Do you love TV, but also have a life outside the house? If so, Tivo is for you.

I have had my DirecTV Tivo for 5 years and I can't remember what watching TV was like before. The basics are:

Record individual programs, set up season passes to your favorite shows, record shows based on wish lists and keywords.
Pause, rewind, fast forward live TV.
Our reciever has two tuners which means you can record two shows at once, watch one and record another.
Our reciever can record and store up to 32 hours of programming. This varies depending on the actual reciever you choose.

What does that all mean? Well, Tivo allows you to watch TV much more efficiently. You can get through an hour drama in 40 minutes, a half hour sitcom in 20 minutes, and a baseball game in an hour and a half. Using season passes and other advanced recording options allows you to easily manage what you are recording and when so you never have to worry about missing an episode of your favorite show.

The DirecTV Tivo Receiver allows me to record all the shows i would have missed while I was at work or out and about. I had it installed by a Direct TV installer. I would recommend this tivo for every Direct TV suscriber. Never miss your favorite shows again! I love my Tivo!!!...

I thought that this product would be very hard to work, but it is really quite easy to use. I really love not having the ability to fast forward through the commercials, the down side is that you will realize how many there are and start realizing just how long your show really is. I can record two shows at one time, and save them for later. I find it great when I can't find anything to watch on my cable, I can then go into my saved shows and veg out on the shows that I love.

I would definately advise to purchase one today.

I love this!!! We have had DirecTV tivo for several years now, and we love it!! It's so easy to use, my 5 year old is always recording shows that he loves. We record everything & then watch it later. We love being able to fast forward through commercials. Also being able to use the season pass is so great because you don't have to remember every week to record your show it will do it for you....

I love my Directv Tivo because it is so easy to program and it has alot of great functions. Also, Directv upgrades it with new features periodically. I work 2 days a week, and know that I don't have to worry about setting my programs every time. I understand that the newer Tivo's are different and more complicated, as my son has one, and can't believe the difference, but I hope the one I have never breaks, because I will have a great aid in choosing entertainment....

I went from just having the basic channels that come from the TV antenna to getting satellite TV with a TiVo recorder and I will never go back! With a young child I would never be able to watch my favorite shows with out TiVo. I can watch a 1 hour show in only 40minutes by fast forwading the opening credits and the commercials. It is fabulous when watching live TV because you can pause it and then come back. The only negative is that we bought the recorder with only 30 hours of recordable space and now I wish we had got the one with more space....

I can not say enough about the DirectTV Tivo. It is easy to program for upcoming shows, allows for fast forwarding through commercials (yea!) and the picture quality is superb. I advise anyone who doesn't currently have DirectTV, or who does but does not have Tivo, to subscribe immediately.

Greatest invention since the wheel. I own 3 TIVOs. They have changed the way I watch TV. I can watch what I want, when I want. Absolutely a great product. I would recommend TIVO to everyone - and I do. I've influenced several of my friends and family to get involved. They all feel the same way I do....

I purchased my DirecTV Tivo two years ago, when they first came available. This device is one of my best friends, lol. It has revolutionized the way I watch TV. Here are the main features of a Tivo. Please note, my Tivo has a dual receiver and not all Tivos have this feature.

Tape two different shows and watch a third show, all at the same time!

Fast forward through commercials and boring stuff.

Pause live TV and press play when you are ready. Perfect for families with barking dogs, like mine!

10 second instant replay and slow motion, great for the sports-lover

Easily set up programs to tape, search by time, channel, title, or even by keyword.

Set up a season pass of your favorite shows so you don't have to remember to tape them each week, it does it automatically.

Change the way you watch TV. It saves time by eliminating commercials and skipping the fluff of reality shows. Watch what you want, when you want, faster than normal. The ability to pause and rewind is fabulous. The kids bothering you?..no problem...pause. Dinner is burning? No problem..pause.

Clear picture, easy interface. This is the greatest thing since TV itself. Enjoy.

I am so used to TiVo and my husband made the switch to DirecTV's version. I am not a fan in any way. I could care less about watching something in HDTV and would much prefer the ease of being able to find what I am recording with TiVo's system. I would not recommend this device to anyone. Unless you are a film buff or a sports fanatic and you need to see blades of grass via HDTV or something like that. So not worth it....
