So i Started on a search for Cork plank flooring last summer and i was shocked when i saw the prices. $8.79 a square foot seemed a bit eccessive to me.

So after some internet reasearch and some foot work i can across a smoking deal on some free classfieds page. www.rugbugecoflooring.com this is the site i went to.

i ended up buying 1120 sf for only 3.50 a square foot. saved me over 5,000 big ones.

turns out you can go green on a budget.

i think the place was called Rug Bug. they are located here in portland oregon. im gonna go back soon and have them make me a wool throw rug for my living room.

i enjoy the cork flooring mainly because it green and it has some much character. its not boring like tile and its soooo soft.

Cork flooring is a wonderful "new" product, that deserves some attention. If you are open to different ideas when it comes to your floor, or just realize that putting carpet beneath your feet contributes to the problem, rather than the solution then cork may be for you. It's durable and beautiful. With a little looking it was easy for us to find affordable floors, no more than buying laminate or hardwood....

We installed cork flooring in our kitchen and hallways. It is warm and has just enough give to it to prevent aching calves. If I drop things on it, they don't break. It was easy to install (used cork tiles) and is extremely attractive! Love it!...

COrk flooring is the best and easiest flooring to use, especially if you have kids and pets. It makes standing easier on your back and knees as well. I wouldnt have aything else...

My contractor said cork flooring is easy to work with and produces great results. It is expensive but it will outlast the rest of the house. Quality and durability add to the value.

Once you see it in a room you will want it in your house.

It lends warmth to the surroundings with its rich texture and interesting grain. It requires very little maintenance and is easy to clean.

Background
My husband and I own an 1800s house. We have spent the last 4 years upgrading every aspect of our house-- painting, bathrooms, outdoor reconstruction, garages, etc. We recently thought we were finished when we got sucked into a new project-- finishing our basement.

Here's the scoop-- we always left the basement alone since we didnt need the room. But, now that we have two active kids that have taken over our house, we thought we better venture into the land down under. This will hopefully give us some form of kiddie toy relief in our main living space!

Boy-- this was no small task. As a point of reference, we could have grown things in our basement--- I think we may have-- with mold! We basically had a dirt floor. So, flooring and foundation became a big decision for us.
