I was on the market for a new computer, and did some serious shopping around.

I had 2 options:

1. buy the parts, and put the computer together

2. buy a brand name PC

Both options have pros and cons, but I was thinking that I would have a better bang for my buck if I would go with a self-built machine.

Then, I came to browse dell Outlet. It is basically all the computers that dell either built for someone, or recertified, or got returned, etc...

You are going to say: well it's refurbished, and I want new. Here is the kicker, it might be refurbished, but Dell is applying the same warranty as on new, built-to-order models.

So I got myself a nice Quad Core with 4GB of RAM and 500GB of harddrive below the 500 dollar mark, and that was last year... not too shabby

Dell being a respectable company, I took the plunge. I have the PC for about a year, added a few months ago a video card for some gaming, and the system is handling it all nice and smooth.

Before I purchased my Dell Inspiron 530, my old computer was slowing down and failing constantly. I did a lot of research into what I wanted in my new computer. It had to have a faster processor and A LOT more memory. I was also ready to upgrade to Windows Vista. My Inspiron shipped from Dell very quickly and was easy to set up and use.

I went from a cpmputer that crashed daily to a system that hasn't crashed at all yet even though there are three of us using it for personal reasons and I am using it for small business ones. The slim line monitor saves a lot of desktop space as well.

I would recommend this computer to PC users who need a more powerful machine with more memory than the one they already have. I have had it for about a year now and wonder how I could have ever gotten by with my old machine.

Also, for any reason I have ever had to contact Dell, their phone technical support ahs always been friendly and helpful.

I purchased this Dell Inspiron in June 2009 with Vista Home Premium installed. I've always owned HP/compaq computers and they were good, but still not quite what I wanted in a computer. This Dell is great! It's simple to run, it has lots of usb ports so I can plug in many things at once and it doesn't slow it down. There are ports both in the front of the tower and the back. There is a standard port on the back so older model items can still be used or you can purchase a usb adaptor. It runs so quiet that sometimes I have to check to be sure the light is on! lol My old computers were loud and caused my ears to ring. The images are always clear. The sound quality is very very good.

The Dell Inspiron 530 is a solid piece of machinery. I have owned as well as built other computers in the past and the Inspiron 530 is as trouble free as they come. I have experienced absolutely zero problems in my 1+ year of owning this product and have been thoroughly impressed by its rock-solid performance.

The Inspiron 530 is also easily upgradable. I have upgraded that factory memory from 2 GB to 3 GB as well as added and aftermarket harddrive with little required effort. The machine is put together very cleanly and the wires are neat on the inside.

The Intel Quad core that I have is running at 2.4 Gigahertz per core and as smoothe as can be. It also has a factory installed ATI graphics card with 256 mb of video memory. I have installed professional drafting software (Inventor and Revit) and have had nothing more than little hiccups from the system (because of the details of the drawing, not system deficiencies)

Overall the Dell Inspiron 530 with the 2.4 Quad core processor and 3 Gb...

I am writing about this computer because It isn't the best one like everyone say it is. When i got it i was thinking that it was going to be a ok computer. The system is window vista and i really don't like window vista it is a lot of this that you can't do with this system. The system XP works better to me it have a lot more thing you can do it program you can get into. You have lots of systems you can get into . My computer is silver and it has the cd and dvd buner on it it also have some nice programs like the resume making programs. When you go and buy your next one don't get this one get the one for business not the just basic one. The one of any computer is always the one that no one really want and need unless you place on making it a music computer only or typing information on it for work or school. That is the only thing this one is good for me. Iwish i would have not trying to be so cheat and got the one that i really wanted. So next month i will make sure that i go and get the...

I just recently purchased a Dell Inspiron 530 computer and I have had nothing but problems since the day I hooked it up! Just to let you know a few things about the return policy. I was not able to return the computer on the 8th day that I had received it because the return policy starts from the date the order is placed. I called Dell and told them the disk drawers would not open, they kept getting stuck. Then it started making a very loud clicking noise when I would get on the internet. My screen that I had with my last computer a "Dell" Pentium III does not work properly and to this day I am still having problems with the screen. It works fine on my son's computer, just not mine. I called Dell on the eigth day that I had the computer and explained just some of my problems. So the support agent went in and completely cleared my computer of all things I had entered. I also believe he ran a diagnostic test and cleaned up some of the problems. But as of today August...

I had seen the Dell ad for the inspiron 530 and I though it was a good deal. In general it has been a good system with the exception of being able to run games. It has a very poor video card and I cant run most games. I feel that Dell should have mentioned thr poor video card and at least recomended a card that would be appicable to gamming

I have always loved computers, I started using them rather young. I grew up watching my mom and my older sister using computers, so I wanted to use one too. I purchased the Dell Inspiron 530 Desktop computer for my husband for a gift. It came with a large screen I believe it's 22 inches. The monitor is flat and on a stand it also included speakers. There is an area where u can hook up USB's and Media Cards it is coventenly in the frount of the computer under the ROM. It runs on Vista. The key board is very nice and came with a wrist rest to help with good body mechanics. The price at the time was cheap for what I could afford and was a good deal at the large retail store. I purchased more RAM to go into the computer instead of two my husband wanted four. He is an internet gamer and four would be perfect for him. After attempting to add the RAM to the computer we found that it was only for 3RAM not four. He still can game but not with all full graphics. Vista is hard to use and has many pop ups. The tower is noisy when the fan is on, but that is somewhat common with computers. The ROM is not a rewritter but works well. ...

Dell manufactures good computers. If possible, make your purchase from a dealer rather than on line or by phone. Once the sales person hangs up or goes off line it is impossible to recontact him/her. In addition be aware of all the "add ons " that will be included even if you do not want them.

The Inspiron is a little power house when it is up and running. However, should you require assistence from tech support it can be a bit dicey. Tech service is off shore so the possibility of reaching someone who is fully fluent in English is a gamble.

A new development in Tech support is more than annoying. I paid for 3 (three) years of support, Recently needed to call for tech help, the person who took my call was not able to recognize the problem but assured me that I could get assistance from the PAY for Service Dept. My Question is What did I pay for when I paid for 3 years support.

I say buyer beware. If you are a techie go for it, if not make sure you have a techie friend....

I love my Dell Inspiron 530 desktop pc. I have had it about a year now and have had no serious problems with it.

Actually have had only one or two problems and they were because I was knowledgeable enough. I would definitely buy a Dell again.... Maybe a laptop would be nice.

This Dell Inspiron 530 is a fantastic computer! I use it for work and play. It is fast and rarely gets stuck. It seemed noisy at first but really isn't that bad. The screen is nice and big and has a great picture when downloading movies or videos. We have it networked to another pc, a laptop, an all-in-one printer, and an extra harddrive. It easily handles all of the work without slowing down. I also use it to create a large booklet for my children's school auction. It very easily handles the load of doing the booklet. i can easily move between pages without delay. Another advantage is the card readers and sd ports along with the usb ports in the front. they are easily accessible and just down right handy. We use them frequestly to upload pictures and music and also to charge our mp3 players. This computer easily handles the thousands of pictures we have downloaded into its memory. A wonderful investment.

I have had the Dell inspiron 530 since Oct 08 and have not had one problem, it is fast and well worth the money for the home user. I can store my pictures and make them into slide shows or dvds. I can do my word processing, get online with no problem and do my banking etc. I have always owned Dells and this one is just as good as my last one which lasted 10 years. Dell has a very good warranty and is very good at helping you decide exactly what you need on your computer. They are not pushy and don't try to sell you needless things. The computer is exactly what I wanted and more. It has the ability for me to add on in the future but I probably won't need to since it has exactly what I want. If I have any trouble Dell has a support line that is helpfull. With Dell you can build it yourself and choose the monitor you want, you can also just get a standard model but why when you have a choice of what you can get. I would recommend the inspiron 530 to anyone who wants and excellent...
