I bought this after my daughter hated the little bath chair I got for my baby shower. She got too cold in it. None of my three have used that one, but all have used this Escpecially For Baby bath sponge.

It fit perfectly in out $5 Ikea tub and dried quickly if you squeezed it out really well. I folded it up and wrung it out.

I did need to replace it for my third since it got rather worn from use and wringing.

I bought each of mine for $4, and thought that it was one of the best purchases I made for my baby.
...

uscgirl says "Especially for Baby comfy bear bath sponge essential for newborn" about Especially For Baby Comfy Bear Bath Sponge

The especially for baby comfy bear bath sponge is a fantastic item for first time parents. Bathing a newborn for the first time is always a daunting challenge. I was really afraid of that first bath. This sponge really helps to make it easy and safe to bathe your newborn. You can use it easily in the ktichen or bathroom sink without having to lug out a huge bathtub. YOu simply lay the baby on it and bathe. He's protected on the soft sponge and you don't need to completely submerge him. There are a couple of drawbacks. These can get expensive as you constantly have to replace them. After a while, they may gather mildew so you have to make sure to wring out completely and hang to dry which can be a bit of a hassle. This sponge is also convenient for those parents who are short on space and don't have the room to store a large baby bathtub or those who feel more comfortable simply bathing in the kitchen or bathroom sink. A few drawbacks but overall a thumbs up at least for newborns.
...

Granted, my daughters first bath was is a hospital basin (see my pics!) but after she came home we tried the basic tubs, then one a friend reccommened, and then the sink....we purchased this on a whim, doubty Izzy would be impressed with a bear shaped piece of foam. WRONG. She loved it! It feels safe and secure with scooped sides, but also alows her to move her arms and legs freely! All that for just $4! Wish we had used this Bear Bath Sponge from the start. Sometimes simple is best! Just wring it out really well and hang to dry!...

We had gotten a hand-me-down infant bath tub and I'd used it for several weeks with much frustration, when my friend (an OB Nurse) recommended this bath sponge. The first time I tried it was incredible...i actually enjoyed giving my 1-month old a bath. The sponge lays flat in the bath tub, I run about an inch of warm water and then lay her on the sponge. She stays in place since the sponge has an indented section that's in the outline of a baby, the sponge doesn't slide around in the tub, and since she's laying flat and stable, I can use both hands to give her the bath.

Using the infant bath I originally had required one hand solidly on her at all times to keep her from slip-sliding from side-to-side. The sponge is also SO easy to store and clean. I just wring it out after her bath and it dries quickly. Since it's small and flexible I can store it anywhere I want - no hassle. The infant tub was hard to store in our small bathroom closet.

My daughter seems a lot happier with the sponge...
...
