I love this vacuum. I have a step-son and 3 nieces and 1 nephew that stay in my house quite a bit and also a dog and 3 cats. I try to vacuum 1-2 times a week and everytime I do I am amazed at the dirt this thing picks up. Yes, the yellow filter above the dirt cup clogs occasionally but if you vacuum more often and don't let the hair, dirt, dust, etc build up it will not get clogged. The only thing that I would change about this vacuum is how the hose is connected at the bottom of the vacuum leaving less hose to work with. On the other hand, the power cord is plenty long enough for you to move around the room. I am actually looking for another of the same vacuum because the one I have is about 3 years old and I know that it is not going to be available when I need it whenever this one does go. I have not had a single issue with it in 3 yrs. I would highly reccomend this vacuum!!

I realize this is an inexpensive machine-I have no children or pets so cleaning should be easy. After every use as I wade through emptying the dust from the cup and dust off the machine I find it not worth the time and trouble.The Eureka Ultima looks good in the store-dont waste your money.

I went in looking for a replacement for a vaccum that I had bought just two months prior. I found it in the eureka altima. This vaccum picks up everything! I love the on board tools it picks up pet hair and I mean pet hair I have 2 dogs that love my sofa. The self cleaning duster is great and I don't feel like it is just going back in the air because it goes in the vaccum. It has a cord that is long enough to get the job done and not have to keep stopping to plugit into another outlet. It is very easy to use and I haven't had any issues with this vaccum thankfully. The unit is easier to empty than most and the filters are easy to access and change. The only thing that I would really change is the hose length for the on board tools it is a little on the short side but there is an extender. This vaccum it light enough for everyday use but heavy duty enough to clean up big messes. For the price this vaccum really stacks up.

I've only had this vacuum for about 3 months and I'm ready to throw it away. It is not worth the trouble it takes to constantly unclog it. I've just about taken it completely apart looking for reasons why it loses suction. I've cleaned out everything. It will work fine the next time I use it, but after one use, it's back to losing suction and spitting dirt back out. Today, there was a cloud of dirt coming out the front and from the side. I keep the dirt cup emptied. Also, having to reach up above the cup and pull out the yellow gizmo is a pain in the butt. It's hard to line back up. The filter seems to need to be cleaned after every use. One other problem, it's very heavy and not easy to use on steps. The hose doesn't want to come out very far. I seriously have never had this much problem with any other vacuum. And it's also the most expensive I've ever bought. I will stay away from Eureka from now on. A brand new vacuum should NOT be this much trouble.

I've had this vacuum for 2 years. It worked ok for the first couple times, after that it has been nothing but problems. I hate it more everytime I use it. I have to take apart the hoses and clean them out after every use because they get plugged up with cat hair. I've never had that problem with any other vacuum. It seems to just move stuff around instead of sucking it up and as soon as I turn it off, the stuff I vacuum falls right back out onto the floor.

Despite my sound bite, I did LOVE this vacuum until the third month of ownership. The motor runs hot, the filters MUST be changed more often than 6 months ( $20.00 & $14.99) and it is SOOOOOOOOO LOUD!The hose comes out of it's holder while you are using it. Do yourself a favor DO NOT BUY! I am currently researching for a new vacuum and thought I would share my experience with the Eureka Altima Bagless Vacuum.

this Altima vacuum is terrible.
while it does a great job with the suction part - whoever designed this thing must have never used it or tested it.
It is top heavy, and falls over easily. Tools do not fit together at all, the just seem to nest or rest within each other making them fall apart easily all over the place.
Wand (nice idea) but does not stay in holder, again - it just sits there. Nothing is firmly connected. Vacuum hose is so tight that you can not extend out more than a foot or so when using tools - overall rating is below poor for design....

I purchased this vaccuum about two years ago. I used it and noticed it would kick back the dirt, making it more time consuming to vaccuum. I exchanged it for another of the same model, and the second one did the same thing. I emailed the company and told them this, including that I had exchanged it and the second one had the same problems, and they simply emailed me back telling me to take it to a service shop. Shop was too far away from me, and I shouldn't have to take a brand new vaccuum to be serviced....

This vacum is the best ever I can not believe the amount of pet hair it will pick up. The canister is easy to empty and the filters are easy to clean. I do wish it got coser to the baseboards. The duster is handy, it is one less excuse not to do it if it right there. I LOVE this vacum....

The Eureka Altima Bagless Vac is great, it is the first bagless Vac I have had and I love it! I was so tired of buying bags for my Kirby, switch went out on it and was too expensive to fix so off I went to buy a new vac with bagless on the top of my list. The first time using it on rug that I thought was pretty clean absolutly shocked me!! The amount of dirt it got out of the rug was amazing, I also like the washable foam filter, I purchased extra pkg of filters, had 2 in a pkg so that I could always have on available clean and dry, ready to go. I have cats so I like the power attachment for getting up the hair off furniture. It is not real heavy so that is a plus also (the Kirby weighed a ton!). I also like the cool duster that is attached to the side of it, makes quick work of cleaning off a ceiling fan or running across the blinds and then just stick it back in it's holder, and with the push of a lever it spins itself clean! I wish I had replaced my other Vac a long time......

We bought this Eureka Altima cleaner because of the different attachments and because of the reviews I had seen on-line for it. It has been a great vacuum, to date. It really cleans up the pet hair and the bagless canister is very neat to clean, unlike the vacuum we had prior to this one. There is little or no mess when emptying the canister. The canister doesn't hold a huge amount, but the ease to empty it makes that less of a problem than one may think. This vacuum is easy to push. I love the attachment for furniture and stairs as well. The only part I do not care for is the duster portion. It doesn't seem to pick up the dust as well as the good old hand and dust rag does. Overall, I would recommend this cleaner to anyone looking for something affordable....

the filters and other replacement parts are hard to find. And they need to be changed frequently but it is worth it....

The Eureka Altima ran great at 1st for us , but as the year went by, the suction went for the stair cleaner(one reason we bought this vacuum). Then the vacuum itself just stopped working as well. It lost its great suction that it had at 1st. I am very disappointed in this product. Eureka has let me down on this one....

The Eureka Altima 12 amps vacuum is very impressive. We live in a part of the desert where the soil is a refined clay, so it not only gets onto (and into) everything, it adheres itself. So lots of vacuuming amongst other things is an absolute necessity. And the Eureka handles it extremely well. Very durable product. The self cleaning duster wand is a bit of a hassle to operate, but it does work.The vacuum cup holds a lot of dirt, and in itself has a strong motor. It has multiple cups and filters that should it become plugged up, it most likely has to do with either washing off the filters or dumping a cup. Very simple. The "power paw" upholstery cleaner, as does the attachment hose, have a lot of suction to it. I am very impressed with the Eureka vacuum! Thanks Eureka!!!
