I work at a small company and we recently needed a new vacuum. My coworker was dying to get a Dyson, so we decided to get one. It was more expensive than the boss wanted to pay, but since we heard nothing but good reviews he figured it was worth the investment. Unfortunately it did not live up to our expectations. I will admit the business does get plenty of foot traffic, so vacuuming every night it needed to pick up a lot of dirt. But even so, after the first month it did not pick up as much, and now about 6 months later it hardly picks up anything at all. It is not very powerful and is hard to clean and put back together. Understandably the filter needs cleaning all the time, but even when it has just been cleaned it still has a hard time cleaning anything up. It does an ok job, but I would get something else next time.

We own the Dyson DC17 Animal. It works great.We need something that works since we have seven animals. It keeps the carpets clean,the wand works really good and easy to dump the waste when it gets full.The cord is long enough that I don't have to move from room to room plugging it in.It's a great sweeper.

The Dyson Animal DC17 is the best vacuum I have ever owned. I was very skeptical because of reviews I have read and the cost. But I have owned it for more than a year now and I love it, it has great suction power and the attachment also has great suction power unlike every other vacuum I have owned. And no more filters ! I love it!

I love the Dyson animal vacume. I have a medium sized dog who sheds like crazy. This vacume picks up dirt and hair wonderfully. It also leaves the carpet looking freshened. I love how easy it is to switch to the hose attachment and how you don't have to touch dirt at all when emptying. You just push a button and it goes right in the trash. I have had this vacume for 3 years and it still works great. However the hose does have a rip in it wich we have taped up and still does the job. I believe it has a 5 year limited warrenty if I could find the reciept.

I actually debated for years whether I was going to spend so much money on a Dyson vacuum cleaner. I looked at them, read reviews, did research - then when I would finally decided to get one I would talk myself out of it at the last minute and the whole process would start over again several months later. Not only was spending the money a problem but it seemed like there were several models to pick from and I had no idea which one was best for me.

I finally decided on the Dyson DC17 because it had all the accessories that I thought I needed. All of the Dysons come with three standard accessories including the stair tool, a large brush and the crevice tool. The Animal models come with additional items which are the mini turbine tool, a floor tool and a carpet cleaning kit. Because I have several pets I figured the mini turbine tool would be very handy for the couch and other furniture. All the dysons feature the following:

this vacume is the best money I ever spent!!!! It makes cleaning after three animals a breeze and it really gets all those hard to reach places. After vacuming with a different vacume I noticed that the hair was back in half the time with the dyson I find that the hair is gone for almost a week.. After I bought the vacume my mother,mother in law, friend and sister all bought some verson the dyson has to offer and we all love them!!! Thank dyson for keeping our home clean and making it a breeze!!!!! Oh and did I mention it look great to!

I love my Dyson DC17 Animal vacuum. I have two children under 4...they are messy. They also have extreme dust and pollen allergies. It has a lifetime hepa filter and doesn't churn dust around in my house. I dust with it and clean very high places with it. It also works great on wood floors! Gotta run...2 little kids!

Running a vacuum was never really my favorite part of housework. In fact I dreaded it. Since I have the Dyson Animal I actually like to vacuum. With the Dyson you don't feel like you are getting dusty air blown up while you work. It picks up birdseed and feathers fron under my birds cage. I mean it really picks up the seed, not blows it around! I also have an asthma suffer in my family. I no longer worry about running the vacuum while he is in the house. The Dyson is worth every cent of it's price.

We have a Dyson Animal Ball Upright vacuum. It is fantastic. I adore it. It is specifically for people who have animals or allergies (or both). It has incredible suction. I've heard rumors that having a Dyson vacuum voids your carpet warranty. I don't know if that's true - but that does say something about it's suction ability and it has certainly never damaged our carpet. The ball is so nice, it is very easy and smooth to maneuver (which is great because it's pretty heavy). My son has allergies and asthma so it helps out hugely with his indoor allergy triggers. Dysons are pricey, but worth every penny!

The great Dyson strikes again! This is our second vacuum from this company and once again, we are impressed! We have 3 dogs and are constantly fighting the "dog hair" fight around this house. But the Dyson Animal DC17 fights the fight for us! Or at least makes us feel like we're winning anyway. : )

Before it's first use, we decided to vacuum with our regular Hoover and see just how much this Animal picks up. It was amazing and disgusting all at the same time. We couldn't believe the amount of hair, dirt, and dust stilll left in our carpet after what we thought was a great vacuum. But the Dyson picked everything (and I mean everything!) up, even after we just used the Hoover.

It's easy to push and all the additional accessories are wonderful and also easy to use. The accessories have just as much suction as the floor vacuum part.

It doesn't have a nasty, dusty bag to dump. Only the container - a great feature for sure!

The suction power on this vaccum is amazing. I vaccumed a carpet that has a lot of indoor outdoor traffic, and the amount of dirt and sand that came up the first time truly amazed me. I am very impressed, but, I have not owned the Dyson very long, being a pet owner, I will see what happens down the road....

I waited for the combination of a sale, gift card, and coupon to purchase this vacuum cleaner and couldn't wait to try it out. It was like Christmas as I opened the box and found that it was so easy to put together. I couldn't decide which of the many useful tools to try first. I know it's a minor thing, but it's purple, which I love.
I expected the first few vacuuming experiences to be gross, since my old vacuum wasn't working so well, but wow. I could watch the canister become full in just a minute or two. (I clean my house--really--that's just a testament to how much I needed a new vacuum!) With my old vacuum, I had to take it's canister outside to empty it since it released all of the dirt back into the air/room as I fumbled with it. The Dyson canister empties easily with the push of a button. Of course, you still have to take care to keep the dust contained, but it is SO much easier.
I love the all floors feature--brush on for carpet, brush off for hard floors. The swivel wheels...

I have owned many vacuums and this one is by far the best one we have owned. It picks up all of our dogs hair off the carpets and they have never looked better. The Animal is very lightweight. The attachments for it are great and very easy to use. It picks up dust that we never thought was there....

The dyson animal is the greatest. It is so much better than an other vacuum that I have used. I have 5 dogs - they don't shed but they have dog food and cookie crumbs everywhere. It is so easy to handle and the extra attachments makes cleaning much more productive. By that I mean - you can actually see the dirt that it is taking out of the carpets. My both daughters and daughter-in-law have one. ...

I wont ever get a different brand of vacuum. My mother had used all sorts of vacuums growing up and they all stunk...literally. This vacuum makes the air smell so clean after. The hepa filter is absolutly amazing. I just got a house and have two cats. I can't imagine living without this vacuum. After we bought it, I brought it over to my mothers house so she could try it. She couldnt believe what it had sucked up.

When I ran it, I thought that the company had just filled the tubes with dirt so when you started the vacuum you saw a ton of dirt. NOPE, holy smokes the DC 17 sucked up so much right after I had just vacuumed with our old one.

I am telling you, it is expensive but it is more worth it than anything you could ever buy. It is a must own for all pet owners and anyone with alergies.

P.S. its so awesome, my father bought my mother one for christmas. She hasnt stopped using it and she hates vacuuming.

Just seeing how much dirt and hair there is every time makes it fun.
