roseautumn says "A safe, comfortable car seat" about Compass True Fit Car Seat

The First Years Tru fit car seat is a great buy,

I looked through the safety ratings for toddler seats, and this is the best one I could find.

The seat is comfortable for my son. It comes in a variety of colors and styles.

It starts at 5 pounds, and goes up to 65 pounds. The seat provides safety for up to 50 inches.

It can be used in rear or front facing. A five-point harness is included for safety.

There is no re-threading necessary for the harness, which is GREAT!

The top head rest is removable for the rear-facing position.

The cup holder is removable, which is convenient for juice cups.

The seat has nice shoulder straps that are removable, my son removed them because they are just held together with velcro.

The car seat is a little tricky if you need to move it car to car frequently. It takes about 5-10 minutes to install.

It is a little bulky in the back seat of my sedan, so it would fit better in a SUV or van.

The seat has large sides for extra protection.

I think it is definitively...
...

jalk0312 says "I would recommend the True Fit car seat to anyone." about Compass True Fit Car Seat

The True Fit car seat is a great choice for almost every infant and toddler out there. It has one of the highest weight ratings for rear-facing - up to 35 pounds. This is important because the longer you can rear-face your child, the better. The AAP now recommends children remain rear-facing until age two. While rearfacing, if they are under a year and 22 pounds, the seats headrest can be removed, making it very easy to fit this seat at the correct angle in even the smallest car.

Once you turn your child forward facing, they'll be able to stay in this seat and harnessed until 65 pounds, also one of the highest weight limits available. Don't worry too much if your child is skinny but tall - the shell for the True Fit once the headrest is installed is one of the tallest out there.

The seat installs easily, whether with the seatbelt or LATCH system. The cover is a breeze to take off for cleaning. The side padding and extra newborn headrest ensures a comfortable ride for your little one.

I received this 1st Years Tru Fit carseat as a gift from my registry. I decided on this seat because of the comfort and safety. It is the most comfortable carseat I have ever owned for my children. The colors are great for a boy and the extra padding is a huge bonus. The seat cover is easily removable for washing. Very easy to recline and adjust straps. The only downside I have with this carseat is that the anchor system for rearfacing is a little difficult for me to use. It is very easy for a stronger woman or a man, however smaller women may have difficulty. This is just a minor problem compared to all the benefits of this seat.
...

rjaffeux says "Great product/ carseat" about Compass True Fit Car Seat

this is a great car seat. It's very suniggly. if i was in a carseat i would set in one of these types... great product. I have had this product from the time my son was born and asside of not coming out and fitting in a stroller it's the most perfect car seat i have found on the market. The car seat fits much better in a car rear facing then any other i have found. Since the top of the back comes off. But when your child becomes old enough to go forward facing it goes on and it has a cup holder also. It comes in a number of colors including a very girl color and many other options that work for boys and both genders. Also as your child grows in stead of having to re thread the seat belt you can just raise it by pulling a lever in the back and move it up. so you never had to completly take it apart when they grow a little or a lot like some do...lol The price seems high but considering you pay at least $50 for rear facing and $100 for a forward facing and you don't have to do the transfer...
...

bharvey621 says "The First Years True Fit Car seat has good points and bad points" about Compass True Fit Car Seat

I purchased this car seat after my son quickly outgrew his regular "carrying" carseat. I like this car seat because it is very soft and comfortable and of course fits him perfectly. But when he falls asleep, his head falls to the side, very far and it looks very uncomfortable so when he wakes up, it's hard for him to pull up and straighten his neck up all by himself.. and without it hurting :( He was only 6 months old when we purchased this, so he still falls asleep in every car ride.. even when we go 5 minutes down the road to the store. Which brings me to another point that I don't like about this car seat, the fact that it's not a carrying car seat because I have to wake him up to get him out of the car and bring him into the store, whereas with a carrying car seat, you can just bring that car seat into the store, and he can still sleep. I do not recommend this car seat if you have a small car.. especially a 2 door car, unless they are ready to be rear facing, (which, by the way, isn't...
...

The first year tru fit is a good carseat for stage two(Stage one the infant carrier and stage three the big kid booster). The carseat is limited to hold a child 5 to 50 pounds. The best part about this seat is it is reverable can be seated facing backwards and forwards. The padding of this car seat is triple layer that provides comfprt all around. This cardeat is a five point harne which is now safer than the old ones and a removable headrest.
...

I did a lot of research to decide what car seat to get for my 4 month old baby for our 2nd car. I finally decided upon the First Years Tru Fit and I am sooo glad I did! It is very comfortable for my baby and was pretty easy to install. It has a very easy to adjust strap system that you don't have to uninstall to move up. Very nice. It also has a nice color coding so that you can easily see where the levers are for adjusting. Likewise, the straps can be loosened and tightened easily. And, perhaps most importantly, the fabric liner easily comes off for cleaning. You don't realize how much this is worth until you don't have it. My last car seat I had to take the whole thing apart to clean it, a real pain. My baby spits up a lot so this is a very, very nice feature! The head support for when he is older is removable, and the infant head support he uses now is very plush. Much nicer than cheaper options and our older seat. Well worth the money, I think this car seat...
...

The First Years Tru Fit, this car seat was perfect for my little neice. I would get her on the weekends and she loved this seat. I had tried other seats in the past and they would ride her in the wrong places or she would just undo them and be all over the backseat. This was a problem for me while I was driving. I needed something that was comfortable and was safe for her to ride in. The First Years Tru Fit was perfect! The First Years Tru Fit was the only thing I could find that would work. The TruFit was great. I got The First Years Tru Fit in a big toddlers size because she was kind of big for a little girl but it still fit perfect. The reason the other car seats didnt work was because she was to long in the legs for them. But in the The First Years Tru Fit was absolutely perfect. Her legs and upper boddy fit within the car seat and wasnt uncomfortable for her. She would actually leave it buckled!
...

When looking for a car seat for our son we wanted to do research one time only. Our interest was in a high quality, safe seat that would get us through the duration of car seat years. We wanted something that would be comfortable for our son and something that would grow with him. The First Years True-Fit Convertible Car Seat fit the bill perfectly. Children ranging from 5 to 65 pounds are able to use the seat so we knew that we would get several years out of it. Our favorite features are:

It has extra padding for little ones that is removable when the child gets older.

The seat is roomy.

The shoulder height of the five point harness straps is easily adjustable.

The head rest detatches so that the when the seat is rear facing it fits great in a compact car but when it is time to turn the seat around for your larger child there is a safe headrest that is easily attached.

The seat pads come off easily for washing cracker crumbs and juice drips off.

Because the weight range is so...

...

I purchased this seat with my second child because I gained alot of experience from the first on what was necessary and what wasnt. I chose to buy a convertible car seat this time around because it would last longer and would be cheaper than having to buy several carseats over the years. I like the look and feel of this carseat and my son who is now 9 months old absolutely loves it. This is the only seat he has ever had and it has been road tested many times for trips that were over 3 hours. The cover comes in several shades and is machine washable if there happen to be any mishaps. It is fairly priced compared to the other convertible carseats at $179. It was very easy to install in my car the only downside was that I really wished it had some accessories for it.
