I have a brand new Dell Inspirion 1721 laptop that I just bought last month (Sept.). It looks great but I have been having more problems with it than its worth!

I have ablolutly fallen in love with my inspiron 1721. It has so many features. One of my favorites is the wireless that is built right inside. Another is that I do so much work for my Tupperware business on this computer that the side number pad is very helpful. Anytime I have hed a problem which has not been much other than me not understanding much about computer stuff, I have just called dell and they have been nice enough to walk me through anything I have needed. even if I has other questions that weren't related to what I called for they were very helpful. The wide 17 inch screen on this computer makes it great for watching movies. The speakers really make the movie sound great. The mouse is very easy to use ulike other laptops I have had in the past. I would honestly recomend a dell computer to anyone who was looking for a laptop for work or there kids in high school or going to college.

This Dell Inspiron 17 Laptop is a good machine but needs more hard drive and more ram in order to be great. I have found that I am always running out of hard drive room. I like to have a lot of programs open and running at the same time and am switching between them which sometimes causes problems and the machine will run very slowly or in the worst case stop completely. This has happened a number of times in the last 6 months. I am hoping that the new Windows 7 will fix this problem as I have been told that it takes less memory to operate it. Basically the Dell Inspiron 17 is a great machine but does need to have more memory, I would say at least 512K or more. In this case I think the more the better would hold true. Other than this problem I have not had any major issues with the Dell Inspiron 17. The color is good however it could be made better with an upgraded video driver, this would make the picture sharper.

I've owned a couple PCs and used many PCs and laptops at work, and this is my first home-owned laptop. I love this laptop!

Mine is the pink variety, and I love the color and the finish - it's scratch and stain resistant and keeps its beauty intact. I bought it shortly after this model was introduced, and have been thrilled with it the whole 1.5 years I've had it so far. The keyboard/mousepad combination are comfortable to use, the hinge is quite sturdy, and the 17-inch screen is awesome! Overall its performance has been excellent (fast, responsive), and I have no complaints there at all.

My only minor complaint is that it takes 2 hands to lift up the top to open it, but that's not a big deal, really. If that means giving me the strong hinge that will keep the screen at exactly the angle I want no matter where I put it, then it's worth it. I have on occasion noticed the amount of heat escaping the outlet on the left, but I do tend to be on it for hours at a time, so that doesn't...

I bought the Dell Inspirion 1721very excited about transitioning to a laptop from a desktop, and the size of this one (17") makes that transition very easy. I'm not a huge fan of Vista, but I can deal. It runs pretty fast and doesn't give me too many problems or hangups.

The problem is really with Dell's shoddy workmanship. In the first 6 months, Dell had to replace my hard drive three times. This is a huge inconvenience, obviously, and each time I had to make the switch I lost all of the files and information that was stored on the hard drive. Then, my keyboard started acting weird. I would press an "F' and it would type a "P" and stuff like that. Dell sent me a new keyboard. It worked for a couple of weeks, then quit. Dell had to actually send a tech to my house to fix that problem. After that, my warranty expired (of course!). I haven't had too many problems since then, although my keyboard still acts very quirky. I can be typing along and the cursor will just jump up into the paragraph...

This Dell Inspiron 1721 laptop computer has all of my computer using needs all in one. I have owned it now for about a year and never have had any problems with it.

This particular laptop is a "entertainment" computer, as the 17" monitor is perfect for movie viewing, television viewing (when I use the TV connector components included with the purchase), and music/photo viewing and editing.

I have been very satisfied with it's performance and know that I would definately upgrade my Dell laptop to a newer version when the time is right!

This laptop is the best laptop ever. I purchased a little over a year ago and it has more than enough space on the computer. My fav features are the keypad and the wide screen..My not so favorites are that I can not a find a laptop bag that is pink, big enough to fit the 19'" screen....

This laptop is fabulous. Made of high quality with the screen protector, large screen and good quality. Your own private little portable office with wi fi built in. Couldn't ask for better. Not the "plastic" like many. A fairly heavy piece of equipment and a wonderful gift. My husband whom I got if for loves it. Top of the line and the best. The only one I found with the nice larger screen and the screen protector included. We all know that Dell is the best....

My first experience with a computer was a Dell. I've had two desktop computers and a laptop since 1990. I've never had a problem with any of my Dell computers. I prefer a laptop to a desktop. A laptop you can carry it with you anywhere. There are fewer wires to connect. You don't have to worry about a mouse or a mouse pad because you have a touchpad on the laptop.

I bought my Dell Inspiron 1721 Laptop last year at Staples. My parents wanted to buy them a new Dell desktop computer. Their computer died some time ago. Since I was shopping for a Dell laptop, I just gave them my Dell desktop computer. My desktop was only two years old.

About the Dell Inspiron 1721 Laptop~
The exterior is all black except for the top is midnight blue. The interior is silver and the keyboard has black lettering. The keyboard has a feature not on most laptops, a numeric keypad. The mouse is a touchpad, which is easy to use.

The LCD display is a widescreen 17" XGA. There is a built-in camera...

Bought this computer as a freshman in college. Decent for music, word processing, light internet surfing, etc. Not much else. I never tried photoshop or DVDs with it, so I don't know about that stuff. I use my iBook for the more hefty stuff. This is a good computer to take with you to class and stuff, though.

Great labtop computer for anyone weither your a student, professional, or just use a computer for your own pwesonal use. I would recomend this labtop to everyone who needs a computer. It is good for anything you can do on a computer. I have never had anytrouble with is labtop and I don't know anyone that has this labtop that has had trouble with it.

Works great, few problems. I mostly use my computer just for the internet, and my dell does not hold me back in any way. I am not a computer nerd and don't use too many games with graphics or anything, but this computer is certainly a good choice for sitting back, surfing the web or watching a movie....

I received this as a christmas present last year, and i must say, it has been one of the most useful things i have ever owned. It's easy to transport around, although not the lightest laptop i have come across, and i can use it wherever i go. The screen is large and i don't think you would want it any larger, in fact it's the perfect size for a laptop. The lid is black, along with the base, and i find that it's easily marked by fingers however the silver keyboard and around the screen was great and the keys were a good size and clear to see, as were all the buttons. At the front of the laptop you could instantly mute the sound and the volume could quickly be adjusted...

For the specs and price of this laptop it is definitly not worth the price. I bought this machine back in December and it has done nothing but disappointment me so far. The first thing that happened is I had to call the help line and have them send me out a new hard drive because that was broken. Then the next thing was that I had to trade it in for a new one because the mother board was broken. Next the machine they sent out was wrong and I had to...you get the picture. Also for the specs I have on it the inspiron does not run nearly as well as something with half of the processing power. I highly reccomend against this and would never buy dell again....
