Enfamil Next Step formula is supposed to be used for babies transitioning from regular formula to whole milk. Its used for babies 9 to 24 months. We used one can that we had a coupon for when my daughter was about a year old and we were just finishing weaning from her bottle. I don't think she really needed it at all, and I brought it up to my pediatrician who said it was completely unneccesary. It is a milk based formula that is supposed to give older babies and toddlers more nutrients than just drinking milk. As long as they are on a well balanced diet, they already get all the nutrients they need, so why spend the extra money on formula when you can just switch them to milk? It did not make weaning her off the bottle any easier, so there really wasn't any benefit for our family. I think the only children who will benefit from this formula are kids who don't receive adequate calories or nutrients from their diets.
...

In transitioning from one the infant formula to milk, there should always be a middle step to prepare the baby's body for whole milk. Enfamil Next Step does that well. When your child nears a year old it is very tempting to charge right into whole milk, but depending on the child it is not always safe. Enfamil Next Step allows the child to gradually get use to the nutrients and different ingredients by slowly introducing the body to new additions. There is fortunately, in my case, no gas or spit-up (not including when they move immediately after eating) that interfere with their digestive system. My daughter was taken off of another brand because it made her fussy and gassy. A friend of mine recommended Enfamil Lipil w/Iron and my daughter's digestive system improved drastically. Futhermore, when she was a little after nine months she was demanding more in addition to her meals. It made sense that she needed a thicker solution for her milk. Of course, she was too early for whole milk but...
...

As a new mom, you always want what is best for your babies. I understand that, but this product is something that I feel is more of a gimmick than a great product. Just something to get moms to buy more of their brand. I had recieved a free can of the Enfamil Next Step Lipil for children (toddlers) 1 year and up. I thought it would be wonderful since it had all my child needed!! I wasn't a fan... I just didn't feel they that my son was really benefiting anymore from this than he was from milk. I also felt that since he was beginning a crucial age where he will start picking and choosing what he likes that it may be harder to get him to drink the whole milk that the doctor told me to give him. So I stopped giving it to him after several uses and he seemed to enjoy the ice cold milk so much more. One day we were out of mild so we were giving him the Enfamil and he then refused it.... like I was afraid he'd do with real milk had we continued with that. I feel that if you...
...

katespiker says "An easy way to save a little money without sacrificing nutrition" about Enfamil Next Step Lipil

I found Enfamil Next Step Lipil with DHA & ARA when I had received a $5 check from Enfamil for this formula. My son was 10 months old and the cost of formula was, forgive the pun, milking us dry. I compared it to Similac Advance and Enfamil Premium Lipil and was surprised to see that it not only had all the same levels of important nutrients but higher levels of others to accommodate my little guys growing needs. He had no problems with the switch over and seemed to love it just as much as he did the others. The cost for a 24 oz can of Enfamil Next Step Lipil with DHA & ARA was usually at least $5 less than a 23.4 oz can of Enfamil Premium Lipil or a 23.2 oz SimplePac container of Similac Advance. This is a product that I would recommend to all my friends and family who are watching their budget but don't want to sacrifice quality for the most important little people in their lives.
...

When it was time to get my child to switch from formula to whole milk I seen an advertising for Enfamil Next Step Lipil. At first i was hesitant to purchase because I would have to pay for it out of my own pocket without the help of W.I.C.. I thought if it is better for my child I'll give it a shot.

When i first gave it to my daughter i thought she wouldn't take it because i was already giving her whole milk but she took it like she had already been drinking it. She actually prefers her formula milk over the whole milk. She loves it.

Whats great is that i know she is getting way more nutrition than if she would just be drinking whole milk. I especially love that it still has Lipil the blend of DHA and ARA, the nutrients that are important building blocks for your toddler's developing brain and eyes. Which for me give me a better piece of mind considering I...
...

I am a big fan of Breastfeeding. However, there are times when I am just too busy to do it or am out and about. Duing these times. Next Step is great for my 10 month old. since she is too young for Whole Milk. This product of formula provides the right nutrition for her growing body. I love it and keep the powder in my cabinet to grab and go, just needs a bottle, cup or water.
...

I am all for breast feeding, but when when my first child was born and refused to nurse, my plans changed. I was given formula coupons in the hospital and I tried them all. Enfamil was the best. My son seemed to like it better and it was so much easier to use then the rest. Formula can get expensive, so I switched every now and then to other brands, but they just weren't the same. The powder formula mixes with the water so much better than the other brands, which was not only good for me, but my son. When he had the other brands, he would get constipated and gassy stomach aches. With Enfamil, he was regular and felt better. I liked the Enfamil smelled better too. It sounds weird, but really, it did. When I'd feed my son and he'd drool some out, or it would leak on his clothes, he didn't smell as bad (the soy stuff from other brands smells really nasty!). Even his occasional spit-up smelled better. All in all it was so much more worth it to pay a couple extra dollars...
...

My grandson has been on Next Step Lipil since he graduated from regular formula. Since he's a toddler and a picky eater, his parents and I feel better having him on this than on regular whole milk since he gets more nutrients. He gets whole milk in a sippy cup at meals but this is for the bottle when he wants to nap or go to bed at night. Since it's a powder, it's easy to pack and store, easy to mix and convenient. No complaints from his pediatrician either and it helps us feel we are doing what is best for John.
...

amecorah says "Enfamil Next Step Lipil is the one for my son" about Enfamil Next Step Lipil

Enfamil Next Step Lipil is the only brand I use and recommended to others. It has everything the children (12 mos. to 24 mos.) need for their growth. Many parents don't think it is necessary to give their kids another formula after 12 mos. But they're wrong, because the children still need things like DHA, ARA, iron, etc. and those things can't be found in regular milk.

I compare my son with wy friend's daughter, who doesn't drink Enfamil Next Step Lipil, and there's a bug difference between them two. My son is more active, energetic, he can say more words than the girl, and he does more things than her too. It shows that regular milk is not enough for the growth of children's brain.

On the other hand, the cost of Enfamil Next Step Lipil is more expensive then regular milk. I know it sounds awful, but think about the children's future, then the price won't be a big deal.

The children need something out of ordinary. They need the best milk for their growth. It means that they need Enfamil...
...

Enfamil Next step makes me feel good about what my child is taking in. It has more nutrients than milk with less sodium. My daughter even seems to perfer it to milk. She is on the small side and to busy to eat a lot, so this formula suppliments the nutrition she needs without having to force the food issue...
