spaul418 says "The Arc trainer has a lot of options to get you into shape!" about Cybex Arc Trainer

I am reviewing the Cybex Arc trainer eliptical machine. I use this machine at my local Snap Fitness gym. It's a great machine for many reasons.

It's very user friendly so it's easy to get your work out started. The machine has a huge variety of work out options from pre-programmed work out routines to a free workout that you can pace yourself.

The machine has nice wide foot pedals and a very smooth eliptical actions. It has great hand rails to use to stabalize yourself and also has arm bars that you can use to make your workout even more effective.

The machine combines the workouts of a climber, treadmill and skier into one easy to use workout machine that by far out performs other traditional elipticals.

Whether you weigh 250 pounds or 125 pounds this machine is going to work you out to your maximum patential. It can be used for begginer or highly advanced atheletes alike, and the best part is that everyone is going to walk away with a great workout and feel healthier!
...

The Cybex Arc Trainer gives a good workout as far as elliptical machines are concerned but I have found the incline changes slightly confusing (the Arc Trainer has inclines ranging from elliptical to fit hiker) but I use it at the gym - perhaps if I had the manual it would be clearer. However if you are looking for something with a wide range of incline for different workouts and with a wide range of resistance, this is for you For a more basic elliptical machine than this might be more than you want. Lots of different preset workouts to choose from (for both hikers and non-hikers alike). This machine is great for hikers who are looking to keep in shape during colder months and still be able to climb those steeper inclines in the spring. Also great for giving a wide variety of workouts with just one machine. Arms get a workout too - and you can workout different muscle groups depending on the way in which you stride during your routine.
...

After using the Cybex Arc Trainer at my club I bought one for the home. Allows full range workouts from recovery rides to the ultimate explosive intervals or long endurance sessions. Can really vary your workouts. Incredibly smooth & silent. Communicates with Polar Heart rate monitor. I bought mine direct from Cybex and they had it delivered and set up in my home. Still loving it one year later and at least 100,000 calories later. Only machine that compares is the Precor AMT but that costs $10,000. May not be good for a small person because of stride length (cannot be changed)- suggest giving it a try before you buy....

The Cybex arc trainer provides a great workout for both the upper and lower body while giving the knees a break. I go to the gym just about everyday, 6 months ago they brought in a dozen Arc Trainers. I have been hooked on them ever since. While I do mix up my routine with running, stair climbing and the bike to get the best results. I look forward to 45 minutes on ths machine. I recommend this for anyone that likes the eliptical it's very simiar but you actually bend your knees more (it's kinda like running on sand) and you have the option to use it like a stair climber too. It seems to be really popular since people are waiting to use them so I suspect others are feeling the same way I do. Give it a try and I'm sure you will enjoy it. I would love to own...maybe one day.

And yes... you will sweat like crazy from the great workout you'll get.
...
