We bought this car seat for my daughter and she really loved it when we switched her from her baby carrier to this. I like the memory foam aspect of it. I feel like it is a much comfier ride than other car seats we looked at. I also like how easy it is to tighten the safely belt with the twist of a wrist, instead of searching for straps and pulling and struggling. The cup holders are also a bonus. What we don't like is the wideness of it. I have a big child and she doesn't even come close to filling in the sides. It just could have been more streamlined. I have had to sit inbetween this car seat and another, and there was NO room for me, and I am not that big of a person. The headrest is lacking support when the baby falls asleep. The babys little head flops everywhere. we feel bad for her. Also, I washed the cover, and though is was cleaner, it still didn't come out as clean as I would have liked. OVerall, we like it.
...

I decided to get this car seat for my daughter after an exhausting search. I LOVE IT! It fits great in our family sedan. There is plenty of room for 2 more car seats in the back seat plus this one. It is comfy, but does not offer several of the extras that more expensive brands offer (such as cup holders). It was very affordable, which was appealing to me, but it also had excellent safety reviews. My daughter seems very comfortable in it. The only problem I have is tightening the straps at times. They get twisted easily, and it can be difficult to get the straps evenly tightened. It goes up to 35 pounds rear facing, which is great since I plan on rear facing my daughter as long as possible. I would highly recommend this car seat to anyone looking for a safe, yet affordable car seat. It does not have all the bells and whistles as some of the pricier car seats in the $200-$300 range, but it does get the job done.
...

I recieved the Evenflo Titan 5 as a donations from the Regional Emergency Medical Services Authority. It seems to be very comfortable for my daughter as she falls asleep in it every trip. The one they gave me is in a tan color, which I don't recommend in this color because it was stained the first day. The straps are extremely easy to adjust and fasten. They adjust at one point, instead of having to loosen and tighten every strap individually. It goes rear facing up to 35 pounds and forward facing up to 50 pounds. If you are looking for a super fancy seat with all the bells and whistles like cup holders, fancy pattern, etc this is not the seat for you but if you are looking for a safe seat, that is budget friendly this is a great seat. Not cheaply made like some of the other budget seats. It is a little bulky, but not anymore than most seats. It is hard to fit this seat in the middle with my nephew's carseat next to it in our car. When he is using his booster only seat that he just grew...
...

AMC06 says "The Evenflo Titan is a ok backup/travel carseat" about Evenflo Titan 5 Car Seat

The evenflo titan convertible carseat is a good value being quite a bit less expensive than comparable carseats on the market. It's lightweight making it ideal for airplane travel (and lugging around the airports). I also don't mind using it as a backup seat for my husbands car, which my son doesn't use frequently.

I did find that the padding/cushioning is less than ideal. My ds who is 2 1/2 is okay in this seat, but I prefer a seat with more EPS foam and side impact protection like the Britax Marathon.

All in all it's a good value and better than nothing (as required by state law). But if you can afford it, take the plunge and get them a more comfortable & higher rated safety seat.
...

Marie12345 says "The Evenflo Titan 5 Car Seat is Horrible!" about Evenflo Titan 5 Car Seat

After my son was done with his baby car seat I wanted to get a seat that would last a long time and be safe. I researched them on Consumer Reports and the Evenflo Titan 5 was "supposed to be" one of the best.

This car seat has to be one of the worst car seats out there. I could NEVER get the belts to work properly. They were always getting tangled up and wouldn't go through the loops properly. Everytime I would get in the car to go somewhere I would spend a minimum of 10 minutes trying to untagle the belts. I NEVER felt like my son was safe. After a few months the belts finally got so bad that I called Evenflo and they told me they would swap it out if I wanted. I remembered that I had bought the "buyers protection plan" on it from BabiesRUs (which I highly recommend getting on a purchase this important) so I reported it to them. They gave me my money back for it. I would not recommend this seat at all.
...

My son loves the Evenflo Titan 5 carseat, he always has. He was in the infant seat until he was 6 months old, at which point he was to big for the infant seat so we had to get him a convertable seat. I loved how cushiony it felt and not hard and that he seemed to have no problem falling asleep in it in the car (which to me is a sign that if they can sleep in it is has to be confortable). I love that it is eas to clean, the seat cover comes of easily and is easy to put back on. I love that it does not have a cheapy look to it and that it is a nice looking seat. I like to get great deals on carseats and I had been looking at this one previously and when I saw it on sale I had to get it. Now my son is 2 and he still loves sitting it, we were going to get him a new seat that would have a higher weight limit but when we were at the store having him sit in the seats he said he wanted to keep his old seat. I will be keeping my son in this seat until he can not be in it any longer. I would definitly...
...

I got this at target when it was seventy five percent off. It was an amazing deal. It was only tirty dollars for the evenflo titan car seat. I am not a mommie but I av enew neice who was a premie so it was great that I found one that would hold a baby that was only 5 pouns and it will continue to take care of her ntil she is 50 pounds. It has a very nice five point ahrness and cup holders. Which are nice for me now for binkies and will be amazing for her when she gets bigger. IT has one one each side. One for a tippy cup and the otehr for french fries just liek I had when I was a toddler.

I think the most important thing for me was the safety of this seat. I took it to the state police check point and had them properly install it. It got an A on the crash test rating which was really very important to me. She likes te seat.

IT also does not have an overhead bar with is good because it makes it much easier for me to get her in and out of the seat.
...

We chose this carseat because it was one of Consumer Reports top picks overall. It is the only carseat I have used, so I can't compare it to anything, but I have been dissapointed. The latch system was hard to install and uninstall when needed. The straps seem to always be twisted and are hard to adjust. The fabric has become very "pilly" after only a few washs, and the cupholders are hard to install and made poorly (the snack holder has a hole in the back and the snacks easily fall through it). The pros are its safety rating, it seems to be comfotable and well padded, and it was a decent price....

My wife and I bought the Evenflo Titan V as it was the highest rated convertible car seat from consumer reports at the time we were looking. It was also a steal at the price. However, it wasn't a steal considering we only kept it in our primary car for about 2 weeks. This car seat is very difficult to use now that I have used another on the market.

Here are some of the problems we have had...
The Latch system is very difficult to get a hold of to tighen compared to its competitors. Imagine grabbing on to the middle of a seat belt and pulling with all of your might. Your hand slides and it doesn't end up tightening.

If you pull one shoulder harness, the other gets tighter. This makes getting the shoulders even very difficult. This added an extra 2-3 minutes every time we were getting in the car...which is truly horrible when it is raining. We didn't realize how difficult it was until we bought a Britax Roundabout.

We once pinched our daughters leg in the harness, OUCH! That left......

The Titan 5 is a good car seat for a reasonable cost. The safety ratings that I found on the seat prior to purchasing it made me feel confident that my daughter would be safe when riding in it.

The seat is comfortable for the ltitle one and can be used from infanthood into toddlerhood. For older babies and toddlers, the snack and cup holders are very convenient accessories.

My one main complaint is that the straps are not anchored at any point under the child's bottom which means that they can easily slip when the seat is empty, making it somewhat difficult to adjust them easily once the child is placed in the seat. This complaint would not prevent me from purchasing the car seat again or recommending it to a friend, however.
...
