My 2 shepherd puppies are the best dogs in the world! They are loving and playful and just plain adorable. When we went to Virginia to get them, we were only getting 1 dog. My 2 daughters came with me Ralph and me to get the puppy and one daughter held one puppy and the other daughter held the other puppy it was just so hard to choose! the one smaller of the 2 was the runt and you know the runt is always the best dog and the other daughter had the other puppy and I just could not choose so we took them both! I knew I was going to have a full house but I love dogs! well they are turning a year old in january and they are just a pleasure to have! they are sweet fun loving dogs! taking them home was the best decision I made, Ralph has been training them and they are very obedient dogs and very loyal to boot!

The following day I'm looking on Craigslist.org don't ask me why but something told me to check it out. I have always wanted a Rotty but never wanted to Buy them I'd rather rescue one...
...

I have several pets, mostly dogs. But the one that lives with us as apart of my new family is a "Res Dog." Junior, is a mixed breed, when I took him to get his shots and have him neutered. They said he was Heinz 57, I told the Vet that "Junior" (named after Dale, Jr., of course) is a pure bred "Res Dog," being from New Mexico and coming from Navaho Reservation, she understood and changed his breed. For those who have never seen a "Res Dog", they can look like any other dog, but were born and raised on reservations. Jr., had a yard of 160,000 acres to play in when he was a puppy. We have since moved to TX where he is now the master of his own yard. Jr. was abused when he adopted me. Now he is a pampered dog with a real future. He is definitely a one-man dog.He likes everyone, but loves me. When he is in the house he sleeps or lays by my feet. Except when my grandson, Daniel, is around. They were born on the same day 12 Dec 06. I am proud that Jr. decided to adopt the family and me. If...
...

sxygamergirl says "The best thing that has ever happened to me." about Dog German Shepherd Mix

These dogs seem like the types of dogs you could pay millions for if you had the money. They are compassionate, smart, obedient, beautiful.....the list goes on. Since most of them are short-haired, it is highly likely that they will be easy to groom. There also is a high chance of them living long. I have a 14-year-old German Shepard Mix. I want to cry just thinking about him. I don't remember life without him. I got very sick and this dog changed my life. Any dog that has the qualities of my beloved German Shepard Mix would change your life too and make an excellent pet....

These dogs, German Shepards and German Shepard mixs, sweet and kind animals. I had a german shepard as a kid, she protected and cared for me like a second mom. I still miss that song. If your looking for a dog for kids, these dogs are ideal. Long living dogs also, ours lived for 13 years. I don't know what I would have done without this dog growing up!...

I own a 9 1/2 year old German Shepherd mix. We believe his father was a black lab with chow mix. His mother was a full-blooded German Shepherd.

Fred is a great dog. He weighs 110 lbs. so you can't ever pick him up and his meds cost a fortune, but he's worth every time. I watch a lot of Court TV and I feel much more secure having Fred in the house with me!

He's settled down a lot over the years. He used to be much more high strung and jumped on people, etc. Now he just barks a lot. He's definitely the alpha dog of our family. And the neighborhood (in his mind). Just as most German Shepherds are great for security, so is Fred. You can tell he feels that it's his duty to protect the family and especially his doman, i.e., the house.

One unfortunate things is that the mortality of big dogs like German Shepherds is usually 10 years, so that's really his only drawback. That's why he's on plenty of meds for his ailments, and I take him to the vet to ensure all his vacccines, etc., are up-to-date....
...
