I have a 2005 Dodge Caravan SXT. We bought it in December of 2006. It has come in very handy especially since I am a Girl Scout leader and I use it to drive my troop to a lot of places and meetings. It has also come in very handy for my family. We have driven my family of 5 to Chicago and back twice, Alabama and Florida and back. I have almost 80,000 miles on it now and have not had much trouble with it. Right now I am having trouble with the automatic locks though. They go and up down after I press the lock or unlock button on the remote control key fob like it's haunted or something. I found a forum on this problem online last week and evidently everyone that has a Dodge Caravan or Grand Caravan has encountered the same problem at about the same mileage. This problem has been fixed by taking out a fuse for about 60 seconds to a few minutes and inserting it again. This is only a temporary fix however. It would probably cost a lot more at the dealership to have it fixed from what everyone...
...

The caravan is useful when you have kids. Great to go on vacations in, very roomy and if u don't have enough room you can remove a seat. Only thing that I do not like, is it has no get up and go. so if you are stuck in a situation when you need to get and move out, it doesn't....

We bought an 05 Dodge caravan, and we have had nothing but problem after probelm with it. Maybe we just got a lemon, but everyone that I have spoken with, that also own one, have had the same problems. I had to replace the passenger side airbag sensor 5 times before they finally recalled it. 3 times, I have had to have the windows fixed, because a part keeps coming unglued allowing the window to 'drop', as well as haveing to have both window moters replaced. There have been several other things, that have cost me over $3,500 last year, in repairs alone.not includeing regular maintenance. (this is with a good warenty, most of that are just $100 co-pays!) I only have 50,000 miles on this thing, I have payed less in repairs, without a warrenty on my old GMC truck with 127,000 on it....

sifu305 says "Thank goodness for my van!!!" about Dodge Caravan - 2005

Ok, if your the parent of 3 or more children, the phrase "stop touching me!" is probably engraved in your head. This was all too true when trying to transport 3 sons ages 10,8,&6 in a Honda Accord. I had just had enough!

The kids were mashed together in the back seat and almost as miserable in the car as ME. One afternoon after coming home from picking up the kids and running errands, I through the keys down and told my husband I had had enough. We were getting a van! 3 days later the five of us packed into the Honda and set out for the "save mommies sanity van". We went to a quality pre-owned car lot and began our quest.

Having a newer Honda to trade in we had a lot of vans to choose from. When they showed us the 2005 Grand Caravan I knew it was the one. We all got in, me and hubby assumed our positions in the front. The two youngest boys grabbed the two captain seats and the oldest jump in the back. The salesmen started the car and showed us the DVD player. I was sold!

It was...
...

typeamom says "I was surprised that I like driving this minivan! Who knew?" about Dodge Caravan - 2005

When an ultrasound revealed I was having twins a couple years ago, one of the first things that popped into my head was, "Oh, no! I'll have to get a minivan!" With three kids, two in car seats and one in a booster seat, I didn't really see any other feasible option.

I'd always vowed I would never be a minivan mom, but the only other semi-affordable options were oversized SUVs in which it's hard or impossible to get a kid into the last row of seating.

When shopping for a minivan, I wasn't particularly excited about any model. After all, they're all minivans. How hot does it get? So I searched for a model that was more affordable so I could get a newish used minivan. The Dodge Caravan kept popping up as high in customer satisfaction.

So the first time I test-drove one, I was a bit surprised. It was actually very comfortable, and even a little fun to drive. I won't win any street drag races, but I don't really need to. I found one with the optional built-in DVD player, and that is a must-have.......
