I think the Escort Passport Radar Detector is fantastic for any one that is on the road a lot. It can actually save you money if you are a speeder. It can warn you fast about a patrol officer in the area where you may be. It will be your best friend....

The Escort-Passport 8500 Radar Detector, seems to be able to prove what it claims. A very unusual thing, when it comes to radar detector. If you have to drive above the speed limit, then this is what to get, instead of a ticket. Not all detectors are full proof, but if you have a need for speed, and cant afford to pay the penalties, Escort is my best recommendation, priced reasonable as well....

I have owned the Escort Passport 8500 radar detector for four years. During this time, it has proven to be an outstanding purchase. It is easily operated, the controls are relatively simple to use, and it works extremely well. I primarily use it to monitor the highways (really!) instead of purposefully speeding. It always gives an early alert, and very few false alarms. Escort has advertised the fact that it is upgradeable, however I have yet to see any offers from Escort in this arena. Nevertheless, this is one fine product. Although it is not cheap ($350 at the time I purchased mine), I would buy another one. This is actually the second Escort that I have owned....

I'm on my second Escort 8500. The first went missing when my car was stolen. I got the car back but of course the Escort was missing.

This is a great unit. One of the best features is the ability to customize the sound and display. The unit also allows you to turn off certain alerts which helps when in congested areas. The 3.5mm sound out jack is a must have for my application. I use it on my motorcyel and my cars.

I've had to use the customer service a few times and they have been very fast to respond. Also when you call Escort customer service you are calling the United States. Imagine that!

This radar detector works wonderfully in all types of terrain. Mountains, Valley's, City and country. Most detectors will beep like crazy while you are travelig around city's givig you false alerts. This unit is the most accurate unitb that I have ever used. Worth the money. I borrowed a friends and now will save up to purchase my own. A must have for seasoned travelers!...
