I flew on express Jetthis summer with a group of teachers. I had heard a lot of bad things about express Jet and was hesistant to fly with them. The flight was booked through a trip coordinator so I had no day in the matter.

I was so pleased with the service, the plane and the flight in general I would love to fly express jet whenever possible. There was a wide variety of snacks to choose from and the flight attendants were very efficient.

I also loved the fact that there was a TV in every seat with satellite television. Also accessablility to XM radio. This made the flight extremely enjoyable.
...

Pros:

Excellent communication, free meal and non-alcoholic beverage on board if the flight is over an hour, reasonably priced drinks (beer and wine), great service, plenty of leg room for economy

Cons:

No frequent flyer miles program anymore, limited flights

Summary: If you don't mind that you won't get frequent flyer miles and that there are limited times when you can fly, then I would highly recommend ExpressJet
...

we arrived at the airport about an hour before boarding time with my brother in law who was going home. 3 people in front of him. by the time he had the boarding pass he had 10 minutes to get to the gate and the clerk would neither take his luggage or call down to make sure the flight didn't take off. when he got to the gate they hadn't even unloaded the other flight and he had to wait and we had to ship his luggage to him. worst of all when i contacted express jet they were condescending and told me to allow more than 30 minutes. even though we had and i don't feel it is my fault they have only one clerk working who takes 50 minutes to deal with 3 travelers. i have never had these problems with bigger airlines and now that we have moved out of state noone of the family will be using them again. next time the least they could appologize and not make it my fault....

My company booked me on an Express Jet flight operated by Delta. I was scared when I only saw to seats on both sides and one flight attendant. I was pleasantly surprised! The flight attendant was probably the nicest and most attentive I've encountered. The flight offered a choice of yummy snacks, very nice job!...

I frequently fly from Louisville to RDU and take express by any chance I get, because they are really express and kind of affordable, also the planes are small and pack light and don't have to check in luggages, etc.. very easy. Wish prices were a little lower though.....

My 13 year old and I traveled from El Paso to Ontario June 18 for a mother/daughter getaway to Disneyland. We were so pleased with everything! The service was awesome. Imagine our surprise when we received FULL meals (Chicken wraps, baby carrots, cookies). The XM radio selection was awesome and made the time go by quickly. We are customers for life! Thanks Express Jet for making traveling an affordable reality for us!...

Are you tired of being moo cows to be shoved through chutes by rude gate agents at airports? Do you yearn for the days when the words "customer service" actually meant just that? Well, there is an answer: Fly ExpressJet. I am not connected to the airline in any way. I'm just a customer who, after putting her child on a flight as an unaccompanied minor, marveled at the treatment we received. The employees were kind, courteous, professional, efficient, and made my son feel at ease with their sense of humor. There must be a secret employee pool out there that ExpressJet hires out of, because we have flown many major carriers, and have never been treated this well. They put even Hawaiian Air to shame. ExpressJet (proverbially) rocks!
...

ejbst25 says "Only thing that could make it better would be TV" about Express Jet

After reading a recent review on American Airlines, I asked myself is there any airline which would rate 5 stars from my experience. Some trips I have had on Swiss Air would be close, but the flight was pretty expensive. The only airline that I was particularly impressed with the cost, service, amenities, and flight every time has been Express Jet.

I am an frequent occasional business traveler but not with such frequency that I have lots of status. Every so often I get status on American Airlines or Delta which means I flew 25k miles on their airline in a year. I have been on many of the US and foreign airlines and none have quite impressed me as much as Express Jet.

Now, I have to admit that while I have never had a problem with Express Jet I have also not flown the frequently enough to know if they have problems. But, its the only airline service which never has disappointed me for the price I pay.

Where to start? First, they are a discount airline with inexpensive fares directly...
...

It has been 2 weeks since we flew back from San Diego, CA. On our flight there, they lost our baggage. It was recovered from florida and we received it 3 days later.

On our return flight, we had to book other flights due to the connecting flights at our destination and Express jet not arriving on time.

We were promised refunds on our tickets as we picked up our luggage at the Express jet check in desk. On that promise, we proceeded to book another, on schedule flight so we were able to connect properly without missing another flight.

2 weeks and 35 phone calls later...our Express Jet customer service experience has now become a fully disfunctional relationship. It gets worse.

We are ready to divorce Express Jet and share our experiences with the masses.

Avoid at all costs...We cannot stress this enough. You will end up paying triple the amount in rebooking flights, trying to obtain a refund and pulling all of your hair out in the process.

Issues:

Loses luggage.

Claiming we are on a flight...that...

...

My son returned home from Iraq about 10 days before Thanksgiving after 18 months. We wanted to visit him and meet my 7 month old grandson. The airline prices were quite high, and I noticed Express Jet was a little cheaper and flew out of Kansas City and went to Raleigh/Durham, NC. I was quite apprehensive as I had never heard of them before. I always flew the "big jets".......so I decided to try it. I am so impressed with them, if I fly again you better believe I will try them first.

As soon as we boarded the stewardess stated that she would be serving breakfast (7:30) we had bagels with jam and juice. I was impressed. NO PRETZELS OR PEANUTS!! On the return flight they served us a sandwich with chips and drink. Way to go!!

It was a very comfortable trip. Not overbooked, and right on schedule. I will definately recommend them. I give a 5 Star Rating. Keep up the good work.
...

If you're lucky enough to live in one of the mid-size American cities served by ExpressJet, you can experience a very rare thing among U.S. airlines: a pleasant, hassle-free flying experience. I find a lot to like about ExpressJet: I like their "can do" attitude. I like their modern fleet of very comfortably appointed Embraer regional jets. I like their focus on DIRECT flights between non-major airports. I like their focus on on-time performance. I like that they can give me better airfares than Southwest WITHOUT having to sacrifice a simple snack in coach class or something as fundamental as an assigned seat (and of course, there's no cattle-call of a chaotic boarding process, which you're always guaranteed when you put up with Southwest).

In short, you can SAVE money on ExpressJet and STILL feel like a human being and not a lowly animal.

ExpressJet won't be for everybody. They don't fly big airliners: just regional jets. They also don't serve the big hub airports and they're not a viable...
...

I love this airline. My husband works for this airline. He is a Tech Maintance. So I know the planes are super safe. I love flying with this airline. The stewardess are always nice and always help me when I travel with all 3 of my girls. The pilots are nice and good at what they do. They always say hi to us as we board the plane and always give my kids a couple of show off time at the end of the flight. I have never had any problems on the flights. They have always gotten us to where we are going on time. If we happen to take off late, they speed a little safely get us there on time no matter what. This is a great airline. Yes they don't fly to enough places, but that is in the works. Plus seeing as they are branching off from Contiental, they have to fly to their own places....
