Deeceeba says "this is the best album they have ever put out!" about Def Leppard - Hysteria

Def leppard hysteria:this has to be one of the best bands out there, and they are still rocking after all this time.

Even though after the tragic death of the guitar player, and then the drummer loosing his arm in a accident. And who would of though that he found a way to keep playing the drums.

But even after all this the band still puts out some great hits.

I guess some of my favorite songs are pour some sugar on me, hysteria and also rock of ages.

I love most of all there songs, and i hope they keep rocking,

In a interview they had on television a few weeks ago, said that if they would not of put this album out with these great songs they never would of made it big.

But it's not just the songs that they put out, it's also there personality that goes along with it. And this makes a big difference with the audience.

I hope one day i can see this band in person!

I love these songs so much i bought the dvd and that was well worth what i paid for it many times over. So if you get a chance...
...

Def leppard's hysteria was a great sounding album well produced for the time. It is timeless as well you can play any track and be transported back to the time you first heard it. I love one of my favorites from def leppard...

This CD is classic Robert John "Mutt" Lange material, who is married to and produces Shania Twain. He is an absolute productions genius.

Hysteria is probably Def Leppard's best work and is one of the greatest rock albums ever. Due to Rick Allen losing an arm in an auto accident, the CD almost never made it to the studio for recording. Also, the band had disagreements with producers, and the album was in shambles before Lange came on board, writing songs and producing.

This is a CD for the record books, and for rock fans of all ages.
...

For those of who grew up with the 80's hair bands, you know this is an awesome cd. For those of you who did not grow up in that era and want to experience some of it, this is truely one of the best bands from the 80's and I recommned it to anyone who wants to hear what the 80's rock was about....

In my opinion, probably Def Leppard's best work to date. Definitely takes you back to the 80's era. This album definitely shows musical growth on their part. Not quite as rockin as some of the songs on high and dry, mainly their power ballad bringin on the heartbreak (a must have for any Def Leppard fan), but album has a better rockin flow through and through. I highly reccommend this album to anyone who truly likes good music period....

ceci9293 says "My favorite rock n roll album of ALL TIME." about Def Leppard - Hysteria

What can I say about this album? I can still listen to it on repeat in my car after all these years. The album is such a coherent, consistent group of great tunes it sounds like a Greatest Hits CD (and everyone knows those are the ones you really listen to, unless you're a mix-maker, which is even better.)

The sound is complex and multi-layered, full of harmonies and stacked guitar riffs, and definitely on the melodic pop side of the musical scale. It's hard to even call it metal sometimes, though that's where it was classified due to the sound of Def Leppard's previous albums, but it does have plenty of driving drums and wailing guitars if you like that. This album was the very apex of 80s Arena Rock in my opinion, which sums up the fist-pumping, sing-alonging, can't-stop-moving-your-head-to-it quality that's the defining strength of Hysteria.

I would recommend this album to anyone that likes music that was written for the sake of fun and rock-n-roll. It wasn't written to make a polital...
...

blakkno1 says "Hysteria is a more relaxing selection for the average metal head" about Def Leppard - Hysteria

Ahh, what can i say about hysteria? It's a great album. It doesn't necessary compare with Def Lep's other albums, but it is a good one. It's more of a mellow CD. I personally need to be in kind of a tired/relaxing mood to listen to it. It definitely has great tracks. I can't say that there are songs on the CD that I don't like. I do like them all. Animal...great track, Women, another great track. I would recommend it to someone lookng for something mellow or to the 80's big hair soft core chicks. If you're more of a Slayer/Iron Maiden/Megadeth fan, you may be disappointed with this one. If you're looking for something to bang your head to, you may want to skip this one....

Guilty pleasure? I don't think so. Sure, your friends may tease you for loving this decidedly earnest pop metal feast, but enjoying this classic is its own revenge. Tunes like Rocket, Pour Some Sugar on Me, the title track, and Love Bites are immediately accessible, and further listens don't diminish the fun. Rocket still gives me goose bumps, and its savvy 1970s glam music references show that Def realize that they didn't just appear on the scene with no precedent. Or maybe I like it because I'm a space enthusiast....

TheBard says "Still a seriously relevant Rock album" about Def Leppard - Hysteria

Bottom-Line: Hysteria is a must have for any fan of the band, or for someone who wants to appreciate the musical genius of one "Mutt" Lange.

I like to think of myself a connoisseur of all types of music; as long as it is good I will listen and appreciate. Of course I get to be the judge of what is good and what isn't; and for me most (hard) rock-n-roll doesn't sound good to me. So it was a surprise when one day while watching MTV (a rare occasion), sometime in the latter part of the last century that a video (Pour Some Sugar on Me) by the now legendary rock group Def Leppard came on and I liked the song. It had driving bass and guitar riffs and seriously infectious drum beats; never mind the lyrics, which I had a hard time understanding, I was hooked. After hearing and seeing-two more releases from the album Hysteria, I bought the CD and still enjoy it to this day.

And no wonder, the album was produced by Robert John "Mutt" Lange, the same...
...
