hershey88 says "it works sometimes to get the job done." about Dell Dimension C521 desktop computer

this computer is good at times then at other times it isn't. The bad part about this is once it gets old dell will not update my warranty or give me a new one even after i offered to pay for it. i don't have the money to get a new computer. But over all this computer does get the job done at times. it does not have a lot of memory on it and being that it is a old model it wont let me connect to the internet at times. The screen goes out at times. The screen saver goes out at times also to the point where if i move the mouse or push the space bar the screen will not come on. so i have to end up restarting the computer. the mouse that comes with it is the kind with the ball and that don't last very long. so if you want this computer go ahead but get a laser mouse. the speakers are okay it sounds like a low tv sometimes. so the sound is kind of ok. the wires well lets say that there are a lot and i have a toddler so that is never good. the keyboard that comes with it works sometimes...
...

This product is very good. I love to be on it every chance I get. I'm alway surfing the web, burning music cds, completing homework for school. Without this product i would be lost. My desktop is my best friend. I have family members call me to ask me questions anout different icons and programs they have on them before they go out and purchase one. Once they review all the information in the book they see that I was right about what I said. My daugther and friends look to get on the dell to play games. I'm happy about my daugther because she would never get on it because she didn't know how to work it but now that she watch me she know how to turn it on, go on the internet, play her games and everything. That why I'm so proud of my dell. If anyone would ask me if they think a dell is a good product I would tell this yes. Well that is my story about my dell dimension c521.
...

Darkie says "I really enjoy my Dell Dimensions C521" about Dell Dimension C521 desktop computer

I have had my Dell Dimensions C521 for approximately two years now, and I have never had a problem with it. There are so many useful attributes about this computer. I very seldom have any trouble finding my files and programs. Once in a while, I have a problem finding some of my pictures, but that could be my fault, as they may have been put in the wrong place. I would recommend this computer to anyone who is looking to buy a new computer. You can't go wrong. The price was right and the quality is very good. Websites are easy to find and information sites are easily found. If a problem does arise, the troubleshooting aspects are very good and will even take you through the problem until you find the answer you are looking for. My son-in-law, who is a real computer geek had bought this same computer, and was the person who recommended it to me. I know that he would not steer me wrong, and I was right.
...

ht813 says "This Dell Dimension C521 is the best computer I have ever used!" about Dell Dimension C521 desktop computer

The Dell Dimension C521 is the easiest computer I have ever used. The set up was extremely easy and the design of the tower fits in perfectly with my office decor. Dell has done an outstanding job creating a computer that can be used for business or pleasure. I personally find the speed of the processor refreshing and I often play online games and puzzles using this computer. I look forward to coming home from work to use my Dell Dimension C521 to check my email and play relaxing games. Even when I have had problems with my Dell Dimension C521 I have been able to call Dell and have the problem fixed immediately. I have never had a problem that was not caused by a user error and yet Dell still helped me solve the problem. I always recommend Dell products to my friends and family and even got my mother to buy a Dell....

I am the editor of my high school's newspaper and yearbook and the school purchased these computers for all the computer rooms. After one semester with these computers--I'm thinking of going back to manual paste-ups. Atleast monthly the computers will shut down and delete very important pages (usually just around deadlines!) It takes me twice as long to get anything done and I have to delete anything that has been submitted so I have room to create new pages. We print an 8 or 12 page issue monthly. Honestly, that's not TOO much space. But to these computers, two pages is a complete overload. We've had to break down and use our own money to purchase an external hard-drive that we are constantly having to move from computer to computer. We also purchased jump-drives for all of our staff member and the majority of them hold more than the computers do! Also, the USB drives never seem to recognize when something is plugged into them. I will NEVER spend my own money on a PC--ever..especially......

We've had a few dells over the years, and were not thoroughly impressed with most of them; I am a bigger fan of the HP brand. However, prices for Dell PCs came down significantly, and I thought I'd give them a try again. I have not been disappointed. The graphics are good, and the computer is responsive. The screen is large enough to work with two windows/documents simultaneously, but at some point you might want to upgrade to a 22", if you watch to really enjoy your DVD movies. I have not had any power issues or anything like that, and there is a card reader built-in, so you can download your pictures easily. There are only two USB ports in the front, which is a bit of a hassle, but there are enough in the back. I partly use this computer for entertainment (to store pictures, edit home videos, and hold a lot of my music); unfortunately, there is no firewire port, which I should have thought off before I made the purchase. I purchased a separate device which includes a USB...
...

Overall I am very pleased with this product. The only issue is the location of the button that closes the CD drawer. It would be inaccessable if I didn't have small fingers. It could use more USB ports, but there were enough for my current needs....

My wife's four year old Intel Celeron-processor based custom-made computer was getting slower and slower (it seems) as the days passed, so we finally decided to purchase her a new one. I knew I wanted a Dell primarily because I get a nice little discount through work, but I didn't rule out Hewlett Packard either.

I spent two weeks on-line configuring different systems that both fit my specifications: (Dual-core 64-bit processor with at least 1MB cache, SATA hard drive backbone, 1GB DDR2 dual channel memory, DVD/RW drive, and 19 inch LCD). I needed a box that was robust enough to run Windows Vista, yet small enough to fit on my wife's desk, but checked in at under $1000.00. I looked at several models from Dell, and Hewlett Packard, but in the end I settled on the Dell Dimension C510 mini-tower computer.

My Viewpoint

Dell designed the Dimension C521 as an entry-level media-center computer, but we did not but it for that use. However, the computer shipped with Windows Vista...
...
