I have to say that I really enjoyed my laptop until it started draining my battery life, I bought a new battery and it drained it completely. Less than 24 hours and I had to go back to an outlet and plug in. This is not very convenient when I have a 2 year old and need to move locations when doing work. It is very limiting and when I went online to troubleshoot Dell will not provide any information because my warranty is up. I find that to be terrible customer service. Luckily my husband is very good at computers so I will have to rely on him to try and figure out the problem.

The Dell Inspiron 9300 is huge. I got this laptop 4 years ago for college and it's still pretty much alive. It is great for multitasking because of the huge wide screen, which I love for times when I just downloaded a movie, or when I'm editing something on Photoshop. However, right after my one year warranty, the screen started getting these one pixel lines going up and down the screen. They accumulated until I had about 10 lines on my screen and it was terrible. The warranty was up but Dell had a recall program for a specific group Inspirons sold around the time I bought mine, so thank goodness I got it replaced. But 4 years later, the pixelated lines came back and now I have about 7 of them. I'm not sure of it's just the Dell screen, but I would say this is a big problem with Dell laptops. I had a bunch of friends who had the same problem and it seems to only be with Dell laptops.

All in all, Dell is great for customization of your laptop and easy shopping. But avoid it if you don't...

I've owned Hp's, Apple's, Toshiba's and IBM's in my 33 years and this year was the first time i was silly enought to buy a Dell Computer. Within the first week the mousepad was having an issue and I found myself having a difficult time scolling my mouse around. By month 2 the cheap Dell frame began to crack on the bottom left hand corner of my computer. I went to a pretty lousy lower-middle class college known as the U of South Florida in Tampa and I should have realized that considering 80 percent of the students whom attended that school seemed to own a Dell....I should have have avoided this machine like the plague. I cant really say anything good about it.....their are scratched everywhere on its shiny metalic looking panel and It's the epitome of an all style, no substance computer. Stick with an Apple of Hp and you should be fine. I have a Toshiba that I picked up at Walmart for 400 and It is much better than the hapless Dell!!

The inspiron 9300 has worked flawlessly in the time I have had it. I upgraded the RAM and I can't find a reason to replace it. Sure, the new netbooks are tempting with their low prices but along with teh low price comes a small screen, barely any computer power or graphics capability. I'll stick with this desktop replacement anytime. Dell may not make the most stylish laptops but they definitely have built one to last here. I think the next replacement will be a laptop with the Ultra low voltage chip so that I can take it on the road for 8-10 hours. That's the only limitation for this laptop along with its weight, it's probably 9 lb or more.

update: The screen is finally starting to show its age and it gets a line or two where the LCD is giving out. Perhaps it's time to start shopping for a new laptop again. I'll stick with Dell as they have good offer a good value and reliable laptops.

The Dell Insprion 9300 is a great laptop with some serious power. Although the hard drive is small at 35 gb, it has plenty of USB ports to plug any one the numerous external hard drives available at in electornics store, (Best Buy, Staples, Office Depot, etc. ). Would recommend this Dell to anyone. The Wi-fi is great, although it can be a little finicky at times. With the 17" screen, weight becomes an issue and it can be difficult to use for extended periods of time. Get the padded pack back to transport this laptop around. It makes your like so much easier. Have replaced my desktop computer with the laptop, because of all the 6 USB ports. No unplugging and replugging equipment into the laptop. The keyboard is takes a little getting used to because the keys are set in so far due to the large screen. As usual the Dell support was great and got me the same price this laptop as the one I tried to build on line, that wasn't nearly as good as this one. Can't go wrong with this...

Dell ships a lot faster than they say which is great. They customize everything and the ordering process is simple. It took minutes to create a computer with everything I need on it and had it in my hands a week later. Looks great and is simple to use! Will definilty purchase another Dell in the future....

I got my Dell Inspriron 9300 last March. I had wanted one for so long. Laptops are a bit different then PC's but they make life easier. You can be near you kids and still feed your computer addiction.

I use mine daily. My kids are sometimes allowed to use it. It runs fast and smooth. Kids added a bunch of games and it did not slow it down.

I highly recommend this product. It performs, company you trust, and the colors let you express yourself.

I have had my dell insprion 9300 since I started college and it has been with me through a lot of late night paper writing and picture downloading. It is a great computer. I bought the extra wide screen to watch movies. The downside to that is it does not really fit into the backpacks or bags that are made for the normal size computers. One thing I did not like was that the sides started to show cracks in the paint only several months after I got it, also the letters on the keys wore away after a ltitle while too. But overall the computer has a lot of storage space, good screen quality and has been a trusted friend....

The Dell inspiron 9300 is one of the best laptops I have come across. I purchased mine back in 2005 and it is still going strong. I have a 4 year warranty that came with the package deal and have replaced a couple parts here and there. Dell's warranty service is phenominal for the most part the replacement parts came next business day and the technicians they use are well trained knowledgable servicemen. I recomend upgrading the video card to a 128 MB instead of the standard 32 or 64 MB card that is comes with as default. ...

Getting the Dell Inspiron 9300 Laptop was the best decision I've made. It has all the qualities you could ever want in a laptop. It offers the Intel Pentium M Processor and extended battery life. Also offers incredible graphics performance for entertainment applications.It has a large screen but its easy to travel with.

This is a fantastic laptop. I bought it with the wide screen (19") and everyone can't get over how great the picture quality is. You never squint, you can watch movies on it, you can run tons of programs at the same time, and it never slows down. Adding the extra memory and processor are well worth it. I do graphic design and frequently run extensive programs and it operates great. I store tons of huge pictures and never run out of space. Fantastic!!...
