I got this vacuum as a gift a few years ago due to the animal hair in our house and the other vacuums we had no working. This is the best vacuum I have ever had and does practically everything. It comes with attachments and cleaners and a whole lot more. The first time I used the dc15 I could not believe how much it picked up. I had to empty the vacuum a few times before I was done with the house.Of course I have a big house, but our spoiled cat likes to lay everywhere and sheds like there is no tomorrow. I used to chase her off the furniture unril I got the dc15 and now I do not care where she lays around at. I would recommend this vacuum to anyone with dust allergies or animal hair issues and although it is marked a bit high in price it is a great product....

I bought the Dyson vacuum cleaner one month ago and I cannot begin to tell you the wonderful difference in my home. I have 9 grandchildren (all are here on a regular basis) and two have allergies, two have asthma and allergies and this Dyson has made a HUGE difference in our home. I vacuum all the time. We have hardwood floors throughout the house to cut down on allergens and dust mites. After running the Dyson for one month, the amount of "dust" in my home has virtually disappeared and every time I run it, the air smells clean... There's nothing floating around like with my other vacuums. One of the major selling points for me was there are no bags or belts to replace. I just wish I would have had this product available to me 30 years ago! My furniture, drapes, under appliances etc. are all clean and fresh and my grandkids are sneeze free in our home. This Dyson vacuum is wonderful on mattresses as well.

locomama says "Nothing sucks like the Dyson!" about Dyson DC15 Animal Vacuum

I have four children, two large hairy dogs, and three cats. No one ever needed a Dyson more! I have had my Dyson for 3 years and have never had any problems with it. It requires very minimum maintenance. I remove the filter and run under warm tap water and wring out and allow to dry once every six months. I also remove the hairs and threads and things that get caught around the roller brush every six months as well. True to it's word, the Dyson never loses suction. It will pick up almost anything. I find a disgusting amount of excitement and delight at the amount of pet hair and dirt the Dyson picks up off of my floor.

My only complaint about the Dyson is the excessively long cord. I'm not sure why they chose not to make the cord retractable, but I find that although it does reach a very long way, it is frequently in my way while I'm vacuuming.

There is no other vacuum I would rather have. I really love the Dyson and would absolutely recommend it to all of my friends,...
...

marinereviewer says "Overtalked - Underperforms" about Dyson DC15 Animal Vacuum

I was pumped to finally get this vacuum home from the store. All I have heard was how this Dyson was going to pick up so much more than any vacuum I have ever owned. I am a clean freak that also owns my own carpet shampooer and I shampoo my carpets every 3 weeks.

At first the Dyson appeared to be much better than my previous vacuum, but after a few uses, I realized it cleaned just about the same as my last couple vacuums. It was harder to use the attachments, because the hose was so stiff. This never got any better. On a positive note, it easy to empty and clean up.

I have had one problem, being a plastic piece at the bottom of the vacuum warped a little bit making it a little less powerful. The cost to repair this was 45 dollars. The part was easily replaced.

Overall, I am a little disappointed and will try a different vacuum for my next purchase. Buy at your own risk... do your research first!
...

ericsnothome says "The over priced working Vacuum Cleaner" about Dyson DC15 Animal Vacuum

Let me start by saying I am the proud owner of a German Shepard, a Begal - Basset Hound, three cats and a ferret. There is a lot of hair in my house, and no matter what I use there will be more hair the next day. However the Dyson DC15 "Animal" vacuum cleaner will pick up the hair off hard wood floors, carpets, area rugs, curtans and where ever else the hair might end up. The Dyson's competition is the Kirby. The Kirby is just as expensive but it looks like an industrial dinosaur. At least the Dyson looks ergonomic and flashy. I really dont like the idea of paying five hundred dollars for a vacuum cleaner. The idea of a vacuum cleaner dosen't seem that hard. Where is the cheaper alternative, that is still the quality of the Dyson vacuum cleaner? I need to get rid of hair. The Dyson "Animal" does the job well, looks good, and has the accessories to clean what ever you need where ever you need. I don't want to give it a good rating just because its way way too expensive. Dyson dont be a money...
...

This is this best vacuum I have ever purchased for cleaning pet hair from carpet. It picks up more hair than any other type I have ever owned. It has an easily removable compartment making it simple to empty. It is also reasonablly quiet when in use.

As a housework hating woman, when I muster the time and energy to vacuum it better be worthwhile. The Dyson Animal; the ball, does exactly what it is designed to do, suck up dirt and perk up my carpet. Nothing is worse than vacuuming and not being able to tell the difference when your done. All previous vacuum cleaners I've ever had should be ashamed of themselves for not even getting close to doing the job like my Dyson. Love it!
...

I purchased my Dyson vaccume at Costco nearly 2 years ago. It came with a 5 year warranty! Which made up for the hi-cost. I have no idea how I lived without the Dyson! Especially if you have pets. I have one large dog and a messy husband. I find I have to dust less and with both of us having allergies the Dyson really helps. There are so many useful attachments and you can turn off the beater brushes to clean rugs or hardwoods or tile. It is also super easy to fix yourself. Should you accidentally vaccume up a sock and need to get it out, there are so many easyily removeable parts that just snap off or snap back together. Why would you bother to pick up cherrio's up from the floor when you can just get the Dyson out?! The removeable and washable hepa filters make a huge difference. I think I might be the first person in the world to wear out thier dyson before the warranty is up. I no longer hate vaccuming. Its a little tedious to carry up and down the stairs...
...

I have had the DC17 Animal for about a year. I have 4 floors, 3 carpeted (stairs too) and the main floor hardwood with area rugs. I have always had at least 6 large dogs sharing their home with me. I have gone through NUMEROUS regular vacuums, most costing about 250 - 350 dollars each, lasting about 4-5 years and not performing that well. I plunged into the vacuum debate; Dyson vs. Oreck. Both spendy compared to the mass of vacuums (done with them) so I took time and researched. I had to evaluate WHO the reviews were being written by. (ie; one sales rep. vs. another.) Not saying that they would do that, so I visited a LOT of sites and talked to local vac. folks..... hey, you gotta be smart. Among other qualities, I decided on the Dyson because it's a all in one machine. I don't want to get to the 4th floor and have to go get the hand vac for the stairs, or the corners, etc. It's all right there with me. I read about how it "ate" area rugs on the hard floor, sure, it would. I just use the...
...

My Dyson DC 15 Animal is the best. I have 6 dogs that range from very wirey hair to thick Rottweiller fur. These dogs shed all year around. My Dyson picks up every little piece of fur and hairs. The furballs like to gather in the corners and with the long hose and attachments, it's no problem picking them up. I have had other models/brands that clog up immediately upon suction. Not the Dyson. It's great. The attachments are varied. One will work wonderfully on the dog beds. Another will work on the window blinds. It's incredible how simple vacuuming can be. I dreaded the purchase because at the time it was a bit pricey. But it was worth every penny. I have recommended the Dyson to all of my friends who have pets. They have only had good things to say. It's very easy to clean. We use our air compressor to blow out the filer and it's back to being fresh smelling. If it had a odor eater, that would make it perfect. If Dyson comes out with one that does, I will definately get it. Or maybe...
...

I purchased the Dyson DC15 Vacuum 2 years ago. Prior to the Dyson I had several vacuums including bagless and those with bags. Compared to the vacuums that have bags this vacuum is a must. You can easily see how full the container is and emptying it is a breeze. This vacuum has more suction than any vacuum I have ever had. I never knew just how much dust and dirt was in my carpet until I got my Dyson. It has a removable wand that makes it easy to vacuum ceiling fans and vents. It is also a breeze to vacuum base boards and in hard to reach corners. The ball function of the vacuum makes this vacuum easy to manuever. Turning around corners and furniture is much easier than with a traditional vacuum. This vacuum is especially for pet hair and it certainly does the job. With both a cat and a dog in the house this vacuum is invaluable at keeping hair to a minumum. After I purchased my Dyson, my mother and sister liked it so much, they bought one too.
...
