NO FUTURE FTD ORDERS FROM ME!!! I RECOMMEND SHOPPING ELSEWHERE.
...

Leja says "Classic Bait and Switch FTD ordering" about FTD

As far as I'm concerned they should just have a general laundry list of flowers. This is clearly what consumers need to be protected from--typical bait and switch scheme. Their disclaimers are a joke. You are lucky if the titles & photos of flower choices correspond with what is delivered. I ordered "Bright Lights" tulips (photo depicted 12 multicolored brightly colored tulips) in a good looking modern vase. I received the palest pink and white tulips in the ugliest $1 store vase. The only thing that was consistent was that there were 12. So why not just list that you are ordering 12 tulips and the color is the discretion of the delivering florist? I don't get it.
...

deardraw says "Will never use FTD again." about FTD

Horrible company!

Placed an order on Tuesday for a Mother's Day bouquet to be delivered the day of or the day before to my mom who lives across the country from me.

My mom kept going outside to check and searched all around her house to see if they left them anywhere safe. My 5:30pm Mother's Day she still had not recieved them so I called customer service to find out what was going on.

Apparently the florist they tried to send the order to rejected it because they were too busy. FTD said that they tried to call me to let me know. Instead of calling my home number they called my work number at 5pm the day of the delivery but didn't bother to leave me a message. In the mean time I recieved 5 junk emails from them.

After talking with their customer service they said the would be happy to deliver the order on Monday or refund my money. After telling them how disappointed I and my mom were they offered to give me $10 off my $75 order...

Told them no thanks and that I will never use their company...
...

I love to send flowers and have never had a problem with ordering them online until I made an order using FTD. Though it wasn't my own money being spent, I was making the order for someone and didn't want things to turn out badly, regardless. Of my own fault, I accidently put in the wrong delivery date and didn't realize until I had confirmed and put through the order. Noticing my mistake I immediately called them to change the date. I was ordering a bouquet of over two dozen extravagant, deluxe edition of mixed roses for one person, and a dozen red roses for another person. When I called in about my mistake, the person on the phone with me was very helpful and assured me that everything would be taken care of immediately, not to worry. He sounded pretty sure of this fact, so I felt relieved and let it go and trusted the company to make it work. The one dozen red roses still arrived on the wrong date, which was highly upsetting. The other order, the supposedly insane amount...
...

jlo12500 says "I got the run around and am so mad!" about FTD

While I recieved the correct flowers, I did not recieve the correct vase. The vase they sent my flowers in was ugly and chintzy. When I called FTD they got in contact with the floral shop who delivered my bouquet. I was told by FTD that the floral shop did not have that vase in stock but would order it and redeliver my arrangement in the correct vase. So I waited a week and no flowers came. This time I called the floral shop and they had no plans to deliver my flowers. I was simply told that they just don't have that vase and should call FTD. So I called FTD and told them I want my flowers the way it was pictured online. They went on about their substituion policy and the best they could do is refund me $9 the price of the vase. So first I am told that I will get a new arrangement by FTD and then they tell me all they can do is give me a few dollars for the vase?? I just think that I should get what is pictured online. I am definately not happy!...

Eyerater says "FTD Flowers Online - Bloomin' disappointment" about FTD

A very special occasion in our family took place when our daughter-in-law was sworn in as a US Citizen. We thought it was a suitable event to celebrate with a bouquet of roses.

We found FTD on line and ordered a dozen roses delivered to her home in suburban Chicago. It was advertised as a "special" at $29.99.

Before I checked out, i received a shopping cart summary with $14.00 added for delivery. I was surprised and disappointed. After all, this is an online company. You would think they would have covered any delivery fees in their pricing notice. I don't expect them to include delivery in the price. I do expect, or would appreciate knowing about delivery extras, before reaching the shopping cart summary.

Still, that would not have been so bad except for disappointmnet #2.

They failed to include the card with the flowers. So the recipient did not know who sent the flowers. Not knowing that the card had been left out, we waited for acknowledgement by the recipient. (That's not why we sent......

I received an email link showing that FTD had a current offer for bouquets for $17.99 so I checked it out and was pleasantly surprised by the beautiful lily bouquet offered. I purchased one for our mother and it came with a free vase. She said the flowers arrived fresh and gorgeous. They actually were delivered one day ahead of schedule so that was a bonus. The only drawback for this experience was FTD does charge 15.99 for shipping/handling. The total cost was still less than what I have spent in the past with another online florist so I was ok with that for this time but I think that is a bit steep for delivery.
If they have another sale or bargain like that, I would definately take advantage of it.
...

I received mother's day tulips this year and they were the strangest tulips I had very seen. The flower heads were lovely, but the stems were curved in very unnatural ways. This made arranging them in a vase quite a challenge. Perhaps FTD needs to think about keeping lights directly over the plants to promote stems growing straight....

My birthday was the day before Mother's Day and my brother decided to kill two birds with one stone by sending me flowers. He selected very attractive, designer specific fresh cut tulips. When I received the delivery, I opened the package immediately. I was greeted with an odd smell. My Tulips were MOLDY! I called FTD and after being on hold for 20 minutes, the customer service representative apologetically informed me that they had sold out of my particular item. She was very helpful and courteous, searching for similar items and finally locating a tulip arrangement that also came with chocolate. BONUS!!! Now I would have chocolate for the birthday and flowers for Monther's day. She stated that my fresh delivery would arrive on Tuesday. Tuesday evening, I arrived home excited to see what the new arrangement would look like. But there was no package on my doorstep. I called customer service again, hoping that the delivery was just delayed and not stolen from my property. ......
