What is it with high end design and vacuums? I guess we want our houses to be clean and want to buy the most futuristic products possible, even though the basic workings of a "vacuum" is simply to suck air and hopefully with it dirt.

Basically vacuuming as an activity "sucks", pardon the pun. It needs to be done far too often and its basically a pain. Especially if one has to drag out a cast iron industrial sized Kirby that one got as a wedding gift about 15 years ago (the monster won't die!)

I think it all started with that luxury bagless vacuum, the Dyson with its SUV type styling and expensive price tag yet lackluster results. The race was on to produce more and more exotic looking vacuums. Maybe vacuums are purchased by men in some kind of death wish gift buying spree for their wives. Or maybe men make the most messes and are told to clean them up or else but they vacuums coming on the market certainly seem to be aimed at men buyers. Of course if one has a 50 pound Kirby vacuum its...
...

andrealoans says "The DirtDevil Cone is great to have on hand" about Dirt Devil Cone Vacuum

The Dirt Devil Cone looks nice on a table, which makes us more likely to use it. I have to admit it doesn't have the most powerful suction and you have to empty it often, but it is great from small messes or when an area just needs a touch up! We bought 2 for our house and one for my mom and one for my grandma when they were on sale. I like the fact that my kids can easily use it to clean up little messes. If you remember that this is made to just clean up a small area, real quick, you will be happy with this vacuum. The battery does not last that long but it is plenty long for small jobs and touch ups. We read reviews before we purchased the 4 we bought and so we knew that it was not intended for large jobs and that you can expect it to replace your vacuum by any means, it is really just a stylish vacuum for touch ups that you wont feel bad if you leave out when company is around. It is great to clean up dog hair that has collected in a corner or that left over strip from a dust pan....
...

yangrou says "Vacuuming Never Looked So Good!" about Dirt Devil Cone Vacuum

The Dirt Devil Kone has been all the rage for a household item that serves both a functional purpose and yet is appealing to the eye. Vacuums have never had aesthetic appeal of any kind. You could easily say they have the attractiveness of a prostate exam but that was until the Dirt Devil Kone came along.

Let's not fool ourselves in thinking that the Kone can pack any power in its vacuum. It is only a hand held device that can sit quietly and attractively in a corner without drawing unnecessary attention to it. But it does what it's set out to do and that is to do some simple clean up when necessary.

The Kone was the perfect purchase for me and my wife as we just moved into a small apartment with limited storage. The need to purchase a full sized vacuum was completely unnecessary but we did need something to do the occasional clean up in certain spots. The Kone would do just that. I can spot clean the entire living and dining room area in less than 2 minutes!

The color options are White,...
...

mamahouchin says "The Dirt Devil Cone is very practical." about Dirt Devil Cone Vacuum

I am a busy work-from-home mom of two little ones. They are quite messy, so I clean up after them several times throughout the day. Although some messes do require a little more work, I have found that the Dirt Devil Cone is fairly useful for my situation.

The Dirt Devil Cone has several good things going for it. First of all, it is small. It sits on an end table in my living room and blends in quite well. This gives me easy access for a quick clean up without having a large or unattractive vacuum cleaner in the room. It is big enough to pick up items such as cereal, but not so large that my three year old cannot use it.

There are a few disadvantages to using the Dirt Devil Cone. Primarily, I have had problems with the filter. It is small, so it doesn't hold much and must be emptied after every use. It is also difficult to clean. It is supposed to brush clean, but I have found running it under cold water and letting it air dry does the trick.

Overall, I am glad I bought this product. It...
...

schatzan says "Not only does it work great but looks good too" about Dirt Devil Cone Vacuum

I picked this up at my local Big Lots for only 12 dollars and wow what a great price for a wonderful quick clean up to have around the home. I have another hand vac that hangs on the wall and I am forever knocking it off the wall (maybe I hung it in the wrong place.) The dirt devil cone vac has a wonderful cone design and has alot of suction power and is cordless. I use mine daily as I have two pomeranians who leave hair puffs everywhere, I just grab the handy dirt devil and poof they are gone. I have all tile floors and when I sweep the dustpan is NOT my friend so I carry my handy dirt devil hand vac and sweep as I normally do and just suck up with my hand vac. Also the charging base has a built in nite light so if you could use that it is a two in one. It can also be turned off to save energy. All in all I love it and this would make a great gift for someone just starting out I have also used it for quick pick up in my car. The drawback for this is it does not hold alot of dirt so you...
...

I absolutely love my Dirt Devil Kone! The Kone is very light-weight, compact, and easily portable. It runs cordlessly, which is a big help. Plus, they are totally adorable! It works very well. I have no problems cleaing up my 2 year old's messes. It picks up anything from food crumbs to crayon shavings. It also helps me pick up after my dogs. It has no problem picking up dog food pieces. I use it in the kitchen and bathroom on the hard floors instead of lugging the big vacuum in and out of these places. I even take it out to vacuum the car when there is a mess that needs cleaned. The price is very reasonalbe for the product. I paid around thirty dollars for mine and I have had it for about 6 months now. I know they are even cheaper than that know. You can pick one up for about fifteen dollars and up. I even bought my Mom one for mothers day! I would suggest this little vacuum to anyone.
...

textyke says "The Dirt Devil Cone vacuum is simply amazing for the price" about Dirt Devil Cone Vacuum

The Dirt Devil Cone Vacuum is quite the deal. It's small, light and quite powerful for its size. Initially I bought it as a joke more than due to need. Now that I' ve had it for awhile and have used it I find it quite useful. After I've vacuumed an area with my normal vacuum I use the cone for the edges and picking up anything I've missed with the large vacuum. If I had to find a negative it would be the cleaning of the filter. it is very accessible but not that easy to get clean. I've found that a can of compressed air works wonders though. You won't go wrong if you're looking for a small, portable, rechargeable picker upper. And it even works as a night light. I found it in a Big Lots store for $12.00. Yes, that's right $12.00 and yes, it is new and in the original box. Most other reviewers seem to have paid more but I guess my buying it as a joke paid off for me.
...

The Dirt Devil Kone Vacumm works great. I have three cats that are quite messy with the kitty litter. The Kone can really get into those tight spaces where kitty litter likes to hide. It also works well along baseboards, under cabinets, and inbetween the couch cushions. For larger jobs just grab your broom and sweep into a pile and then suck the whole pile right up with the cone. The battery lasts along time as long as you don't keep it charging all the time. To do this just turn it sideways in the base until the battery is almost depleted & then place on charger correctly.
...

I saw this product for less than $20 and thought that this would be a good value and perfect for picking up little things. Well, the hole is SO SMALL and the suction is so poor that it picks only the smallest things.

Wait, dirt is small -- and it is called the Dirt Devil -- but it doesn't do a good job of picking up that, so it doesn't even pick up the small things.

My wife and I ended up throwing ours away and getting the Eureka Quickup Vacuum, which is SO MUCH better. I have a review on that too. Only $35 and well worth the price.

I do not recommend this at all.
...

Nice to use if your have small messes and are in a hurry. Suction is not great, but will get small dirt and other spills. Does not pick out anything big. Comes in a variety of colors and looks nice if you need to store it in the open. Rechargeable. A little pricy for what it can actually do. You have to buy filters for it which get dirty VERY fast. Not the best product available, but easier to use then a full size vacuum....
