I used Cruise Critic to research port activities and where to eat on the ship before a recent cruise. I was cruising on a new cruise line that I didn't know anything about and wanted info! It was really helpful. I got a lot of varying opinions about the cruise. Definetly use it before going on a cruise, especially if you have never cruised before!

I came across this site 3 years ago as I was preparing for my first cruise and I still like to read thru the boards even though I haven't been on another cruise. This site can assist anyone with best cruises, best cabins, best ports, best activities, best excursions, and the list goes on. It helped me immensely with money savings tips and other tips that made my cruise more carefree and memorable. I highly recommend to my friends to check out this site when they're considering a cruise.

other websites for excursions (cruise lingo for land tours), rental car companies on land where you dock, sample menues for dining in some cases, bon voyage gift retailers, information to the country where you are visting, ship/port information, who and where to complain to, and just about any other information you can think about or have a question about you will find linked here through out the posts.

REVIEWS -

reviews on ships, staff, ports of call, programs on board, itinaries, excursions and the people who run them, time of year it's best or worst to take a cruise, food on the various cruise lines, cruise line policies incase something disrupts your cruise, and so very many more type of things reviewed.

I found this site to be very helpful when we were planning our first, second and third cruise. I love to read the board where other cruisers tell how they like the different cruise ships and also different things to do in the ports. This is where we learned of a great tour in Ocho Rios, Jamacia, "Marva Shaw". She was great and I would recommend her to anyone going there. Would only go back there with a good tour guide as it is alittle scary to me but we had a great time....

Cruise Critic is the best site to find out anything you want to know about cruising and cruise lines/ships. We have met some wonderful people on the threads and how to get places on our own without going through the cruise line all the time. We can find out information about all the ports and places to stay and what transportation is available. We have been a member of Cruise Critic for several years now and check it out every day....

I found cruise critic (cruisecritic.com) a couple of years ago when I was hoping to find an answer about a specific port. What I found was not only the answer to my question but a great little website! While it is not perfect, cruise critic is a site worth checking out before, or after, booking a cruise.

What Cruise Critic IS

At Cruise Critic you can read reviews from other cruisers, book one of their cruise specials, find information on ships and ports you can visit. However, the best part about Cruise Critic is their boards. You will need to register before you can post a question or a response. I have not been swamped with spam after doing so.

On the Cruise Critic boards, you can go under the specific cruise line you are booked on or are just thinking about booking. You can ask specific questions such as, "Are there any cabins to avoid?" Or "What are the not-to-miss desserts?" Other cruisers who have sailed on that ship will then give you their opinion. The food questions will especially...

When my husband and I started to look at European River cruises, I found this site and was immediately hooked. My questions were always answered by others who had taken river cruises. The pluses and minuses of each cruise line were pointed out. It definitely helped us to make up our minds on which trip to book. And now that we are going on our cruise, we have had lots of suggestions of which tours are good to take ... and also what type of clothing to pack.

Others put up a review of their latest cruise to give those of us who haven't gone yet a look at what we can expect. I highly recommend this site.

My husband and I have been using Cruise Critic for the last 4 years to research cruises as well as connect with others that have been on the ships we are interested in, or are going to be on the same cruise as us. At Cruise Critic you will find a whole host of information ranging from critiques on the food, entertainment, to accommodations and the destinations themselves. We've often found hints on where to find great shopping bargains in the various ports of call as well as a "heads up" about cruises that have been slated to carry a convention. While there are some reviews written by professional travel writers, most will be written by the passengers themselves, from there own viewpoints and experiences.

If you are considering taking a cruise or are an experienced cruiser, you definitely want to check this website out....

This website is a must before you cruise. I recommend it to everyone. It contains professional reviews of ships on every cruise line. It also contains reviews from members who have also cruised on the ships. There is also information on ports of call, such as shopping, things to do, places to visit. In addition to that is a message board where you can find valuable information things other members have done on their cruises.

On my last cruise I was able to find out that you could not get from one end of the ship to the other on one of the decks, this valuable info came in handy, when we went to breakfast in the dining room.

On the message boards we got information on getting to the Mayan ruins in the Progresso.

I have always found valuable information on ships and ports on this site. I would highly recommend it to anyone planning on or already scheduled for a cruise. You won't be disappointed.
