ademir says "Delta, United can break guitars, but yourselves can do worse too." about Delta Airlines

Delta Airlines-Wake up Delta Marketing Department, here is why...

Maybe the reason of my review is simply to attempt to educate Delta of its most inferior fault when it involves promotions operated by Delta, not any of its sponsors whom are the folks buying the skymiles to award my expeditures.

Here it is in a nutshell, Delta get your promotional department working as anticipated.

When Delta offers any promotion,at the very bottom of the terms and conditions of the promotions, it states the promotional code of the offer. When, these offers involve pre-registeration, the results becoming positive for that promotion rely upon those accountable to actually track that pre-registeration. last thing anyone wants is to pre-register and later provide complete proof and screenshots of their faults. Time is money,. better spent not correct errors of those whom are to become and remain accountable to ensure accuracy remains good.

Since Delta has embraces Northwest, please contact whomever was incharge...
...

JonnySpeed71 says "shockly poor compared to Virgin Atlantic" about Delta Airlines

I normally fly with Virgin Atlantic from London to NYC. In September 2009 I had a late booking and couldn't get a flight with Virgin on the day I wanted to fly, so I decided that Delta would be as good - after all they fly the same planes to the same destination, taking the same time... it must be identical. I was right in most respects, the flight took off on time and went to the same destination in the same time. The plane was identical to the one that Virgin use. That's all that was the same. The staff were rude, dressed in some kind of 1980s grey nazi style uniforms, only served drinks every 3 hours, blamed me for them not having enough vegetraian food - despite me showing them the comfirmation. And charging for a vodka at £5, especially out of a very cheap screwtop bottle is insulting. But mostly it was their attitude I could not stand. I asked politely. I smiled. I did no more that I would on a Virgin flight - and I was treated like I was economy scum. Not only did...
...

Delta was the cheapest airline to fly to New York from Heathrow this November and I bought two tickets and prayed. I needn't have worried. Very efficient check-in, early boarding, on time departure, friendly staff, plenty of legroom, modern, clean interior, early landing, no problems with baggage, on both the outward and return journeys. I will definitely fly Delta again: what value for money!
...

They tried to charge me extra for my luggage. Clerks didn't have enough information. Manager lied. Think twice before booking your trip with Delta-Northwestern-KLM. Check all information about rules before you leaving your house. Don't trust Delta's authorities.
...

We flew Delta from Los Angeles to Sydney, economy class, and were very pleased. Even though we were in economy class, we thought that the seats were pretty comfortable, and the fact that they had so many movies and tv shows available made the trip go much faster than we expected. We thought that the flight attendents wanted to make the flight as good as possible, made frequent passes with water, and were willing to provide something to drink upon request. Would not hesitate to fly on Delta again,
...

I just had another exprience with Delta Airlines which has made me decide never to travel in this airline. Last year I got a ticket booked with Delta and could not travel. THey gave me credit which they said I could use by 9th Octboer this year. Then I could not ever find a suitable flight to use in a year. So cam October and I called their customer service. They told me no one else could travel using that money and I could not even book my minor daughter to travel with me. To my surprise, this representative told me I have to travel by the 8th. I kept repeating that I was told 9th when I cancelled the ticket, but the rep kept saying the records show 8th. I thanked him and hung up.

After 5 minutes I called up to ask if the travel should finish by the 8th or start. This time a rep named Chris was on the other side of the line. The moment I gave my cancellation number, he told me that I can travel by the 7th. This came as a shock because I wasa prepared to travel by the 8th. I told him five...
...

I fly on Delta pretty regularly. The staff (from the ticket counter to the in-flight crew) are always very attentive and friendly. In the many years that I have been flying on Delta, I really haven't had any bad customer service experiences. I did have my luggage lost once, but I was quickly reimbursed. They recently added GoGo Inflight internet service to most of their planes. It makes the cross country flights much more enjoyable being able to get online. Plus, they still give you a snack to munch on and sometimes its the little things that make a big difference.
...

I had a flight from ATL to LAS that is a long time to be on a flight (5 hours) but Delta made it great. I was in the economy class but I though it was very roomy and comfortable(757-200). The cabin was very clean and I found out that Delta cleans there carpet more then any other airline. The flight crew was very professional and pleasant. The flight was about five minutes late leaving ATL but the pilot made that time in the flight and we landed a head of schedule. Our bags were on the carousal before we even got there. I will always fly Delta. The Delta red coat agent (customer service agents) were very help full to all passengers even one from Airtran who was mad at Airtran's lack of customer service and thanked Delta for thier commitment to it.
...

I love this airline so much I fly with them just about every weekend and they never let me down. My latest trip took me from Orlando to LAS and it went off without a hitch. I could of flown on US Airways nonstop but I do not want to deal with that terrible airline. The crews are always pleasant and helpful, also gate agents are very polite and pleasant. The cabins are always well maintained and clean the seats are comfortable and there is a pretty good amount of legroom.

Delta Airlines will be my very last choice if I have to travel again. We had a connecting flight, with a layover in Salt Lake City. Due to turbulence, we touched down when our connecting flight was due to take off. The onboard announcement said to "check the flight information" when we disboarded.

The monitor said the flight was closed, and the only employee around said "Call customer service, they will rebook you on another flight." With three twelve year old girls in tow (en route to a national competition), I found the phone bank and spent 12 minutes on hold. Then, and only then, our names were announced overhead - we were told to go to a gate on the other side of the airport. We flagged down a tram, jumped on and arrived at the gate - as they closed the door. The plane was still attached to the gangway but she refused to let us on. "We paged you three times, what more do you want?"

They rebooked us for the next day. We waited at the gate, and only when the plane...
...

Delta Flight (NYC - Atlanta - Aruba) - Labor Day Weekend 2009

I would consider myself a fairly seasoned international and domestic traveler flying economy, premium/business, and first/upper class at different times. Put it this way...I traveled enough to have to have extra pages added to my passport. When traveling internationally I usually opt for an international airline (the service is just simply far superior) when traveling overseas. But on a recent trip I allowed a destination wedding travel agent to make my travel arrangements for my mother, my ex-husband (who is handicapped and in a wheelchair and is also British) and myself. I wasn't expecting much but a seat and transportation fit for a Fed Ex package but I have to say that even with my low expectations Delta managed to lower them even more. Forget the standard and almost comical changing/canceling of the flights, rude and despondent staff (80%), sometimes you get a blanket and sometimes you don't, sometimes you have to pay for...
...

globetrotter says "Pet travel problems - Delta incompetent " about Delta Airlines

I booked a flight from SFO to Dublin, Ireland by way of Atlanta on Delta. I spoke with the reservations department as did the travel agent from Quinn Travel (San Francisco, CA). We were told that I could bring my small cat as carry-on provided I obtain the proper health certificates.

I did all that was required and had all paperwork with me but was still refused boarding on the plane. The first "issue" was that the hard-side carrier was too large for carry on with a pet. The size of the carry on was well within the limits of regular carry on but I was made to purchase a soft-side carrier for the trip. (By William J at SFO) After I had done that I was told that Ireland would not accept pets from in the cabin travel and that my cat must travel as cargo. Then I was told that Ireland had an embargo against pets traveling into the country from May to September 15, 2009.

I am out a great deal of expense due to Deltas misinformation and lack of professionalism.

I MUST take my cat back to the vet...
...

yanesan says "Delta business class almost worse than coach on other airlines" about Delta Airlines

I recently took a business class flight to and from the UK on Delta. It was a tacky, classless experience, certainly not worth the business class markup. Unless you are intensely interested in extra space, Delta business class is simply not worth it and here's why.

Unlike Northwest, Air France or others, the cabin attendants do not know one's name and are barely present at boarding. The service is always slow because of their mode of serving all of one aisle, then the other (if you want rapid service, sit starboard). As you sit there, not being served, not having your coat taken, you are forced to listen to bad country music. Sorry. Not a fan. Some may deem that better than Northwest's whining Kenny G, but really--

I could never hear one PA announcement on either flight. The video system crashed repeatedly on both flights.

No one takes a flight for the airline food, but Delta's business class offerings are inedible--terrible. Someone needs to tell their head "chef"...
...

Granted, it was last minute travel. Bought the tickets the night before--five tickets: 2 adults, 3 seated children, and a lap child. We opted not to check bags--DA's baggage fee of $25 per made that unreasonable. But, they did check one for free, after they saw us struggling through the airport with all our luggage. Flights to and from Charleston were on time. Pre boarding for small children an option. Enjoyed it there and back again.
...
