The food is decent and the price is good. However the floors were visibly dirty, there was gum stuck under the table and the bathroom was a complete mess. The waitress was miserably sick. She was sneezing and coughing the entire time.

Like the other people who posted before me, I have eaten at this diner on 2 occasions. Each time the restaurant was under new ownership and each time the visit was disappointing. The first time, was for breakfast. I always order my eggs scrambled - well done. They were anything but! The eggs were undercooked and slimy. I found the staff to be very unfriendly and not eager to put forth any effort to make the customers happy.

The second time was for lunch. Just as bad, if not worse than the first visit. The wait just to take my order was horrible and it had noting to do with how many people were dining! The staff stood around talking, complaining, some went out for cigarettes - even my waitress!!!! I will never go back to this place again. They may be cheap, but sometimes you get what you pay for...

I have actually eaten here on two different occasions because I am always willing to give a second chance. However, on both occasions I was disappointed with my food. Not only was the quality of the food lacking but the service was less than adequate. The food was cold and what angered me most was that the staff stood around talking to each other instead of attending to the needs of the customers. While standing in line to pay, the couple behind us was commenting on their meal, service, etc and how disappointed they were as well.

I must say, however, that I was there for dinner each time and have never eaten breakfast there. Perhaps that is what the diner best serves, I do not know. I do know that I will not be giving the diner a third chance.

This is an ok place to go if your looking for anywhere to eat. They have a ton of varities and the food there is excellent and they always fill you up and you pay a very cheap price. So if you go out to eat, you can consider eating at the Colonial Park Dineratleast once. I found the owners very friendly and accomadating...

I visit this place for breakfast a couple times a month. For the most part, the service by the morning breakfast staff is very fast. The food won't win rave reviews, but it's no worse than that of other places in the Harrisburg area, is reasonably priced, and is usually served hot. The morning staff are mostly regulars that have been there for a long time, and once they get to know you will kibbitz with you when they have a moment. As far as lunch and dinner, I've tried them a couple times, and the previous reviews are pretty much on the mark...I doubt I'll return anytime in the forseeable future for lunch or dinner. I'll stick with breakfast....

I agree with the previous post-er - that this diner sucks! I was there twice. The first time, there was hair on the gob of margarine on my toast, and the eggs were runny, and cold. I felt sick after eating. I tried a second time, and stuck with tea. The place has the potential to be nicer, and really should clean up, being that they are in a prime location, and still smoking for those who smoke. They could make a killing. It needs a little more attention to detail inside with the decorations and what-not, it is boring and blah. The wait staff did seem unenthused. One of the pros also is they are one of the only places in the Colonial Park area that are 24 hours. They ought to clean up their act!!

There are always those local places whose dingy exterior hides a wealth of local color. The Colonial Park diner was NOT one of those places. The dingy exterior hid an equally dingy interior with ashtrays decorating each table. The food was greasy and boring and the waitstaff both looked and acted bored to death. The best part about the place was that the menus were colorful. We actually saw a waitress empty an ashtray into a used coffee mug while cleaning the table.
Needless to say, we won't be returning there again.

Note: This review is from a visit about one year ago. Recent advertising claims that they have updated, however I doubt that they are really a better restaurant....
