To be honest I was told to switch to this bottle for my daughter because she rushes when shes eating. I tried a million other bottles so I was okay with another switch. Unfortunately it was not good for her because her mouth engulfed it. You see, my child was breast fed for the first three months and my breasts are very large along with my mammory glands. So any bottle that has a small nipple just pours the milk out of the corner of her mouth and she doesn't get any at all. My advice it that you make sure you get a bottle that reflects your breast if you are switching from breast to bottle.
...

My husband and I were sitting at the hospital reception desk discussing how unbelievable it was that our daughters PA wanted me to discontinue breastfeeding due to her acid reflux and gas.

The lady at the counter overheard our conversation and recommended we try the Dr. Browns bottles.

We went to the store immediately. Right away the baby was happy and I was able to pump milk and feed her how I saw fit.

Now, at 10 months old and on formula, we are still using these bottles as I suppose I am fearful of the old baby returning.

The downfall with these bottles is that they leak everywhere. At the slightest tilt, you will find a soaking wet mess.

We have changed the nipples and it made no difference.

Obviously the gas problem outweighed the leaking. However, it is quite costly to always have to wash her sheets and clothes. Not to mention her soaked walker, swing, etc... Plus, the cost of wasted formula is tremendous.
...

I bought these bottles in a pack of three when my son was having a lot of spit up. The bottles are plastic but BPA free. They have several pieces, which is annoying when you are trying to assemble a bottle for a crying baby but they seem to reduce the amount of air a baby ingests. You can see the air bubbles come out of the bottom when the baby is fedding. They have different nipple flow options so the bottle can be used as your baby grows. My baby has less spit up when we use these bottles and they do not leak. They are a thicker plastic than some bottles so they will hold up through this baby and perhaps more even after many times through the dishwasher. The bottle design is pretty neutral so they are appropriate for boys and girls. They would make a good gift for a couple who do not know what gender they are having. They are more expensive than some brands but are good quality in comparison. For us, they have been worth the price.
...

When my son was born, I planned on breastfeeding soley...No formula, no bottles...BUT unfortunately things did not pan out the way I would've liked. He had a tongue problem and could not latch on correctly, as well as acid reflux so breastfeeding was very traumatic for the seven weeks we tried it. Anyways, after we found out he had acid reflux, and learned that he wasnt gaining weight, we switched to formula on doctor's orders. I was very picky about the bottles i used because i had heard so much about how they make babies gassy if they swallow the air...etc. I came across Dr Brown's bottles, and read the package top to bottom, and it said how it helps to reduce colic with the unique design of the air flow system that is built into the bottle. I was sooooo skeptical at first considering the price of these bottles is not cheap. HOWEVER, i have used these bottles for a whole year now with my son and along with his meds for acid reflux he NEVER spits up, is NEVER gassy, let alone colicy. Talk...
...

The Dr. Browns bottles help by allowing less air.. Our baby had reflux and these bottles helped. The only negative is there are lots of parts to wash.

Both of my children suffered from acid reflux. After changing the formula and the bottle it resolved their problems. I tried many, many bottles on the market and this one was one of my favorites! It has the least amount of bubbles which causes the gas build-up in babies. My children's pediatrician recommended the Dr. Brown's Natural Flow Baby Bottle to me when my son was born and it's one we kept around for my daughter who was born 17 months later. They were also very picky with the nipples on the bottles and this one seemed to be their favorite. My only issue was that I had to buy new nipples pretty often but that probably had nothing to do with the product (Just the fact that they were used to their maximum) and that the tube was a little difficult to clean - they do provide you with a small bristle brush to get into the tube and clean it.... overall I'd recommend this product to friends and family that were in the market of buying and trying out new baby bottles.
...

We got these with my son, and he didn't take a bottle often, but when he did he never had a problem emptying it with these bottles.

I dont' know if the anti-gas factor of these bottles was ever necessary for my son, but I liked that we had it anyway! it can't hurt, right?

The only downside with these bottles is the extra peices to wash. (and we didn't have a dishwasher). But it was fine since he didnt' use them often. and if he did use them often and we had a dishwasher, it wouldn't have been a big deal.
...

As a mom of 2 babies, I look for easy and efficient products. The Dr. Brown bottles are too complicated. They have too many small parts to clean and the nipple shape is too small. I breast feed my babies and occasionally use a bottle. neither of my daughters liked the shape of the Dr. Brown's nipple. And if you don't get the thing put together correctly, I twill leak all over!
...

I loved this bottle, my daughter never had gas with this bottle. It has some parts to clean, but it is well worth the extra hassle. Here's how it works:

It features a patented two-piece internal vent system that works unlike any other bottle design. The vent system fully vents our bottle for vacuum-free feeding, which we call positive-pressure flow, similar to breastfeeding. As the baby feeds, air is channeled from the nipple collar through the vent system, bypassing the breastmilk or formula, to the back of the bottle. Air never mixes with the breastmilk or formula which minimizes oxidation and helps maintain essential nutrients like vitamins C, A and E.

I'm just saying it's been amazing and it's the only bottle that my baby daughter will drink from. And I'm really thrilled thatI got the bottle because otherwise we would have had great problems trying to get her to bottle-feed. I'm just calling to thank you from the bottom of my heart because it's made an enormous difference in...
...

The Dr. Browns Natural Flow Baby bottles are have been great for both of my children. They are recommended by doctors and have been super at reducing extra gas in their tummies. Although they are a little pricey, the extra money is worth the benefits you get from less gas. I also recently read a report that babies retain more of the nutrients in the milk by having less air in the milk. The downfall to these bottles is that there are so many pieces that tend to need special attention when washing. The parts are all dishwasher safe, but if you dont' use the special brush occasionally the parts will have mold that starts to grow in them. Yuck! These come in a variety of sizes and shapes which makes finding just the right fit for you baby easier. They also have a variety of nipple sizes that make finding the right flow easier too. Although they are a little more, it's worth the money for sure!
...

I reada lot of good things about Dr. Brown's natural flow baby bottles while doing my research and am here to tell you they were all true. I was very concerned about the bottles I would be using as my step daughter had terrible colic as a baby and I heard all the war stories... I didn't want to go through the gas and spit up and such if I didn't have to. I know the bottles don't determine if your child has colic but, Dr. Brown's natural flow baby bottles wereformulated to lessen the effects and help the air flow while your baby is taking a bottle. My son had a very hard time when he was a baby adjusting to a formula that his little body could handle, I'm very thankful that I had bottles that would assist him not feeling too icky. I tried a few other brands that were given to me at my baby shower and I didn't have as much luck with them. He would get gassy and spit up. Dr. Brown's natural flow baby bottles were the best thing we used. When we have another, I guaranty you we'll be using...
...

When breast feeding didn't work for my daughter the first bottle I tried Dr. Brown's Natural Flow Baby Bottle. It was great the first few times but when feeding became more frequent it became more of a hassle, to clean the bottle and valves, than useful. I switched to Avent and never looked back. Dr. Brown's Natural Flow Baby Bottles were quality bottles as far as I'm concerned but when you have a hungry baby screaming in your face and need a bottle now but none are clean and ready to go it becomes a hassle and leaves everyone feeling frustrated and upset. I suppose you could stock up and always have a clean one on hand but if your a busy mom or dad and don't always have that luxury you may want to research another option. I know people whose babies really suffer, with colic and such, swear by these. If your a busy on the go mom I would probably try something else than Dr. Brown's Natural Flow Baby Bottles .
...
