sattusa2001 says "cricut expression does not let you make your own designs." about Cricut Expression

On past Sunday, I bought Cricut Expression and since I wanted to cut my own designs, I also bought Cricut Design Studio. On the box it says, you cut what you see, with use of a computer. However, as soon as I opened and tried them, I found that your creation is limited to manufacturer's own designs bought by you. Font cartidges are limited to 4/6 versions of 1/2 fonts. Machine quality is good. Cutting is good. But, since I wanted to cut my own designs, I had to return the packages. Thanks to Walmart for their excellent return policy.

Commercial Vinyl cutters used by sign makers prove cheaper if cost of a few cartridges is included with machine cost. And they allow your own designs to be cut with the help of a computer. Also, you have more fonts free.
...

jkkcz says "Since my cricut expression purchase I have been so creative!" about Cricut Expression

I honestly took a gamble and risk buying this machine. Since the first infomercial, I knew I wanted one of these machine. I didn't want any cricut, I wanted the one that could cut bigger things. So, for months I saw this and I searched everywhere trying to find a good deal. I had bought mine online since they don't sell it where I live. I spent around $380 for mine, this included the jukebox, a mat, spatula, the design studio, 4 cartridges and 2 ink sets. I am more than pleased with this machine. I was able to make party favors for a wedding and made one hundred dollars from that. I also did some pouches for a funeral, to put little rosary bracelets in. When I got it in, I spent everyday on it, just trying to make new things. I've made cards and even personalized a few things at home with this machine. I love this and I believe that I have made a good investment in this machine. I am even thinking of getting a new one later on down the road, just in case something goes wrong with this one,...
...

BKinMN says "Great to scrapbook with but expensive and no replacement parts" about Cricut Expression

I love to scrapbook, and I love what the Cricut Expression can do. But I have invested over $1K in this product and accessories and I am now against a brick wall. I've had the machine almost 3 years... but really only have used it for about 50 hours. The cradle that holds the cutting assembly into place has crumbled at the hinges.. Definitely not from abuse or over use. I contacted the company, and since the 1 year warranty is over, I am out of luck. They do not sell replacement parts, but if I am willing to mail in my machine (at my cost for shipping), they will sell me a refurbished machine for $200 +tax+shipping (no warranty of course). What a scam this company has going. I now have all the accessories, so I need a working machine....rock and hard place.... If I had to do it over again, I would not purchase this, its not worth the agrevation and frustration I have received from their unhelpful customer service.
...

I never knew I could be so creative until my husband got me the Cricut Expression last year for Christmas. Since then I have not let a holiday, birthday, baby shower, or anniversary go by without making my own cards to suit the recipient and the occasion.Everyone loves getting cards from me and I feel so proud since I never felt I was good at anything crafty before. I also use it for making layouts and adding embellishments to my scrapbook pages to make them look uniquely mine. There is Sooo much this machine can do, that I haven't even begun to try them them all yet! The cartridges can be expensive, but if you buy them online or on ebay you can save a bundle!( and you'll need to since buying lots of different cartridges can be addictive!) I can't thank my husband enough for buying me this machine and opening up a whole world of possibilities in which to show off my new-found creativeness!
...

Wow! What an incredible machine! I am a teacher and a scrapbooker. I know the machine is expensive, but if you are willing to think outside the box a little, you will get your moneys worth. We recently took a trip to Disney and when I went to our local scrapbooking store to but embellishments to use in my album, I spend well over $100. If I would have watched and purchased a couple of Disney cartridges when they were on sale, I would have had them to use later....like for birthday cards, bulletin boards at school, birthday party decorations, etc.....I haven't tried it, but you can also cut words, etc. for the wall, call thicker materials for other projects. My sister-in-law and I went in together to purchase a cricut and then share our cartridges. We often scrapbook together anyway. We just make sure we don't buy the same cartridges. :) The blades and mats have to be replaced at some point. The mats you will go through more quickly than the blades. Again, if you watch...
...

Sweyo says "I love my Cricut Expression, it is easy to use" about Cricut Expression

I got a Cricut Expression for Mother's Day last year and love it and use it regularly. It is so easy to use and has endless possibilities. I have over 10 cartrdiges and use it regularly. I also purchased the Deep Blade and I have cut fabric and chipboard easily.

The Cricut Expression cuts in 1/4" incriments from 1/4" tall to 24" tall. It can also cut mirror images along with may other features. There is also a feature so as not to waste paper and you can center the blade on a picture and it will cut the desired shape centering the image in the picture.

The blades last a long time as I just replaced my first blade a few weeks ago. I go through mats frequently, but re-sticky them by spraying them with a quilt spray adhesive.

My only complaint is when it cuts letters they do not come out clean and tear a lot of the time. Otherwise, I love the Cricut and use it for quilting, scrapbooking and card making.
...

The Cricut Expression Die Cut Machine has been a necessary tool in my crafting arsinol. I have used this to create many layouts, projects, cards, and banners during the last year of ownership. The orignial blade, given with purchase, lasts though thousands of cuts. I have had this machine for about a year and have just now changed my blade. I appreciate having so many options when choosing how my cricut cuts, between speed, pressure, paper alignment and location, the machine can cut anything. It works on many different types of media, including vellum, cardstock, acrylic sheets, and chipboard. To use this machine, you do not have to have a class. It is a basic plug and play idea. The guides that come with each cartridge are detailed and full of wonderful ideas. The only downside is the cost of the individual cartridges. However, as a bargain hunter, I have been able to get my cartridges online with great sale prices. I would buy this machine for friends if the price...
...

ANyone who scrapbooks or does anything crafty at all would benefit greatly from this awesome gadget. I myself constantly have projects going on that I use the cricut for - I'm not even a traditional scrapbooker! I own a graphic and web design company and I do birth announcements, invitations, scrapbooks, photography albums, etc, etc, for people all the time. In the past I would have to cut out all the designs by hand and it would take forever to complete my projects, plus half the time my hand would actually start cramping from all the cutting and I would have to take a break. Now all that is behind me and I am constantly coming up with new ways to use the Cricut. I do a lot of my own printing and ink gets very expensive for me. Now I can efficiently use colored paper for a lot of the things I used to print and it saves me money and actually looks better on the finished product. I would recommend anyone looking at the cricut to BUY IT!!!! Now!
...

myfbil says "Wonderful machine is fun but too expensive for home crafters" about Cricut Expression

The Cricut is AMAZING in what it can do. HOWEVER, I find it to be too expensive for the typical home crafter. It literally took me 8 hours to make 90 favor boxes by the time I cut them using the Cricut, then scored and folded the boxes, glued them together and attached flowers (cut with the Cricut) to the tops. It would have been more time-efficient to purchase the boxes at 10 for $1.00 at Dollar Tree, then decorate them with a pre-made flower (6 for $1 at Dollar Tree).

I do find this machine interesting and fun to use. Thank goodness somebody I know bought it and let me borrow it because I'd never buy my own.
...
