TripleGGG says "Great Vac Great warranty" about Dyson Animal Vacuum

The Dyson Animal is a great vac. First it has a great warranty of 5 years. I hate buying things that purposely get dirty and have a limited warranty. The other great thing about the Dyson Vacs is the filter sytstem. They provide a lifetime filter. All you have to do is wash the fliter let it dry for about 10 hours and its good as new. Now if you lose the filter or the dog chews it up you can buy a new one for about $20. Now the bad news they are more expensive. The best way to buy one would be at a store that offers discounts for opening up a credit card. But be careful not all stores will discount the Dyson. I suggest Kohls as they provide the best in customer service and usually have a great deal when opening up a credit card. But the way to save at Kohls is charge and then write a check on the spot. Its a win win situation
...

I love my Dyson Animal! Now I am reviewing this because I have had my Dyson Animal for 4 years now. I also wanted to know if the commerical was right that "it never loses suction power." Well, I will tell all-it does not! I do keep it fairly clean by washing the filter, and canister, and any pieces I can reach with my hand. I also had my husband flush out the telescopic wand and hang dry it. This vacuum is worth every penny I spent on it which was $550. I also use my Animal to vacuum my hardwood floors before I mop. I guess it seems easier than sweeping. I was at Target shopping once and over heard a man say to his wife "who would pay so much for a vacuum? What does this do that others don't?" I then just had to step in and tell him how much better this vacuum works than the $100 one and I wouldn't give my Dyson up for any Hoover or ever a Kirby! His wife was pleased and just said to her husband, "SEE!" After having it for 2 years my sister had to borrow it because her vacuum broke....
...

The DC14 Animal maintains the "quick-draw" hose which simply means with one push of a pretty large button just above the canister, the hose and extension handle can be detached from the vacuum and used. The hose has a full reach of seventeen feet which is long enough to reach all the way up a traditional flight of stairs or vacuum the walls and ceilings of a typical room without having to move the vacuum
...

I have the Dyson Animal. I love this vacuum. I have had this vacuum for a couple of years and I can say that if for some reason it broke tomorrow I would take out a loan if I had to and get another one. It is a bit pricey, however, totally worth every cent.

I have 3 cats, a dog, a 3 year old son, and a very messy husband. This vacuum never disappoints. I have had just about every other type and brand of vacuum out there. Every one of them got clogged regularly. I use this vacuum every single day, multiple times a day and it has never gotten clogged. Also, it has not lost any of its suction.

I would consider myself to be a clean freak. My biggest thing is clean floors. I cannot stand dirt on my floors. I have carpet, laminate, and area rugs in my home. This vacuum goes from one to the other with no problems. It does not do the "shoot the dirt out the back" thing when going from carpet to hard floors. Most of the other vacuums I have used did this. The edge...
...

The Dyson Animal (yellow plastic) is an amazing vacuum. My sister owns it, we bring it to my mother's house a few times a year and clean everything! The vacuum does not lose suction as it fills. It is easy to empty, we usually do that outside to avoid any dust getting around inside the house. It is easy to maneuver around the steps in a split foyer house and the cord is long enough to reach from the bottom of the stairs to the top. After vacuuming with another brand, the Dyson still picks up an enormous amount of dirt - way more than you ever wanted to know that you had in your rug. It has a hand attachment for getting the return duct for the furnace. It is a bit heavy for my mother to handle, but she is 78 years old. I also borrow it for use in my own house.

I would recommend this to anyone. It is a bit pricey, but sometimes available on craigslist or slickdeals.net.
...

Having 2 Great Danes means I need a vacuum that does it's job or it's out of here! I don't have time to mess around with a vaccum cleaner that you have to go over and over and over a single spot in order to get the dog hair up.

I once read an article in "Hints From Heloise" that indicated one had to move one's pass a vacuum over an area eight times in order to get that area clean. Can you imagine how long it would take to clean the larger sized houses of today? Whew!

The Dyson Animal is an awsome vacuum and does a great job. I'm mortified by the amound of hair and dust it picks up each time I vacuum. It may have only been 3-4 (okay sometimes even a week) in between but it looks like we leave the doors open and run a kennel in here sometimes.

The Dyson makes it easier to deal with though because you have your telesopic wand attached for dusting jobs along with the tools so you don't have to run around looking for the parts and you can see when it needs to be emptied. But,...
...

I have six cats. It is a lot of work to keep my house looking and smelling clean with them. I am very picky about keeping my house clean because I know that people jump to the conclusion that my house is dirty and smells like a litter box. Before I purchased this vacuum, I actually had to use two different vaccums on my carpets. One to suck up the litter and other particles and another that would pick up the hair. When I used it for the first time, I vacuumed like I normally did and then I went back over it with my Dyson Animal. I was shocked that with one pass of the vacuum, I saw fine dust and dirt particle start to fill the canister. Kind of gross, at first, but a least they are not in my carpet anymore. I also have long hair and was shocked when I looked and the rotating bristle and saw that it was just covered with my hair. No other vacuum cleaner had ever picked up that much hair and my mother was a vacuum cleaner junkie. She was always buying a new one every...
...

We bought a Dyson Animal because we have one huge great dane who sheds quite a bit a hair. I have loved this vacumn since day one. I have used several other brands and Dyson beats them all hands down. It has amazing suction and cleans easily. The telescopic wand had a very long reach and is handy for blinds, and ceiling vents. The attachments work well and are attached to the sides of the vacumn for easy access. I am always amazed with how much it picks up. You can see it in the canister, which is super easy to empty. You just snap it off and push one button and the bottom flops open. Snap it closed, snap the canister back onto the vacumn and you are done. The HEPA filter can be removed for cleaning and the canister can be cleaned with water. This vacumn cleans well every time. I have had mine for almost two years and have had no problems with it at all. The cord does not automatically wind up, but I don't mind. I have had problems with the automatic ones in the past. The cord is plenty...
...

After buying a new vacuum cleaner every six months, we finally decided to sink the money into a Dyson. We selected the model known as the "Animal" due to problems with dog hair in our house. Even though the price was higher than we were used to paying, the Dyson has done the job. The canister is quick and easy to empty, even though it is occasionally difficult to reinstall once it has been emptied. The long hose is very convenient for vacuuming stairs and it is easy to disconnect from the upright unit. I also appreciate the fact that you don't have to search for a foot pedal to raise or lower the handle. Regarding suction, the Dyson advertising claim is accurate as far as I'm concerned. Our Dyson has never lost suction and it is so powerful that you have to be careful vacuuming too close to draperies. My only complaint about the Dyson is that it is very difficult to clean the brush.

Overall, we have had our Dyson for a little over two years and we are very happy with...
...

I have had my Dyson vacuum for almost 3 years now. I heard such wonderful things about it and when my Hoover Wind Tunnel died we emptied our pockets for the Dyson.

I should have bought another Wind Tunnel. The Dyson is heavier by quite a bit and the hose is not quite long enough to reach up my one flight of stairs. Which means lugging it halfway up the stairs to complete the job.

It does well on carpets and hard floors, you just have switch the knob over. The knob is tricky and often gets stuck. I do notice that I have to go over areas of the carpet several times to get it to even look clean. The Hoover would do it in one swipe.

The rotating brush gets easily clogged when vacuuming pet hair- makes me wonder why they call this vacuum the Animal?? I often have to turn it upside down and cut the hair away with scissors to get it to rotate again.
