The Dyson Animal 07, although an older model than is available at present, is the most fantastic piece of machinery in my house. It does everything it says it will do. I have two cats that pretty much shed year round, so it is an ongoing chore that this vacuum tackles with no problem. With all the attachments that are included, you want or need for nothing. They thought of everything to keep your house free of animal fur. It lives up to its name. As long as you keep emptying the canister when it gets full, there are no worries. It never loses suction. I like being able to see just how much hair and dirt this vacuum picks up. It's remarkable. However, on the downside, it is pretty heavy. It is difficult to do stairs with the vacuum itself. I just use the attachments with the attached hose, and that takes care of the problem. It is not hard to push, but it is heavy to carry upstairs. But, the performance and convenience far outweigh the fact that it is so heavy. ...
...

We needed a vacuum about 2 years ago. My wife had been talking about the Dyson vacuum for quite some time. Her sister had the Dyson DC 07 Animal. Even though we were strapped for money this was by far the best bang for the buck. The suction is very good; however it will pick up scatter rugs if it is on carpet setting. It is very easy to change from an upright use to that of a wand and canister type. ( my wife calls it an easy 3 step process) On board are three attachments that remove with snap, and are placed back in their respective positions with another easy snap. When using it in the "cannister" position it is not easy to move around the room. The hose is a bit too stiff and will resist moving the seventeen feet of length that is has, and instead pull on the vacuum.
...

The Dyson Animal is a phenomenal piece of machinery. I live in a home with one cat, three dogs, a toddler, a husband and a father-in-law. Needless to say messes are in abundance around my home. I bought countless bagless vacuums by reputable manufacturers, including Hoover. I had a hard time biting back the price for the Dyson, but after the third cheapy vacuum pooped out on me, my husband bought me the Dyson Animal. It was more than a purchase it was an investment. Vacuuming is a breeze now, there is no clogging, the suction is unbelieveable. I can stand in the middle of an area and watch the pet hair be suked to the vacuum. The vacuum works great on both my hard floors and carpeting. The nob to turn the beater bar on and off is extremely convenient. I have had the vacuum for three year and had no issue with it other than I wish it was lighter. I love this vacuum so much I would suggest it to all of my family and friends.
...

If I had to choose one of my home appliances to keep and all the rest had to thrown out, I would definitely keep my Dyson "Animal" Upright Vaccuum. This piece of macinery is a real work of art as far as home appliances go. It is an upight with a carpet mode, as well as, a bare floor mode (which I use more to vaccuum my rugs as they are too long for the spinning sweeper and get wrapped around it and makes an awful noise), and no matter which mode you choose, you get an award winnng performance, not to mention a clean floor. This thing NEVER loses suction, And can tackle nearly anything. I recently reupholstered my sofa and this left what seemed like MILLIONS of staples and upholstry tacks all over the place and the animal devoured them all without as much as a blink. It comes with an attachment for every occasion and has a handle that turns into a wand with a hose for when you need an canister style vaccuum for those hard to reach place. Powerful and styish and easy to use. Awesome product!...
...

The Dyson is pricey, but I do think it is worth it for pet owners with carpets. It works OK on bare floors too, but like most vacuums - not that great. I do find it to be an eyesore in ugly purple and gray. I always keep it in the closet. I had a dog that was a serious shedder - big ol' dust bunnies of fur. I have two cats and a cat condo. The dust bunnies came out of the carpet and the long white cat fur was easily sucked off the kitty condo with the included tools.

Using the attachments with the hose can be awkward and tricky. the vacuum wants to follow you everywhere. it lurches around behind you. There is also one downside to its power - it sucks up so much stuff you have to empty the bin a lot. Emptying it causes a dust cloud and sometimes you have to stick your hand in there to pull fur clumps out.

If I run mine over an area rug of any size, or in a corner where carpet is not tacked down so hard it sucks the rug in and makes an EXTREMELY loud and very scary noise and you have to...
...

I would not use these machines on fine carpets as the brush is so stiff that it will eat up the fibres of your rugs. The attachment are poor Quality. Bagless machines loose power immediatly as the filter coats with dirt. And cleaning one of theese! Ouch. Turbo attachments also take away from suction. Try self powered attachments as in the Aerus lux sidekick. How many patients does the Aerus Lux( Previously Electrolux) Hold?
...

I have owned my Dyson DC07 animal for about 4 years now. At first I absolutely loved it. It had the best suction ever. However, it is now starting to fall apart, and for $400 I expected it to last much longer. I have had Kirbys, Rainbows and a Tri Star that lasted 10 years.

What is happening is that the plastic parts on this vacuum, which is most of the vacuum! are becoming brittle and breaking. The warranty is expired, so I have to replace these parts at my cost. Dyson charges quite a bit for the replacements. I recently had to replace the dirt canister and the lid that closes to keep the dirt in. The new lid does not fit right and the dirt falls out when you remove it from the vacuum, and it doesn't attacheto the vacuum correctly. I thought for the price, that I would get the entire piece that attaches to the vacuum. I did not, and now I have to replace the rest of it, because the handle is cracked. I am very disapointed in the warranty, which should be extended to cover all the plastic...
...

I bought the Dyson DC07 pet vacuum because of my hybrid wolf. He is constantly shedding his hair. We would have tumbleweeds of hair all over the house! We have carpet, laminate, and tile floors in our house and it works well on all surfaces. The extending hose is clumsy to use at times or that could just be me.I can't honestly say I use the attachments or even what there use for but atleast they are there if I do need them. The vacuum doesn't work well on thick piled rugs and will catch. We have not had issues with loss of suction but we do have to clean out the brushes on the bottom because of the amount of dog hair we vacuum up on a daily basis. The filter is easy to access and clean. The one touch buttom to remove the cannister is easy to use. You can empty the cannister without alot of mess. The machine is purple in color which is attractive and sleek. I highly recommend this product to animal owners.
...

A Dyson DC 7 is an incredible vaccuum, yeah it's a little pricey, but absolutely worth every penny you spend!! This vaccum has pulled things out of my carpet that I never knew existed. And with having a small child crawling on the floor it was very important to me to have carpet but keep it clean. Dyson does this and then some. I never find dog hair attached to my child's clothes because the dyson picks it up every time. If you have animals this is a must have, I couldn't imagine like without it. The attachments help me get the webs in the corners of the ceiling and back underneath the dresser or under the bed. It's so easy to use the attachments as well, having them right on the handle makes it so much easier. I used to have a Kirby and taking everything apart to put the hoses on was difficult. A Dyson is so much easier to use and a much better vaccum. I love the purple too, it would be nice if you could pick different colors, but that is just me being a woman!!
...

After buying my first Dyson, I know that I will never buy any other vacuum! This vacuum is a dream. It picks up everything in its path and it is easy to get addicted to watching all the dirt & dust swirl around in its cyclonic chamber. Another great perk to this vacuum is that it is one of the best for families that have allergies. You don't have to worry about the dust getting back into the air. Yes, it is an expensive vacuum, but once you buy one you will see why they are worth the money!
...

The Dyson Animal vacuum is extremely powerful. It picks up dog fur and a lot more that my other vacuum missed. I no longer have that vacuum. This is the first canisters vacuum I've had and I wont go back to the bag kind again. The canister holds alot and is easy to empty into a garbage bag. Maybe because of this, it has not acquired the odor that bagged machines sometimes get. The attachments are great. I use the stair attachments the most but the brush is good on draperies and the smaller, rectangular attachment is very good on furniture. The only problem I've had is that the attachments don't stay in the corresponding compartments. They tend to fall out easily and I'm always looking for them. The handle of the vacuum pulls out two ways, making the wand longer to get to ceiling fans, ceiling corners, or behind the washer, dryer, and refrigerator. It would be convenient if the directions did a better job explaining how to use the wand. It took some trial and error to...
...
