We looked for about 2 weeks before purchasing The Essential Home Pine bunk beds for our kids. They went on sale and that closed the deal. They were a good price, and then the extra money saved that they were on sale went towards the sheet sets for them.

We purchased The Essential Home Pine Bunk Beds in White, brought them home, unpacked the box and got to work. It was a bit tedious putting the slats into the head & foot boards (not to mention the small styrofoam pieces that cushion the bottom of each slat) but overall it was pretty easy to follow the directions and construct it (between the 2 of us) within approximately 2 hours.

The beds seem very sturdy and the kids love them. Due to the marks on the white boards that needed to be cleaned off and that the cross slats are not painted (not that anyone other than the kids on the bottom bunk sees it) if I were to do it again I would probably choose the wood over the white pained one.
...

I needed to buy a bunk be quickly which ment I was on a tight budget. I really wasn't expecting much when I started my search. I was not at all surprised that I didn't find anything on ebay. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I found this bed at Kmart of all places. It is holding up well to my ruff 4 year old boy. I'm now thinking it might actually last into his teens. It was also very easy to put together....
