Rented from E-Z out of Orlando in December 2009. Booked it online at their website. There were lots of hidden fees. Mandatory insurance is required to be purchased. They don't tell you until keys are in hand. Service is god awful. Representatives are rude and are only concerned about what they can charge you. Also, I filled up my tank yet when I returned the car and they still charged me for gas. Car was crummy and gross with over 35,000 miles on it. Don't try to save a few bucks like I did initially. In the end, it will cost you. Paid almost $60 for a one day rental for a compact car. You are much better off staying with one of national chain companies like Enterprise, Hertz, Avis, Budget or National.
...

After the mixed reveiws I was a little sceptical but there should've been no worries. I rented from the Orlando airport and everything went smoothly from beginning to end. The car was a new car with less than 15,000 miles on it and ran great and it was the cheapest rental I could find! They are located right in the airport, so no waiting on shuttles - just walk. With the experience I had with E-Z, I would definitely rent from them again.
...

Very reasonable rate with unlimited millage.
I would like to thank the counter person at the return desk.

This is a review of my rental experience from EZ Rent-a-Car in mid-2009. Got a great deal on the car.

Then, about 3 months later they put 3, $50 charges on my credit card for toll violations. Then, I got a letter in the mail explaining why. It ends up that the city where I rented the car has an arrangement with the rental car companies that visitors who do not have cash to pay tolls can drive through anyway and it will be charged to the rental car company which then passes the fee on to you. Since I had no cash and had no idea that the only roads out of the airport were toll (no one at EZ had let me know this), I did as the toll attendant advised and drove on through with the full expectation that I would be charged (plus probably a small service fee from E-Z). Then the charges showed up on my card along with toll fines of $320! I immediately called the state where I drove the car and they reduced the fines to $40 (but said if I had called 1 day later they would not have been able...
...

homer31 says "Insurance scam. Web site full of lies." about E-Z Rent-A-Car

Their web site is full of lies. After I agreed to a certain fee on the reservation contract, they would not give me the car unless I agreed to pay 50% more than what was written on the reservation. They later never agreed to reimburse me or apologize. And they still have the same lies on their web site. Do not trust them. I complained to the Better Business Bureau about them, and they would not even reply to the BBB. Be warned: these people are liars, con artists and thieves. I will join any class action lawsuit against them.

It was for a car in San Jose, Costa Rica. On the reservation page, the only insurances mentioned were: CDW, at $3 a day. SLI/PAI at $3 a day. On the web page of the company, that was the same thing (and still is): http://www.e-zrentacar.com/policies~action-show+rental_car_location-San_Jose_Costa_Rica.html I even sent an email before leaving to make sure that was correct, and I did not receive an answer. When I arrived in Costa Rica, they forced me to pay an extra...
...

Don't rent a car from EZ Rent a Car! My overall experience with them was terrible. I had to wait forever at the airport (after a very long transatlantic flight) at LAX for the shuttle bus, which at first was unrecognizable because it did not have their logo on it. The car they gave me was not in top shape, it had over 39 thousand miles on it and it was pretty worn out. They told me it had 1/4 tank of gas in it, but when I started the car, it only had 1/8 of a tank, not enough to even get me to my hotel. When I arrived at the hotel, I discovered there were ants all over, apparently "living" inside the driver side door! Then, days later, I discovered the car had a bald tire, so bald that the metal part was showing. Since they were not able to send someone out to me to swap the car out, I had to drive 40 miles back to the rental office on the bald tire to swap the car. I was lucky to get there without a blowout. When I finally dropped the car off at the end of my stay, they had the nerve to...
...

I had a terrible experience in Ft Lauderdale, Flordia on July 16th at about midnight. I was told when I picked up the vehicle that the standard size vehicle I had reserved for me and my husband (both in our 20's) was not available and there was a mini-van in it's place. We expressed our un-happness about the vehicle to the rental agent. She told us either we take the van or pay an upgrade for an SUV or convertible mini-cooper. Neither was in our budget, so we declined and asked if we would be able to trade out the vehicle at the Miami location. We were told that they had nothing available. We reluctantly took the mini-van. After loading all our luggage into the vehicle there was a light on the dash indicating a problem with the vehicle. We went back to the counter. Another couple was at the counter not satisfied with the convertible mini-cooper they were getting in replacement of their standard size vehicle. (Yeah the same one they tried to sell to us as an upgrade!!) The other couple...
...

In late May/early June, I had an opportunity to rent again from E-Z Rent-A-Car. The staff at the Miami location were very friendly and efficient. I got a super price on a very nice Nissan Altima for the week. It was a very comfortable drive throughout southern and central Florida.

The check-in and check-out experience was great. My only complaint is that I had a longer wait than normal for the shuttle to pick me up on my arrival. I look forward to renting from E-Z RAC again in the future.
...

First when we got our bags, I called them and they said 10min for the shuttle. It was exactly 10min. When we got there, I reserved a SUV (which is Jeep Grand C.) and since I guess the one I was supposed to get was still dirty, I got a free upgrade to the Jeep Commander. Paperwork and getting the car took about 5min. No extra speeches about insurance coverage or anything. Brand new car - had under 3K miles. Clean and everything. No dents, scratches, nothing. When I got back, returned the car, took about 2min to finish the paperwork. No extra charges, no nothing. Shuttle was waiting and took us to the airport. People were friendly, had a sense of humor. Great rental car service in Denver....
