You can't be honest because if you are, you get slammed with negative feedback and there is no recourse. So, after all your hard work to keep your reputation pristine, one angry person can destroy all that work. Etsy does nothing. It has a Kiss & Make Up feature, which is laughable.

We discovered this site about a year ago and heard about it on National Public Radio... it is truly a gem of a site showcasing talented artists that might not have otherwise been found. In a day that some folks tire of the mass producing superstores, this site is a throwback to a time in which boutique shops brought individuality, uniqueness, and creativity to the consumer. The consumer is well served for shopping for an item that is handmade and unique at prices that are both great for the consumer and respectful of the artists' creative work. Absolutely a gem of a site.

Etsy is a great concept. However as a seller, I have found that there are just too many sellers. New stores get lost in all there is to look at. If your product is not very unique, you will just become part of the crowd. It is fun to see what everyone has to offer and what is offered locally or maybe in a state where you used to live. If you're looking for a one of a kind item, you'll find it on Etsy. However, as a seller I would say to anyone thinking of selling on Etsy to take a long pause and follow the site for several weeks and do your homework. If there are similar items to what you wish to sell already offered watch and see how these items sell or don't sell. I've watched the site for some time now and wish I had done more of it before I jumped on board. Even though I have one of a kind items, I would say there are equally unique items in the same catagory being offered. I've watched the stores that have 'yet to be discovered' vs. the stores that just sold an item, and......

Etsy.com is a great site for those who appreciate handmade items. This site includes mini sites for those selling their handmade items. This site allows users a one stop shopping experience for any type handmade items that you can imagine. This site saves alot of time in doing searches or looking on ebay for handmade items.

I could spend hours browsing this site. Etsy is organized, allows multiple pictures added to individual sites, and also has space for feedback for users.

This site definetly needs more publicity so that more people can experience this online shopping. This site is like going to local trade fairs of handmade items. It saves time and money. With all the different items, it allows you to comparison shop from your home and save time, effort, money on goods, & gas.

Anyone that hasn't ever visited this site should do so now. Once you do, you will definetly visit the site again. A great site to use for holiday purchases.

I needed coasters and didn't like any I had found in stores, so I somehow found etsy. They had a great variety of really unique items. I ended up buying some gorgeous coasters from one of the artists (Vicki, through her company, Tzaddi). The post office messed up the delivery and Vicki was helpful in figuring out what happened and offered to send me new ones if the original package wasn't found. It eventually got worked out and the coasters are so beautiful and unique. I ended up buying more from her as gifts for my in-laws.

Etsy.com is a website to buy and sell all things homemade (and vintage and supplies). I was reading an article in Good Housekeeping while at a doctors office and read about a girl who made and sold handbags. She was able to quit her job and sell her products full time from home. That interested me because I had recently begun to make my very own type of art, paper cutting, and was thinking about selling it. Everyone at my old office was requesting custom pieces for their cubicles.

As I looked into Etsy.com, I fell more and more in love with it. There are no startup fees, your store front is customizable, and it only costs $.20 (that's 20 cents) to list an item for 4 months.

The site is filled with artists homemade creations from jewelery to puppets, and greeting cards to cupcakes. I get lost on the site "window" shopping. It is very easy to navigate both on the buyer and...

Etsy.com is the next wave of internet shopping.

Far more personal than eBay, items are handmade or vintage, and many of the sellers offer personalization on items, and will do custom orders.

Pricewise, many sellers are very reasonable, although a few do charge a bit more than would be expected for art pieces.

Some of the great features of Etsy include the ability to mark sellers AND items as favorites, so you can revisit them later.

Search capabilities are great on Etsy: there is a convenient sidebar where you can search by color, new items, handpicked, etc. You can also type in keywords for items, item descriptions, and sellers.

It can be slightly overwhelming to see so many great items in once place, but if you take the time and have a little patience, you're sure to find the perfect thing.

I've found several great gifts on Etsy and definitely look to this site first for unique deals.

I have brought from etsy.com a number of times and would definately do so again. No, this is not a 'bargin' website, but sellers generally price their items reasonably and affordably. It is a website for the intriguing and unique amoungst the homely and cute... all of which are generally of excellent quality.

One thing you can always count on when buying from etsy's sellers is honest and quick buyer-seller communication. Sellers on etsy remember that shopping is meant to be an enjoyable and social experience!

In the last couple of years I have heard alot about Etsy. I had logged on a few times and saw some really cool stuff available. The bulk of items offered on this site are vintage and handcrafted items, but you can also find antiques, crafting supplies and other items. Anything you can think of that can be handcrafted is sold on this site. It is amazing the creativity of folks!!!

A friend that I have made online thru another website recommended that I sell some of my stuff on Etsy. I tried a couple of times to list items but was used to the format of the other online site and got frustrated. Once I figured out that I needed to compress my pictures and smoothed out a couple of other issues, it now seems like a piece of cake.

The clientel on Etsy are much classier than on other sites. Additionally folks are SO friendly on this site it is unbelievable. I have found this from a buyer's standpoint as well as a seller's standpoint. So far every contact I have made with people...

As both a seller and consumer on etsy for the better part of 3 years, I can say with much experience that the vendors, for the most part, are reputable, hard working people who stand by their products. The products are, for the most part, as described and well made. The rub, however, is with the "etsy team", or management personnel. If you are a vendor be prepared to be subjected to abuse galore. The rules are not for the "etsy team" to follow, but rather interpret at whim. Finally, if you are a minority of any ethnicity and make no efforts to conceal such, be very prepared for targeting and profiling. You will have your shop shut down while you are on vacation, items deleated without an explanation, and harrassing emails without provocation.

So, in a nutshell-the sellers are wonderful. The "etsy team" or those in power at etsy are abusive.

Ah, Etsy. My very favorite place to browse online! I have been in love since day one with this site. It's overflowing with the very best from the art world, and there are so many things to look at!

Etsy is easy to use, I sometimes use the search feature if I'm looking for a particular item, or I also love to browse through the treasury. Seeing what other people love on Etsy is especially fun! When purchasing items, the checkout is easy and fast, and communicating with sellers is easy using the conversation feature.

Selling on Etsy is easy too! The fee's are small (especially compared to some other online selling sites!) and posting your items for sale is super simple. If you ever have any questions, visiting the forums is an easy way to find an answer.

Whether you are selling fabulous handmade items of your own or are looking for a unique, one-of-a-kind piece of art to purchase, you'll enjoy Etsy!

I am a fan of Etsy.com and check it out regularly because you can find many unique crafts that people make for sale there.I found it easier to use then Ebay for searching out crafts and I have also found some really creative items that I could make for my own use on this site. If you are a crafty person yourself this is a great site to sell your own items as well. They were actually featured on one of the national morning shows as a way to supplement income in these difficult times. The talent that some of the crafters have is amazing and I always enjoy looking at it. It is as much fun browsing this website as it is visiting a neighborhood craft fair, actually it is better because of the number of sellers on the site you could spend a long time just browsing. Most of the prices I have seen are fair considering the amount of time, materials, and talent that go into these crafts. If you are looking for creative and unique gifts it is a great place to start the hunt.
