Wow, where to start with this vacuum? We bought this vacuum at our local "supercenter" because it was on sale and fairly inexpensive. I was excited to try the self-cleaning duster, and I'd never owned a bagless vacuum before.

Well, when we got it home I immediately tried it out. Boy, was I disappointed. What a joke. This vacuum doesn't pick up anything except pet hair. Crumbs, small pieces of paper, dirt, kitty litter...anything you would want to vacuum up gets left behind on the carpet. As I mentioned before, it does pick up hair like a champ. However, this vacuum has a yellow plastic "filter" inside the vacuum above the dirt container that collects all of said hair. The filter is difficult to remove and replace (it twists up into and down out of place) because it has to go back into the vacuum just so. To see it you have to tip the vacuum back and stare up into the front of the machine. On top of that, if there is enough hair on the filter it will block everything...

I have had this vacuum for two years. It worked well the first week. The duster cleaner will not spin to clean off the dust. The tools that are on board always fall off when vacuuming. The vacuum has clogged many times, and it spits out dirt more than the usual vacuum does. Overall, I am very dissappointed....

Just as long as the vacuum is cleaned properly once a week, it packs a great punch. I live in a two bedroom apartment with my husband and two year old and I'm constantly cleaning especially because of my daughters allergies. Usin this vacuum everyday keeps the allergic reaction under wraps while keeping my carpets free of loose dirt. The downfall to this vacuum is on bare floors it is most likely to move around dirt rather than pick up....

After the bottom of my sweeper (5 years old) fell out, I needed a sweeper fast. I have always wanted a Dyson, but can't seem to get myself to spend that amount of money on a sweeper. This is when I decided on the Eureka Altima with the telescopic wand. I thought that would be wonderful since I have ceiling fans in almost every room of my house...no more climbing on ladders to clean them! I also liked the feature of bagless...less mess. My sweeper was ordered online and I couldn't wait to start sweeping (sad I know. ha!) I swept the living room and was very impressed...and also a little disgusted on how fast the canister filled up with dust bunnies, etc. I guess my old sweeper wasn't as good as I thought! Anyhow, I headed into the kitchen and dining room that have wood floors. This sweeper stated that is was perfect for wood floors. I DISAGREE. It would shoot little pieces out the back and didn't seem to pick up even the smallest pieces. It is almost as if the sweeper...

love it! i go through vaccums every 6 months and this is the only one that has lasted longer than that. I have 3 busy active kids that are always making a mess and I vaccum 2 and 3 times a day at least 5 days a week. would definatly recomend it. I love the self cleaning duster, long cord and its great for all floors. ...

MANY people think Bagless Vacuums are TERRIFIC just because they're convient as far as not purchasing bags. Well they're not!

You don't realize that when you empty out the cup, all that dust, hair, etc. gets in the air. I will NEVER purchase a bagless Vacuum for that reason. Have I seen the dust, hair, etc. get in the air? ABSOLUTLEY YES! My friend has a DYSON Bagless Vacuum and she emptys her cup VERY carefully. She emptied her cup VERY slowly and we still saw from dust going in the air. She is not the only other person I have seen this happened to. This is not good especially for people who have allergies.

So in my opinion, I will continue to stick with my VERY loyal "Eukeka The Boss Lite 12 AMP" Vacuum that I have had for approximately 6 years; and YES it has a bag.

My previous vaccuum was the Dirt Devil bagless. I hated that thing - the filter was always dirty and cleaning the cup was messy! This vaccuum is a breeze in cleaning the cup and all other attachment. I have 2 dogs and a cat and there is hair everywhere! Cleaning my living room (19x12) took 3 full cups of junk from my floors in just a few days! I was amazed! The ease of use of this vaccuum is excellent. It is self propelling and it doesn't suck up your throw rugs either! I would highly reccomend this to anyone needing a good suction vaccuum at a lower price. My MIL has the Dyson and I don't think that is even as good as this one - too hard to push! ...

This vacuum is a total waste of money. It broke down after the first use. I was very careful with my new vacuum. I made sure the floor was free of any objects other than the usual pet hair. After using the vacuum on one large oriental rug (no fringe), and the surrounding hard wood floor, the machine stopped working. The brush stopped turning, so I assume the belt broke and it wouldn't suck up anything but my time. I never even got to try the "power paw", or the self cleaning duster. It was overheating as well, and I noticed that when pulling out the bagless canister alot of dust covered the machine and my hands. Very messy to change. Dirt falls into the cracks of the "locking" device on the bagless cannister. I noticed this after just one application. I can't imagine what would happen to the locking device after many uses. Thankfully I purchased it at Sam's Club and they are willing to take the vacuum back for a full refund. I will now look for a much better machine. ...

THis vacuum is awesome - it has the duster thing built into the side that allows you to take out the duster use it and then put it back in the chamber to have all the dust sucked off. IT is lightweight and really cleans well for the money!...

This vaccuum is ok. Worked well for a while and then quit picking up anything. Replaced the belt and now is working ok again but seems like the belts need to be replaced every 3 months or so.
It is also heavy and does not work on bare floors at all

Not totally happy with my eureka, the belt has broken twice in 8 mos. I keep belts on hand now. Also, accidentally rolled over the cord, which damaged it, now I hold the cord. It does clean well and the best feature is bagless and being able to wash the filter....

When I bought this vacuum I thought it looked cool and loved that it has a self cleaning duster and it would clean like a dream. Boy was I wrong. It was always blowing out dust (I checked for clogs and that wasn't the case), the screws that held the cover above the wheels would always vibrate out. The self cleaning duster didn't self clean. It did a poor job sucking up pet hair and any little items that could be vacuumed up. Towards the end it wasn't dust blowing out, it was smoke and that was just having it on for less then a min. It over heated fast and belts were always breaking. Good thing those were easy to change. It spit items back out the back end. The beater bar didn't work half the time and the attachment with the beater bar for furniture didn't work at all. This vacuum lasted less then a year, and I had nothing but issues. I would stay away from this vacuum if you are in the market. Looking cool doesn't always mean the product will work, as I learned with this vacuum....

I just recently bought this vacuum on the advice of my daughter. Yes, it does pick up pet hair very well, but for bare floors its horrible. Throws sand and dirt back at you from underneath. I have to clean the filters after every vacuuming and I vacuum a couple times a week due to pet hair. Its the fine sand and dust that gets stuck in the sponge filter that clogs it up and won't let it pick up for the next cleaning if I don't do this. Its ok for a inexpensive quick fix, but if and when I get new carpet I will definitely be buying a new better vacuum....
