We were late on the Slow Cooker train, but love this. We love that you can take out the insert and either store it in the fridge or just serve from it. It is easy to clean and we have had quite a success rate with this product.
...

I read many reviews before deciding to buy the "Cuisinart PSC-650 6.5 Quart Programmable Slow Cooker", in brushed stainless steel. I noticed right after purchase in 2008, that the cheaply made "stainless" steel exterior stained from finger oils when you touch it. These staines were permanent. The steel bowl underneath the crock pot was not of good quality. After the first use, the ceramic crock was washed, dried and returned to the base. I removed the crock before the next use, and saw that the bowl underneath had rusted. To make matters worse, the unit would not power up after 6 uses. I took it apart to find a cheap piece of rolled tin supporting the crock, and two small pieces of insulation. The electronic components were not sufficiently protected against the heat emitted from the unit while in use. Using this crock pot burns out its electrical components! In my opinion, this crock pot should not have been priced at more than $30.
My friend also bought this unit, at the same time.......

We enjoy the convenience of this slow cooker. We have the model with the insert that can go in the oven and then in the crockpot. This saves time on the cleanup.

Reliable and does everything you ask of it.
...

calexis says "Makes dinner easy" about Cuisinart CSC-650 6.5-Quart Slow Cooker

I am very pleased with this slow cooker. It really makes making dinner a breeze. You can just pop something in there in the morning and let it cook for 8, 9, 10 even up to 12 hours depending on what you are making. The cooker comes with a book of recipes but there are also endless amounts of recipes online. You can make hearty beef and chicken meals or whatever, chicken catacciore, etc. that make it look like you were in the kitchen all day. It is healthy because there is not as much fat/ grease as frying. It also uses less electricity then turning on your whole oven. The meat gets juicy and done to perfection because it cooks on such a low temperature. And this slow cooker offers a lot of great features- there are different heat levels so you can set it to cook on low or high, and it has a great capacity so you can cook a lot of food at once; and it is not too heavy and it is easy to clean. I recommend it to anyone. ...

I'm not one to experiment in the kitchen and I'm always looking for shortcuts and other ways to simplify the process of meal preparation. Thus, it shouldn't surprise anyone that crock pots are one of my best friends. And when I need to cook up a big batch of food, I reach for my Cuisinart CSC- 650 Slow Cooker, a large crock pot for large meals.

Slow Cooker Commentary:

I own two slow cookers and my Cuisinart CSC- 650 is my favorite of the two. First, I like the large size of this crock pot. At 6.5 quarts, I can prepare a very large meal and have plenty of leftovers to eat at another time. It also makes a good choice for food preparation when you have a large number of guests to feed. Second, I like the greater amount of control that I have with this crock pot. Rather than have a few hourly settings to choose from in increments of 2 hours, I have complete flexibility with this crock pot. Each individual hour is marked and if I need a fraction of an hour, I can set the knob between two of...
...

Modern American life leaves those with families precious little time to function like the families of yesteryear. Between the job commutes, working out, kids, chores, and other pressures, there is little time to cook a decent dinner. I do the majority of cooking in our household and it is something I enjoy, but it is increasingly hard to accomplish because of my ever demanding schedule.

I had two slow cookers; one small 2 quart model and a larger 4 quart multiple setting unit. But all too often my slow cook meals turn out bland and tasteless and despite numerous attempts to spice things up so to speak, I have met with little success. Part of that has to do with overcooking the meal, or cooking it on too high a setting.

So I had a two pronged problem; time and blandness, both of which I hoped to solve with the 6-1/2-quart brushed stainless steel finish Cuisinart CSC-650 6.5-Quart Slow Cooker. The Cuisinart CSC-650 comes with a feature that was lacking on my other two slow cookers:...
...
