I recieved this vacuum from my grandmother and when I looked at it I thought there was no way it could do what I needed. I have 2 cats and 1 dog and there are three adults living in the house. Also we have frequent visitors and a large house. We have hard wood floors, carpet, berber carpet and linoleum. I did not believe this could clean my house. I was wrong. I abosolutly love this vacuum. It says it is as powerful as a full upright and it is. The suction on this is the best I have ever had. It gets up everything even stuff my other vacuums left behind. It also works on the hard floors as well. I love that it is bagless and the filters do a great job. And it is so small it is easy to store and so light weight it is easy to use. I would recommend this to everyone.

I was skeptical at first about this vacuum(Eureka Optima) - because it was so small and lightweight. I fully expected to return this product after I tried it out.

To my surprise - it worked great and it is a pleasure to use because it is not heavy to push or carry around.

Thank you for purchasing the first 'Get Fit, Weightloss Eureka Vacuum!". I had just recently purchased a one bedroom Manhattan apartment - thus you can imagine the small size of it. Apparently I also ordered a work out apparatus. There are hardwood floors throughout the place. I purchased 2 rugs, one for my bedroom and one for the livingroom. Due to the nature of new wool rugs - they shed, A LOT. HOW THE HECK this vacuum is good with pet hair is BEYOND me! The first week I had this vacuum was great. Cleaning the filter sucked - but whatever, this is the price I pay right?

It wasn't too long until I started chasing the fuzz from my shedding carpets around the apartment with this vacuum cleaning instead of sucking it up. WOO!!! Fuzz marathons!!! Run , run, run!!! Quick! Make a sharp left turn... ooo make another!! What is this? NASCAR in my kitchen/living room area?? Hold on... need to take a breath... Perhaps a sip of water too. Okay... ready to clean again! ......

I have this vacuum, and I wish I didn't! It is always getting clogged, and when it does, every filter has to be pulled out and cleaned! You need a whole other vacuum just to clean the filters! I think that the Eureka Vacuum 431A might be okay for people without pets, or children, or long hair.... but I am not one of those people. I wish it worked out better for me, because the price was great... but it just wasn't meant to be....

I have a Eureka Optima Bagless Light vacuum that I like very much. I mainly use it in the kitchen and for light chores. It really does the job for me and I like it being bagless. I can just empty the canister and move on.

I have had a Eureka 431A Optima Light Weight Bagless Upright Vacuum for 2 years now and am quite satisfied with it. Although, the reusable filter will lose suction over time, this little vacuum is still pretty powerful. It picks up the cat hair (and my hair) better than all other vacuums I have had. It is very easy to remove the container that traps all the dirt, and with no bag to replace - it makes a quick cleanup a snap. Plus, it's so lightweight, that it's no problem if you have to carry the vacuum to the other end of your house for on-the-spot cleanup. You can also turn off the carpet brush and use it as a sweeper on your linoleum/hardwood floors. It's a twist of a knob to switch from floor to hose/attachments. Getting those hard to reach spots in the corner have never been easier!! All in all, I think this vacuum is a great value for the price!...

The Eureka 431A Optima Light Weight Bagless Upright Vacuum is small but powerful. I was lookng for a vacuujm cleaner that wouldn't take up much space but could get the job of cleaning done. I am able to not only clean up after my two kidsm with one on the way and my husband, but also after our pet who likes to chase dust, paper andd etc all over the house. I love the sleek style and the color green....

The Eureka 431A Optima Vacuum is an amazing cleaning machine and has the Good Housekeeping Seal Of Approval. I definitely agree with them. I bought one over a year ago for my kids to use upstairs in our huge brand new house which the upstairs is all carpet with the exception of the bathroom and I was amazed how my 9 yr old could make the carpet look so good. I often carried it downstairs to give the carpet a better cleaning than my cheap Kenmore vacuum cleaner. I felt it did a deep clean and I could actually see the carpet had been vacuumed. I have a dog with long fuzzy hair like a cat and it is amazing how much hair it picks up. Attachments are a plus too! I recently bought one for the downstairs and it fits really well in the hall closet which we also use as shelter when the weather is bad, it is approximately 34 in high with handle all the way down and about 11 in wide. My oldest recently moved out and needed a space saving vacuum to fit under a 38 in. shelf and this was...

This vacuum just works really well. It can get a bit clogged, but I suck up a lot of pet toy innards. So, it gets that up! I recommend it!...

I have never ever owned a vacuum that doesn't perform at all. You must empty it with each room you vacuum. The entire filter must be brushed out with something like a small toothbrush. So there you are having to stop what you're doing to empty the plastic container with dust & bacteria escaping all over the place and no way to properly clean the filter. Unfortunately I didn't return it within the 30 days so I'm stuck with this piece of junk. No more Eurekas for me. I had a more expensive one prior to this one and also had tons of problems with it for the first 3 yrs. Eureka you're taking the public for a BIG RIDE!!!

I thought this would be a great vacuum for the amount of vacuuming I do, but it couldn't even handle that!

The first place I used this vacuum (about 3 years ago) was a house with all wood floors except the dining room. I only used the vacuum on this small square of carpet for about a year. I then moved to a 2-story townhouse, and my roommate bought another Optima for upstairs, so I only used mine on our tiny living room. I then moved to an apartment with wood floors, and only used this vacuum on our area rug in the living room.

After only using it lightly for 3 years, it suddently just quit working. The motor just burned out. Interestingly, my roommate (who now lives in another apartment since I got married) had hers burn out a few weeks later (her vacuum was even newer). These are just not quality vacuums.
I had other problems with it as well; the dust cup never filled up, but it seemed to quit sucking after one use on the area rug. I had to clean the filter much too often. ......

You get what you pay for. Or, in this case, you get even LESS than you pay for. It seemed like such a good idea -- an affordable, lightweight vacuum for our not-so-big upstairs area. We wouldn't have to lug a vacuum up and down and it would be so much more convenient for small messes. Wrong, wrong wrong wrong wrong. For the price, I guess it would be ok for a small apartment with the same flooring throughout. It's manageable -- if you HAVE to. However, I'd highly recommend taking a step up and getting a vacuum that will actually work on different types of flooring and that SUCKS rather than blows....

I am currently a homeowner, looking to downsize in the near future. Since my older vacuum was not doing a good job anymore, I began to look. I was skeptical that I would find a smaller vacuum with decent power, but I did in this compact, bagless Eureka Optima. I'm very satisfied....

I didnt expect much of this vaccuum cleaner but it has done surprisingly well in our little apartment. I especially like the part that is bagless, no searching for specialized bags for it its just vaccuum and dump very easy. Used this every day for over 6 months and its working as well as the first time i used it....

I've had this vacuum for over two years, and it still works great. I'm not sure how durable it would be for large homes, with lots of pet and people traffic, but I have an ultra-shedding cat and long hair, and it puts up with me just fine :)

Hair does get stuck in the brushes, and I have to make sure I clean it out every 5th or so time, but I think that kind of stuff is to be expected. The only thing I don't like is that I have a hard time finding the replacement filters. I bought the vacuum at Target, but they don't carry them. I finally did a google search and found them at Best Buy. Of course, you can probably order them online without a lot of hassle, but I figured I'd save on shipping charges... the only thing that would make this vacuum better for me would be a reusable filter.

The adjustable handle makes it so easy to find a convenient storage place for it.
