i am a photo addict and i can't get a consistant picture quality from one to the next. it won't print on picture paper half the time . the ink runs out to fast. you can't count on the 720 dell printer. i had two of them and both did the same shoudy job. neither one lasted very long. i would not recomend them to nobody. i love my dell computer but they need to do some work on the printer. i always got dell cartridges for my printerbut half the time it prints in red....

The printer starts as a good value but it is lousey at printing at times I had a faded image wich I thought was because of low ink here it was a new ink cartarige.

Its cheap so in the end you get what you pay for.
...

babyface0913 says "Good for small projects...but not large ones." about Dell 720 Photo Printer

This printer was the first one I started using. But I soon found that in less then 2 years it was not that good for printing my pics as I thought. I take alot of pics and when I wanted to print them I could only print a few at a time before the color would run. But if you are the type that just likes to print paper work then it would be the best for you. It is easy to use and it prints fast and clear....

mightymite says "good backup color printer" about Dell 720 Photo Printer

This printer was bundled with the Dell computer I purchased last year - it came at no extra cost. It isn't my primary printer (I have a laser printer in my office) but it's useful for home printing and the occasional photograph. Ink is expensive and gets used up quickly if you do a lot of printing on this machine, and it isn't easy to find cheaper ink cartridges than the ones Dell sells online (and reminds you about frequently via popups as the ink begins to get low in a cartridge). But as a backup printer and to print photos, this printer is serviceable and has been reliable. Dell includes printers like this one "free" with new computers in hopes of selling you lots of profitable ink cartridges, but if you only use it occasionally it can be a useful tool....

broker says "a cheaply priced, cheaply built printer, serves the purpose" about Dell 720 Photo Printer

I have had many Dell 720 printers since previously Dell used to send them for free with a labtop purchase. Well for my purposes I should say that it works fine. I only use it to print rebate forms, coupons, and etc. The only problem is though the paper feeder portion is broken the third time in the third printer of the same model I used with a little push. So it is really cheaply built. I should also say that it is not worth the list price at Dell's web site that is $49. The real price for the printer should be about $20 with the ink and it is possible to buy it for that price on ebay and likewise online shopping sites....

MattA75 says "You can do better, and worse, than this economical printer." about Dell 720 Photo Printer

When I bought my Dell Dimension E510, I was lucky enough to get a deal that included a Dell Photo Printer 720 for an additional $50. Since my printer at the time was just as old as the computer I was replacing, and since I had free financing for a year from Dell, I figured what the hell and spent the extra $50.

What I got was a reliable, if unspectacular printer that does what I need it to do, but might not cover a more advanced user's needs and/or wants.

OK, so first off, this is an affordable printer, even if you aren't buying a new computer with it. While Dell does not offer it for sale anymore, Ebay reveals a bunch of listings for it at this time, and all for affordable money (many for under $25).

I find the print quality to be decent, although it seems to eat color ink up like you wouldn't believe. On the bright side, the black ink cartridges seem to last forever. Mind you, I don't print out a lot of stuff; I'm more of a spreadsheet/word document kind of printer. I have...
...
