Eragon, the movie is so captivating. If you take your eyes off, you miss something. I can hardly wait until the next chapter is done. The book is riveting and I can not wait until book 3 and 4 come out. From what I have heard about book 3, there was to much for one book, so the author is making a fourth book. Way to go. The author captures your imagination and keeps it until the very end of the book.
...

jojopuff says "Don't even bother--you'd get more out of the book." about Eragon

Let me start off by saying that I fully understand that there is no way humanly possible to fit every single detail from that book (and a lot of other books) into a feature-length movie. It just can't happen. Now, Peter Jackson (the director of the Lord of the Rings movies) and his screenwriters did an absolutely phenomenal job adapting from the books to create the movies. Did he leave parts out of the movies that were in the books? Absolutely. And that's okay, because the movies at least did the books justice and would have made Tolkien proud. The movie Eragon, however, does not even come close to doing the book justice and I bet Christopher Paolini wanted to cry himself to sleep after watching it. I know I would have if I had been the author.

Okay...so the movie started out decently, but went downhill fast. There was absolutely no character development whatsoever. You just kind of meet this farm boy and his family, and then it goes into the next scene. That happened throughout the...
...

The book was so amazing that I expected more out of the movie. I think they should've made it a longer, epic movie or two movies in order to get all of the story. There were a lot of script differences as well. It was good, but left me feeling disappointed....

moms2cents says "Read the book" about Eragon

My 11 year old daughter recently finished reading the book (rule in our house: read the book first). She just had to have the DVD for Christmas. We watched the movie together. Personally I found the movie to be rather boring (to be fair fantasy movies are not my favorite). However, the actors are very good and there is some good scenery. I'm sure it was much more exciting on the big screen.

Having read the book, my daughter kept pointing out the differences. It was a big disappointment for her since she really enjoyed the book. At the end she explained how the movie really didn't explain what was happening and didn't show many of the details. In the book events would take several days, however, in the movie the event seems to take only hours or a day.
...

brandifrog12 says "A Dragon of a Different Color" about Eragon

My husband and I went to see this movie, hoping for some good action, a good plot, and of course, a memorable dragon. We were so enthralled, we saw the movie twice, signed up for pre-order and have watched it at least once per week at home.

Every time we watch it, we see something else that grabs our attention. It seems like a predictable, run of the mill movie, but again, the more you watch it, the more you want to watch it. We're really hoping for a sequel (or prequel). I think this could be as big as the Lord of the Rings Triology!

Eragon is the chosen one in the movie. He starts as a young farm boy and ends up as a legendary dragon rider. Sephora, his dragon is absolutely captivating! Aria is mysterious, yet a strong warrior. It is obvious that Eragon is in love with her, even after only brief, trechorous encounters.

The end of the movie gives an opening for both a prequel and a sequel. I sure hope it won't be over 20 years like Star Wars was....

A movie that teenage...
...

agentk says "by the right of inheritance this movie is good" about Eragon

the movie follows the line of the first book of the inheritance trilogy, and is a fantastic movie unless you have read the book, in wich case you will most likely be disapointed in how it verys from the book.Brom and eragon are both played by very talented actors, and this movie has excellent fighting scenes, wich is probably what saved the movie from being a disaste, but overall when you add it all up this movie was really qiute good....
