Hi,

I would love to say a few thing on Pomeranians... Will where to start... I love these dogs. My husband and I own two of them, a male we named simba and female we named princess. They are great dogs. Simba our male is very close to me and is just so cute. He follows me every where. We got him from my husband's sister this year so we have only had his less then a year. And he was already full grown when we got him. But you would think he has been with us all his life. He is a really calm dog. Now my other one is still a puppy. She is a calm also but barks at every thing. The only thing about these dogs are that they do need their coat groomed frequently. They do have two coats. a top and undercoat. But they are great dogs. And we just love ours..
...

My now fiancee and I purchased a pomeranian from a pet store a few months after we moved in together. I was interning at the time he was laid off from moving from a different town. So we went to the pet store with no intentions to purchase a dog but then we saw a fluffy little pomeranian and my fiancee thought she was so cute. So we ended up playing with her and Kyle fell in love with her. The pet store said she was purebred so she costed us 1,000 dollars with was alot of money with no income coming in~good thing for payment plans! The first year was really rough for me and I gave up on our new dog (Foxy) she ruined our carpet with potty stains and was terrible to train! After failed attempts of me trying to sell Foxy, we decided to keep her. Now she is part of the family and we could never imagine giving up our "child"
...

dovey says "Poms are a Wonderful breed for the right owners" about Dog Breed Pomeranian

I have had several different breeds of dogs. Growing up I had a German Shepard and Australian Sheep dog. Family next door had a Huskie and Irish setter. Grandparents had a poodle and Lab. As an adult I have had a Basset mix, Pomeranian mix, Japanese Chin, Cavalier and Pomeranian(2). I worked at a Vets office and had contact with so many breeds, I can't list them all.

My favorite bread so far has been the Pomeranian. When raised and socialized correctly, they are all around great companions. Now while every dog is an individual, you can make some generalizations. Most Poms bark a lot. A real lot. They need to be trained to stop. Most Poms are very smart, they need a little challenge to keep them happy and well behaved. Most Poms don't know they are tiny and will challenge much larger dogs. Most Poms are loyal and will follow their person or persons around the house, preferring to be with them. Most poms do not like to be left alone for any length of time. An owner who is gone all...
...

I currently have two rescue Pomeranians - brother and sister - couldn't be cuter, more loyal, and HILARIOUS. We have had these two for a year and a half and previously rescued two others - our first one was five when we got him and we were blessed to have him for over nine years. Cuddling, loving you, making you laugh, protecting their home and playing are their favorite pastimes. They are smart, loyal and joyful additions to any family. Pomeranians are wonderful companions and I would highly recommend this breed to an apartment dweller as well as living in the country. I urge everyone to look into rescue of this or any fur baby to add to their family...just be sure you are ready to fall in love forever!!
...

I absolutely love my Pom. Her name is Pinkie. She was my Christmas present. Poms are great with kids, a wonderful family dogs, and she has been very easy to train. Pinkie has such wonderful personality. She waits for me to come home. She loves to play with her toys and her humans. She is so sweet...a little sassy, but that is what makes her personality so great! If you love little dogs, definitely consider a Pom!...

I have three small dogs, a Shi Tzu, a Pom and a Jack Russell. Although I love them all; my Pom Harley is my favorite. She's a beautiful sable and cream and weighs about 8 pounds.

She has the heart of a lion and thinks she's a giant. She will not back down when playing with my bigger dogs and will try to pull the Jack around by the tug of war rope. My Asta will let her do it for awhile and then will whip Harley around, leading to a lot of mean sounding yet tiny growls from the flying fur ball. She incredibly intelligent and very loving. I really think she's the smartest dog I've ever known and she can communicate with her eyes and her prancing behavior in ways that have to be seen to be understood. Some Poms are yappy but I think that's poor training. We knew we couldn't tolerate a lot of yappy noise so as a tiny puppy we taught her the Quiet command and now she'll bark to alert to visitors and she also has a game of chase the Jack Russell that involves a lot of noise but that's outside...
...

I love pomeranians because of their great personalities. They know what they like and they aren't afraid to show it. These dogs are super protective of their owners and loyal. They are easily excited which can cause them to frequently bark, so it may be a bother to people who are annoyed by high pitched barking. If you want a dog who is always by your side, get a pomeranian. i might not recommend this breed for people with young kids, but if they are taught not to be rough with small dogs, it should be okay. Small dogs may get in the way, so at times, it is easy to step on tiny paws. Watch out! Overall, it is very easy to fall in love with this breed.
...

About 8 years ago my daughter fell in love with pomeranians, while I did not care for the breed at all. That is until I saw my lil Angel. She is the sweetest most caring dog I have ever met. Shes practically human in my eyes. She very loyal, loves cuddling, warns of intruders and is perfect in every way. She is very calm, relaxed and easy going. We can take her anywhere without incident. Angel is also a smaller version of the breed. There are some of them that I feel have too long of snouts but overall I will continue to reccomend this breed to all that want a small dog. ...

I had a pomeranian when I was younger. This dog was very loyal. The only flaw I could find with him was his bark. Since it's such a little dog, it has a yippy bark and that gets slightly annoying after a while but besides that, I love pomeranians. They're adorable and once you're hooked, you're hooked for life....

I absolutely adore all dogs but my heart truly does belong to the balls of fur we call pomeranians. And how can you not love them, they are energetic, lap- sized, and playful. I personally have 7 poms who are my bestfriends. Poms, like many dogs provide us with a warm lick and a soft heart. Any dogs can be man's best friend, but I perfer a pom above the others...

I would recommend a Pomeranian to almost anyone. I have had my Pom for a year now, and I can't imagine life without him. He has such personality, he always makes my husband and I smile. He's not much of a barker, but he is there to protect us if he hears a strange noise outside. Pomeranians are also very smart, and easily trainable. The only negative thing I would have to say, is that our dog is extremly picky with food.
...

My toy Pomeranian is fantastic - eager to please, happy...and a little yappy (but heck, we all have issues, right?). She plays with the cats (she bosses them around, even though they are larger and older than she is). She's a friend to everyone, but always clings to family in crowds....

My "Sweetie" is the best thing that ever happened to me. Her real name is Sweet Blessing, and she was born on March 25, 2004. A tiny Pomeranian, she weighs exactly 7 pounds and has enough fur for two of her! She was given (yes, GIVEN!) to me by a breeder who frequented my work (I was then working at PetSmart), and often brought puppies that he'd let me "babysit" while he shopped for supplies. One day, he handed me only one of the puppies, and then went on to do his shopping. When he came back, he said:"How do you like her?" I answered, "You know I love Poms." To which he answered, "Then she's yours". I almost fainted! It was at a very rough time of my life, and no one could have given me a better gift!

Since then, she has been my constant companion, sleeps snuggled beside me (none of my many dogs has ever been allowed in my bed), follows me everywhere, and lies contentedly near me while I work or read. She isn't yappy or demanding (except when I first arrive home from...
...
