You can buy this directly from Epson for around the same price as a set of ink cartridges. It has a small footprint, slots for all media cards, good color output, and it prints quickly. There is a problem finding compatible ink cartridges that work with this machine, so purchasing ink can get expensive.
...

I own an Epson CX8400. I received it as a Christmas gift three years ago. I absolutely love it. This printer does everything! It prints, scans, and copies. It can be used as a fax machine. You are able to print pictures right from your computer or your camera. It also has an SD Card slot for you to print your pictures. The quality of the prints is excellent. I love having the convience of printing remarkable pictures right from the comfort of my own home!!!! It obviously can print in color and in black and white. I was suprised to see that it doesn't go through ink cartridges to fast. I had mine for a year before I had to replace the ink cartridges. I have been very happy with my Epson CX8400. It is one of my favorite Christmas presents that I have received so far!!!!! I use my for scrap booking, for work presentations, for my sons school work, any to many more ways that I don't want to have to type out.

Thanks,

stuffedbookworm says "Good Price to buy but not if you use alot of ink" about Epson CX8400 InkJet Printer

I bought this Epson CX8400 because my large expensive printer had large expensive print cartridges and I just couldn't afford them anymore. I bought this, thinking I could save a bit of money. I did no research beyond what Staples had on sale at the time I needed it. BIG MISTAKE!!!! I homeschool and work from home as a writer. My normal printing routine ran me through cartridges every 10 to 14 days. I actually had to reevaluate my printing needs and figure out where I could cut copies. The ink costs about 60 dollars for all four cartridges that you need, and all of the ink cartridges have to have ink in them for the printer to work. If you make less than 20 or 30 copies per day, this could be the printer for you. If you print photos, the quality isn't really good enough for that, in my opinion. I could be biased because my big printer was so good at printing photos, but somehow I don't think it's just that. It does have some nice features that I like and are the only reason I don't get...
...

The Epson CX8400 inkjet printer works well for the average computer user. The copies are clear. The paper does not jam like other Epson models. You can just make copies (black+white or color),scan copies for your computer files and print whatever you need. Its easy to change the ink cartridges.Epson printers seem to work best with their own product. The only drawback is the price of the ink cartridges....

My husband bought the Epson Printer for 1 reason - we needed to print once in awhile. We figured we didn't need anything fancy, and this was nice and cheap, so he picked up the Epson Stylus CX8400.

Scanning
Even though I didn't think I needed a scanner, I've already used the scanner on this many many times! It works great and is very easy so you don't even really have to know too much about scanning. It recognizes where your picture is on the screen and automatically crops down to that size.

Copying
I made a copy once by accident - that's how easy it was! I put it on the thing, accidentally hit "copy" and it just started printing a copy, plain and simple. I've since explored the other options and see the copy function has a lot of features, but I'd rather scan something so I could then print it from my computer and do anything I wanted to it.

Printing
Up until today, all we ever printed were things like coupons and maps. We don't need to print much. I'm not big on photo...
...

My Espon All-in-One CX8400 does everything. I can print, scan, copy and share without having to leave my office. It's tough and handles all the tasks I put to it. I couldn't be more pleased. I can print photos in a flash. My copy shop quality copies of any document. I use it for craft projects as well as major work contracts. One of the best things is I'm not consistently going out to buy ink. It has a multitude of features that allow you to conserve energy and ink. One of the best printers on the market. I've had others but wouldn't trade my Epson for anything....

My experience with the CX8400 printer has been good. I've used it to copy, scan, and print with no problems so far (I've had it about 6 weeks). I printed out about 50 photos which turned out good but used a lot of ink (like all printers when you print photos). My only complaint so far would be the noise....

I have owned this all-in-one for 5 months now. One of my hobbies (trying to turn into business) is taking boring photos, adding backgrounds, text, inserts, etc. and then printing out. I use the scanner part to scan in photos (or card reader) and, of course, the printer to print. In a week's time, I put this printer through some very strenuous work.

This machine can handle a workload! Its speed is really good, print quality is outstanding, and scanner speed is fast!! Some of the features I use most are:

1. The scanner options. This gives you the ability to do a custom scan with plenty of options, or you can just use auto mode, which does a really nice job.
2. Copy features. I am always needing to enlarge a photo or change layout, add border, etc. This printer does all this and is not too complicated.
3. The restore feature. I have had to use a lot of older photos as an original. This mode allows me to enhance these older pics and make them look new again! Very easy to do!

There are a few...

This printer is great for home printing needs. It is fairly quick and provides a document/picture viewing screen. A downfall to this printer is that once one ink cartridge is really low or out, you can not print with just the other colors, you must replace the ink cartridge before being able to print. So have a spare set on hand and you will be fine! Prints decent pictures too!...
