it is a horrible laptop, great graphis and sound, dvd burner, 80 GB HD(A little to small),1 GB ddr2, and windows vista. Althogh i would not recomend it to anyone, i have had so many problems it is not even funny, i have had to send it in to hp like 8 times, do not buy it....

I've been having this Compaq Presario laptop for about 6 months now. However, it suddenly crashed for no apparent reason. It seems they have some faulty power problems. Since day one, this laptop never shuts off properly, so I'd have to unplug the power cord and detach the battery to shut it off completely every time I used it. Then, when I try to use it again, I'd have to turn it on, and wait for about 5 minutes or so before it powers up, even though the battery was full! It's cheaply made and you know what they say, "you get what you pay for"....

The Laptop that I purchased is a COMPAQ Presario F572US Notebook PC.

I purchased it from Staples. Even before I opened the box, the people from Staples were so knowledgable and helpful.

When they wrote the book COMPUTERS FOR DUMMIES I think somewhere in the book you will find my name. I am reasonablly smart but nervous about new things and products. I have a PC and I can get around the "net" okay. I can write a letter and even make a flyer but the thought of owning a laptop (to small) was over my head. Only "geeks" know how to use them. WELL, I am now a "geek". I love it. It helps me when I need it, it has a great picture, it allows me to do things my PC doesn't because the hard drive is bigger and the quaility of picture is better. It is also so much more flexiable. It takes us so little space. I only wish I had purchased it earlier

The Compaq presario has everything I need in a computer, DVD and CD Burner, Media Players, Widescreen and Vista! I couldnt be happier with my purchase....

I bought my laptop at Costco for about $600. It has been working fine except for some driver issues I had that were resolved by doing a litlle research. I like Vista's features, but have heard a lot of reviews saying that there are compatibility issues with some applications. I upgraded the memory from 512 to 2GB of RAM. I might upgrade the processor at some time since I still do have problems muti-tasking. I would recommend this laptop to beginner or intermediate PC user....
