borne2shop says "I love it!" about Cricut

I never in a million years thought I would be able to afford a Cricut until they came out with the "Create". When I bought mine on sale back in July it was $99.00 at Michael's. What a steal, except now during holiday sales you can get them as low at 69.00...an incredible deal!

I absolutely love my Cricut. I never thought I would be afford cartridges, but after doing some research I found many websites that carry them for quite great prices. I have bought cartridges from $20-$40. I have never paid more than $40 for any one cartridge and now I have 8 of them! Pretty good for a girl on a budget!

The "Create" is the perfect size for any scrapbooker. It is so handy and easy to use! I thought I would want the "Expression" but after using a friends, there is no need for something so big! The only reason I can see to get the bigger machine is if you are making extrememly large letters and die-cuts. Who needs anything bigger than 6 inches?

If you have been thinking about getting...
...

jake1956 says "not worth the money" about Cricut

This is not as simple to use as shown on tv everything about this machine is overly expensive from the machine itself and all the way down to the tools. I purchased this to cut craft foam shapes and it doesn't, I even spent $15.00 on deep cut blades. the mats do not last long and this machine is sitting in a closet collecting dust. I went back to cutting things out the reliable old fashioned way with scissors or an exacto knife. Very sorry i spent the money on this. What do i do with it now?
...

TristaAshlynn says "Did not like it" about Cricut

Humm!!! I got mine a week or two ago.. Not to happy with it its hard to get the paper off of the sitcky board!!! IT IS $400 I just don't at all thing that it is worth that much!!!! All it dose it cut!!!! I scrap book a lot and do little other projects and i do not like it that much!!! We will give it some more time..... Also I'm not that big of a fan of the cartridges they are $60 $70 each that is about $2 per cut out plus paper. If you scrap book you already pay out of the butt for every thing!! So for me so far it is not worth the money i would rather pick out the stickers and other things and pay each time!!! ( I was really exited for the cricut to come out, I have been waiting for a LONG time to get one finally did and now I'm pretty disappointed) D :
...

alohalk says "Not so user friendly" about Cricut

Liked the Cricut Machine at first, and then after having it for a little bit. My enthusiasm was less. It's not as user friendly as it claims. Until today, I still have a problem with the machine on using the "paper saver" option. It does not stop cutting when it gets to the end of the paper, it will still go off the paper, and cut on the mat portion. There are alot of designs to choose from, which is a plus. I have used this for a few projects, but wouldn't say I've done anything mind blowing with it. Cartridges are kind of pricey as well.
...

The Cricut is so easy to use. My 10 year old used it for a school project and it looked so great. (Of course he got an A). I actually purchased mine on Ebay for far less money than a new one. For me it was a great purchase. Now I have a paper addiction and can't go past a craft store without buying more paper.
...

I love the Cricut. I bought the "little" one when the Expression came out so it was a terrific price. I use it primarily for scapbooking but my kids have made some A+ school projects with it as well. I also use it for my classroom.

I never pay full price for the Cricut cartridges. I did some research and found some great deals on line for them. When I see the $90 per cartridge in the stores I cringe!! I have been able to find BRAND NEW IN THE SEALED CONTAINER cartridges for $30-40 DELIVERED. I am personally a shopaholic, so if I can get that great of a deal, then I usually buy several for the price the stores have for one. I also buy the mats and replacement cutters on ebay for less than I find them at craft-type stores.

cjgreg says "Arrived broken, cust.service-no action,no call backs,no satisfct" about Cricut

Cricut Expression bought from Authorized Dealer, arrived broken. Dealer said "contact Cricut". Waited 15 minutes for rep. Followed directions and waited 30 min as told. Machine still could 'not find cartridge'.

Called again and waited again. Misty said, yes, machine broken, email proof of purchase to me, I'll call when I receive it. Two weeks - no call - no response. I sit with over $400 machine and cartridges that do nothing.

With what I am sure is a great machine. But Customer Service is either way understaffed or the machine is so unreliable they are swamped with defective/broken machines.

I'd love to be a satisfied customer. I bought it to use and it's still broken with no resolution in sight.

pmormile says "Love My Cricut Create!!!" about Cricut

The Cricut create has really changed the way that I scrapbook. It's amazing! I save so much money by not having to purchase letter stickers and I love being able to make custom designs for my pages. The initial investment might seem like a lot for some, but it really isn't when you do the math.

I really held off for a long time before I purchased this machine. I didn't think I would ever use it, but not I can't imagine scrapping without it. If you are on the fence about this machine, I would say Go for it! You will get addicted within the first few hours of using it.

Cartridges are pricey, but you can get a great deal on eBay for them.

This tool is great for many types of crafters not just scrapbookers. Another bonus is that you don't need to have a computer to use it. This way if you go to a crop or something you can easily take it with you without taking a laptop with you. I have just recently started to make personalized cards with it. I think that the receivers love the personalization...
...

try2dwjw says "Addicted to Cricut - But not paying an arm and a leg for it!" about Cricut

I got my Cricut for Christmas in 2007. I have to admit I didn't use it all that much at first. Then Provocraft came out with a TON of exciting, new cartridges. I bought some and now I'm HOOKED!

My favorite cartridge is Storybook. I has everything from princess crowns to birds- even an owl. And it has a TON of swirls and flourishes to fit everynook and cranny of your scrapbook pages, handmade cards, posters, and decor. AND it also comes with a complete font that is to-die-for! I can't wait to buy some vinyl and make some shapes/phrases for my walls. I live in an apartment so I'm thrilled at the idea of decorating my walls without leaving a mark behind.

The reason I bought the Cricut was to save money in the long run. I can now cut any font or shape I own in any size (1" to 5 1/2" with the personal). Just the value of being able to make my own custom titles and letters alone is priceless! And to make them out of ANY paper (as well as other materials, such as felt, cork, vinyl, etc) -...
...

The cricut is a great machine, and I don't scrapbook. I use it to make things for the preschool I work at. I can't wait for the arrival of my new expression machine so I can make bigger and better things. A hint to make the mats last longer is to clean them when finished and to use temporary adhesive spray used for machine embroidery to keep them sticky. I would like them to come out with a Halloween cartridge though. Just a heads up.....I ordered mine from cricutoutlet.com and I have waited nearly a month and have not received it yet. Had to write several times ( and was ignored) and finally called the number on my bill before I received any service....

I received the Cricut last year for Christmas. I am an avid scrap-booker, and really wanted this but the price was pretty steep for something that i just wanted and didnt actually need. They run around $300 for the machine and it comes with one basic cartaridge that includes mostly letters and words. I was excited to get this item and tried it out right away! I love how it cuts in different sizes that you select and is fairly simple to use. I had it working right out of the box in less then 10 minutes.

To use the Cricut you attach a piece of paper or card stock to an adhesive board and click the upload button on the keypad. You select the size you want the Cricut to cut and the thickness of the paper it will be cutting on. Once you decide what you want your Cricut to cut out for you, click the big button on the top! It even has a paper saver for you, so you get the most out of your scrapping paper.

There is a down side to this though as well. The cricut once again is very pricey! And the...
...
