When I first discovered iPods, I was so psyched to get one. When my mom discovered the price, she wasn't so enthusiastic. So instead, for Christmas two years ago, she bought the Creative Zen V Plus for me (in black and green) and I was in mp3 heaven. Initially, it worked very well. I loved features such as the ability to just drag and drop music files into the Zen music folder, which is so much better than having to download iTunes because not only can I manually choose which songs I want on the Zen, but I can also drop files from CDs I no longer have. This is great because with iTunes and iPods, you have to actually have a CD to upload DMR-protected songs (like songs on a CD) to the iPod. So with the Zen, I had the option of synching my music (which I never really figured out), and I had the option of manually installing any song I wanted. Unfortunately, and maybe this is my fault, I never had space for more than 1,100 songs. I just always ran out of space (but the Zen does have this...
...

This was a christmas gift. My boyfriend bought it for me because that was the coolest one he could find. I didnt go crazy for the color black and blue. THe price was great for all the storage you get. I still have it and use it today. The only thing I do not like about it is the joy stick is really hard to get used to. I dont like the wheel on the i pod either but I like that better than the joystick on the zen. it hurts my finger if i go through a lot of songs. Easy to hook up to my computer and sync. Has good sound.
...

I LOVE ZEN! Zen has been making the best products ever! I decided to buy a zen instead of an I pod and I couldn't be happier! It maybe a little bit larger and bulkier but my Zen has stood up to some pretty crazy things! Including being run over by a car. It has lasted longer, gotten scratched less and has way better sound quality than my sister's I pod nano. Zens are a must have for Music lovers!...

LadyJane123 says "The Best small Mp3 Player with Video capabilities on the market" about Creative Zen V Plus (8 GB, 2000 Songs) MP3

Creative has the very best Mp3 players on the market today. They may not have so many different ones but that is because they did it right the first time. The Zen V-Plus has all that you could ever want with various different sized storage. You can watch and store video clips, music and pictures all in one unit. The videos are very clear in a small window but compact is the way to go. You can also zoom in on pics. It is very hard to mess up anything by accidently pushing the wrong button. Also if you decide you don't want something on it it is very easy to delete that item. ...

Purchased at Circuit City.com for $80.00. Very happy with this unit. 2G is plenty of space for the music I wanted in and reproduction quality is all I hoped it would be. Only complaint I have is that the supplied earbuds, although they sound great, are too large and quickly become uncomfortable. I picked up a pair of SkullCandy phones(also at Circuit Ciy.com-$27.00) and everything is A-OK. Absolutely no regrets about this purchase....

I hve had this player for a year now and it has a nice storage capacity but the screen and controls leave a little to be desired. I like the category features but the screen could stand to be a bit larger and the buttons more detailed and defined. I am now looking into other creative players for better features and controls....

I bought this for myself a couple of months ago and love it. It is easy to download songs and to use. The price is so much better than the Ipod. I love that you can make playlists and pick and choose what you want to listen to. The sound quality is great and it is small and good looking. You can also pit pictures on it. I highly recomend it....

With all the hype over iPods it is good to see there are alternatives out there that are just as good if not better and won't leave you broke. Creative labs has been around for years making sound cards and PC speakers. Now they have their hands in the MP3 player market. This is a strong company with a great product. The creative zen v plus is a comparable version to the iPod it comes in a number of sizes from 1 GB to 16 GB and a variety of colors. Fuctionality is easy to learn and has a slider bar for scrolling and volume which also serves as a touch pad. Packaged perfectly with earphones, cables and a bag to keep the unit in, it would be a shame to not check this line out before you buy....

Creative zen v plus with 4GB is great because it allows me to listen to only music I love and and have on cd's and cannot use cd's in the car. It works no matter where I am because there is always radio space available. Having the 4GB is large enough for me to list me favorite songs and never allows me to be board while traveling long distances. The sound is great and no distortions.
...

unbr0ken says "Great product, though only holds about 500 songs..." about Creative Zen V Plus (8 GB, 2000 Songs) MP3

I love this MP3 player. I was trying to find something without video and pictures, since I was only going to be using it for music but this was a good choice. Only problem, if you do decide to load pictures and videos onto the player, it will take up a lot of space. I have less than 500 songs on the 4GB player and I can only assume that if I had added a video or two that it would be much less. The battery life is amazing, but you do have to buy the charger seperately. The player does charge itself while you are loading files to it, but it takes a bit longer to charge up using this method. The charger (which ranges from $20-$25) charges the player fully in less than an hour. I was going to get an iPOD, but to be honest, I liked the size and color of this MP3 player more. The player itself is black, with highlights of green or blue and you can change the background color of the screen through the options on the player. Great buy!...

After seeing all my friends pull out their iPod nanos, I had some serious mp3 player-envy. I wanted to be able to pull out my favorite song at a moments notice, but had balked at iPod's high price for a limited investment. Most people have stated to me that the battery gives up after 3 years. So I did some research and found the Creative website. The Zen is the equivalent of the iPod Nano, and the Stone is the equivalent of the iPod Shuffle.

I purchased a Zen V Plus (the high end model) for half of the price of a Nano. So far I am very happy with my purchase. Its the size of a fat box of matches and plays for 15 hours after only two hours charging. I can keep photos and videos on it as well - no more digging for pictures of my nephew in the bottom of my purse! There is even a calendar and appointment feature (but I havn't tested that out yet).

I recommend that people step off the iPod train and start looking at other brands. They are the same product for less money!...
...
